Chapter 882: Chapter 882
Indestructible Matter was named such for its indestructible nature. No power in existence could destroy it. It was immune to all forms of energy, including time and space. In fact, it could turn around and suppress them.
This indicated that its fundamental nature surpassed even the basic laws that governed the workings of the universe.
"To date, the Divine Bodies of Astral Gods are primarily composed of energy. The difference lies in the Energy Level they possess. The ultimate form of Energy Level is what defines a Tyrant. Beyond that stage, time and space become mere tools. At its core, everything still originates from Energy Level."
A wisp of Immortal Dark Flame appeared in Li Pin's hand. It was the remnant of Divine Emperor Xuan Huang's original body. In truth, the Immortal Dark Flame had been forged from Indestructible Matter.
Just like Li Pin, Xuan Huang had once tried to rebuild his body with it, but clearly, he had failed. In the end, he could only refine it into something resembling armor, using it to shield himself.
"My Divine Body can maintain a height of three hundred meters in the Astral World's core layer. If I ignore the burden, I could push it past a thousand, but doing so would draw in the Eternal Oblivion Force. That's why... three hundred meters is the most optimal form."
After a quick calculation, Li Pin brought out the Six Paths Wheel, the World-Suppressing Halberd, and the Supreme Black Sun.
He ran his right hand over the three Supreme Divine Weapons. Spacetime energy flowed over their surfaces. Wherever the power of spacetime failed to penetrate or take effect, he could tell that those areas were forged from Indestructible Matter.
Before long, he reluctantly withdrew his hand.
"Even with all three Supreme Divine Weapons combined, there's probably not enough Indestructible Matter to forge a single one-hundred-meter-tall Divine Body."
Li Pin studied them for a moment. A clear light gradually spread from his body as he began cleansing the divine weapons.
However, the power of Indestructible Matter had already surpassed the limits of matter, energy, time, and space. Since Li Pin hadn't grasped its essence, he couldn't erode it, destroy it, or simulate it with the Great Dao Radiance.
"To forge a Divine Body entirely out of Indestructible Matter, I first need to understand how this material is formed."
But there was a problem. No one knew how Indestructible Matter came into being. It was a question with no answer in sight.
"I'll have to look into it myself," Li Pin murmured. He called out, "Sasha."
"I'm here," came her reply.
Sasha was still operating under Li Pin's authority. At the time, she was using part of her power to control the Grand Celestial Constellation Cycle Formation.
"Give me everything you have on Indestructible Matter. Also... does the Master of Ocean of Time know how it's formed?" he asked.
"The data on Indestructible Matter has been compiled. As for whether Father knows how it's formed... I'm sorry. The Eternal Oblivion Force is interfering with transmissions. I can't access the latest data. Based on what I could find in the old archives, even Father has no records on its origin."
Li Pin was surprised. "Not even the Master of Ocean of Time?"
Still, that wasn't entirely unexpected. Indestructible Matter might have been the core material used in Supreme Divine Weapons. But if it were truly vital, the Supremes and Highlords would've long monopolized it.
Looks like my only option now is to visit places where Indestructible Matter has surfaced before and see if any clues could be found.
Of course, the Supremes had likely thought the same and already acted on it. If he hoped to find anything meaningful, it wouldn't be easy.
Let's hope this 'Child of Fortune' buff, where even heaven and earth align in my favor, will actually prove useful and lead me to something.
With that thought, Li Pin shifted his focus back to matter, energy, time, and space.
Unleashing the Great Dao Radiance would inevitably provoke backlash from the Astral World.
The reason he had been able to effortlessly slay Zhu Zhao and Xuan Huang was that the Grand Celestial Constellation Cycle Formation had concealed the aura of the Great Dao Radiance. But in a regular battle, without that kind of cover... its power would be drastically weakened.
Now, with the Child of Fortune blessing enhancing his understanding of the four fundamental forces to their peak, he could fully harness the Great Dao Radiance within his Divine Body to forge a suit of Great Dao Radiant Armor capable of nullifying all transformations involving matter, energy, time, and space.
At that point, unless a Supreme could crush him through sheer quantity of power, not even a Divine Emperor would be able to break through his armor, even if he stood still.
"In theory, all Supremes form their own universes by gathering cosmic matter. They do so at roughly the same speed and in similar ways. Which means, the older a Supreme is, the more material they've accumulated. That said, since they lose some of that quantity through battles with other Supremes and when patching up the Abyssal Rift, being older doesn't always mean being stronger..."
Li Pin paused. "Still, in most cases, ancient Supremes are definitely more powerful than newly ascended ones. That much is true. Even if I manage to simulate Supreme power once I return to the outside world, I'll still be at a disadvantage against those ancient Supremes unless I fully grasp Reincarnation and Karma."
Once he completed Karma and Reincarnation, any losses in quantity could be swiftly restored.
In other words, from that moment on, his power would only grow and no longer diminish.
In fact... it might not even depend on gathering matter from the cosmos anymore. Instead, it could evolve into a self-sustaining, exponentially compounding cycle of growth.
Of course, that was just a theory. Whether it would hold true still depended on whether he could truly comprehend those two forces and take that final step.
Among all the territories of the Human Race, the Astral World Research Institute stood as a force that remained aloof from worldly affairs.
Strictly speaking, it had only one true founder. But calling it the work of two wouldn't be wrong either.
They were Supreme Regalheaven and Transcendent Equiheaven.
Regalheaven devoted nearly all his time and energy to researching the Astral World and the universe itself, while Equiheaven assisted him by gathering and analyzing all relevant data.
Unlike other major factions that had physical headquarters in both the Astral and Material Worlds, the Astral World Research Institute operated only a few external branches, maintained by several Heavenly Emperors. Its true base lay deep within Abyssal Rift No.1.
This was where the Astral World, the universe, and the Void of Chaos intersected. It was also the point where the Material and Astral Worlds came closest to the Void of Chaos.
Here, a palace named Violet Nightsky drifted silently through the emptiness.
It was so close to the Void of Chaos that even the powers of the Material and Astral Worlds couldn't reach this place. Hence, not even the Eternal Oblivion Disaster that ravaged the Astral World had left the slightest trace here.
But now, two towering figures tore through the void and arrived outside the institute.
That they could travel effortlessly through a region so close to the Void of Chaos, with the laws of the universe flowing naturally from their very beings, made one thing clear. These two stood unchallenged at the peak of human authority.
They were Genesis and Primordial.
As the two Supremes approached