Chapter 929: Chapter 929

Supreme Regalheaven looked at Li Pin. "Reincarnation and karma."

According to Li Pin, the Transcendents were beings with mastery over the essence of karma.

When the Void and Transcendence overlapped, they essentially became the embodiment of karmic reincarnation.

But their version of karmic reincarnation was achieved through a special method. They didn't cut off karma—they avoided it entirely.

In other words, they had essentially stepped out of the mundane world, beyond the reach of karma.

However, once they returned to the Material World and began to control matter, energy, time, and space, new karma would form again.

"So, to transcend reincarnation, one must understand both Existence and Void. But karma... must be completely severed," Supreme Regalheaven said.

He paused for a moment, something coming to mind, then continued, "This method... it feels familiar somehow. Or maybe... it sparked a certain inspiration in me."

As soon as Regalheaven said that, all eyes turned to him.

Supreme Regalheaven didn't waste a moment. With a wave of his hand, three paths appeared before them. "The first one, severing karma through a shortcut. This is the simplest and easiest way to gain control over karmic power. It means letting yourself fall into the void and avoid karma altogether."

This was the path many Transcendents had chosen. This included Supreme Regalheaven himself.

The reason he and Transcendent Equiheaven always remained separate was that the moment they merged into one, Equiheaven would fall from that realm.

Of course, karma didn't bind itself all at once. There was a process to it.

Both Supreme Regalheaven and Transcendent Equiheaven were at their strongest when they fused. That fusion was the basis of Supreme Regalheaven's confidence when he claimed he could suppress Creator Miao Ya.

"As for the second method..." Regalheaven looked at Li Pin. "In my view, your way of severing karma wasn't truly cutting it off. Rather, you made a great vow. You used a higher karmic force to override the existing one. By touching the very origin, you came to understand the power of karma."

"The cause of all causes, the effect of all effects," Li Pin said.

"This method may seem simple on the surface, but in truth, it's incredibly difficult. Anyone can make a vow, but in that moment, your heart must hold unwavering belief. You must be willing to give up everything for it... even yourself."

Regalheaven's expression grew solemn. "It's burning all your bridges, charging forward with unshakable faith, and staking everything on the belief that you'll fulfill the karma tied to that vow."

"It's not a gamble," Li Pin replied calmly. "Because I know I won't fail. So it's not a bet."

Regalheaven understood what Li Pin truly meant by those words.

As long as he lived, he would pursue that goal with unwavering determination. He would press forward and constantly surpass himself. Unless he died, no words or interference could shake him in the slightest.

But even if he fell walking that thin line between life and death, his heart would remain steadfast even during his last moments.

That conviction would become an obsession so strong it would persist even after death, carrying out that will and fulfilling the karma. It would drive him to reach the far shore, the source of all causes and the end of all effects—what he called... the Origin

This path could only be taken by a very select few.

By contrast, compared to the first two options...

"For most beings who stand at the peak of the universe, the third path might actually be the most suitable," Regalheaven said. "That is, to bind oneself to the greatest karma, and then break it."

He spoke solemnly. "The very moment you shatter that karma, you'll touch the true essence of karma itself, and gain a real understanding of its power."

His words stirred the hearts of Supreme Primordial, Genesis, and Ordainment.

Just as Regalheaven had said, falling into the void through the Transcendent Path did bring one closer to karma, but it had clear limitations. It offered limitless potential, yes, but not in matter, energy, time, or space. Its infinity lay in consciousness, in spirit.

It was like having infinite computing power, capable of omniscience and omnipotence. But even so, it wasn't the ideal path for beings like them.

The second path was the grand vow. Once taken, one would be bound to their vow for life, forced to follow it to the end. More importantly, the risk of failure was high. Li Pin had succeeded only because of his unique nature. It was as if he had been born for that path. If anyone else had tried, the outcome would have been uncertain.

It could be said that this method required a kind of innate talent, and talent was notoriously unreasonable.

This left them with the third option.

Li Pin nodded. "This third path does seem more fitting."

"What is the greatest karma?" Supreme Primordial asked.

All the Supremes, along with everyone else, fell into deep thought.

What is the greatest karma...?

After a long silence, Supreme Ordainment said. "I believe the greatest karma is life itself."

Li Pin's heart stirred. "Life?"

"Yes. From the moment we came into existence, karma was formed. So, the greatest karma is life itself, and the one who binds this karma to us is the universe. That includes the world, all living things, and everything that exists."

Supreme Ordainment looked off into the distance. His gaze seemed to pierce through the Violet Nightsky Palace, through the Void of Chaos, and into the vast and boundless universe.

"Heaven gives birth to all things to nourish humankind. Karma follows us throughout our lives. But in return, humanity gives nothing back to Heaven. When we keep taking, we'll have to pay back eventually. That repayment is the path of Liberation, which is also the final step we must take."

His voice grew deeper. "At that moment, if we can truly understand the essence of karma, we may reach Transcendence. But to do that, we must give back to the universe by expanding its starry domain, and making it broader, greater, and more magnificent.

"If we fail to comprehend karma, then everything the universe has given us must be returned. Everything we gained will dissolve into the cycle of reincarnation, return to the laws of karma, and we ourselves will vanish into the universe."

Supreme Primordial and Genesis felt a sense of familiarity at Ordainment's words.

Supreme Genesis asked, "Like when a Divine Emperor becames Supreme?"

"That's right. Just like when Divine Emperors attain Supreme."

Ordainment nodded. "However, unlike cultivation in the past, our path forward will now require us to actively engage with karma, deepen our connection to the universe, and even consider ourselves part of it."

Supreme Genesis couldn't understand. "How is that different from our current state?"

Ordainment explained, "It's very different. Take now, for instance. If we comprehend the power of reincarnation, we could easily enter the depths of the Void of Chaos like Creator Miao Ya and his companions. In doing so, everything we've gained from the universe would be taken with us. But in the end, we'd achieve neither Liberation nor return what we've received. That path leads nowhere."

Supreme Primordial questioned, "Karma? Even if we deepen it, the universe can no longer bind us at our level, especially now that we've grasped reincarnation. We're no longer subject to its rules; we're the ones creating them now. So if we stand at the edge of life and death and still refuse to follow the cosmic order, then what meaning is there in karma at all?"

"The Astral World," said Li Pin suddenly. "The key lies with the Astral World."

He swept his gaze across the Supremes. "In essence, Divine Emperors and Supremes belong to the same realm, just at different sublevels. The true gap between them comes from the shackles of the Astral World. If a Divine Emperor were to leave it, there's a high chance he could rapidly absorb the universe's matter, energy, time, and space, reaching a power level close to that of a Supreme."

He raised a finger, and a phantom image of the Astral World appeared. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novᴇlfire.net

"But if we raise the Astral World's constraints tenfold, or even just four to five times, and have you Supremes re-cultivate within it, all while keeping your memories and realm, could you still reach the Supreme Realm?"

The Supremes didn't even need to think to arrive at an answer. "Impossible."

Primordial added, "The Astral World has a ceiling. Unless we raise that ceiling by four to five times, even if we return with all our strength and memories, we still won't be able to break through."

He understood what Li Pin was getting at, and his eyes lit up. "If an Astral God merges with the Astral World, it would form a powerful karmic bond. And if that Astral God is strong enough—say, a Divine Emperor who has mastered reincarnation—then with that karma, a firm resolve, and the mindset of risking death for life, they might skip the Supreme stage entirely... and reach Liberation in one leap."

"In theory, that's possible. But it would require deeper integration with the Astral World's power. And the Astral World itself would need to grow stronger."

"Strengthening that connection isn't a bad thing. It means forming deeper karmic ties. And the deeper the karma, the higher the chance of understanding the Dao of Karma when the time comes to seek Liberation."

After discussing it, the Supremes felt this path was the most promising, one that many could follow. Even Li Pin, who hadn't grasped karma through this method, approved. After a short pause, he spoke again. "Then that leaves us with just one problem."

The Supremes fell silent. Then, almost at the same time, they voiced the most critical issue.

"Yes." Li Pin nodded. "The Astral World. We need to change it."

The Supremes exchanged looks.

After a long silence, Supreme Genesis said, "Because of the recent disaster in the Astral World, we've been working more closely with the other Supremes. We were already planning to step in and adjust the Astral World's rules. But now, it's clear that if we're going to do it, we must go all the way. We need to push for a full change."

He looked around the group. "The news about the Astral Lord Council and the Creators behind it has probably already reached the other races' Supremes. They've just stayed quiet to maintain stability. I suggest we use their invasion as a reason to gather all Supremes in the universe. At this universal summit, we'll rewrite the Astral World's rules."

His suggestion quickly won support from Supreme Regalheaven. "With the combined strength of all the Supremes, rewriting the Astral World's rules will be no problem."

"No objections here."

Even Li Pin nodded. His power was rising quickly, and he would soon be able to change the Astral World's rules on his own. But if it meant he could end the suffering of the Astral Gods even one day earlier, he would gladly accept it.

He gave a slight nod. "Let's do it."
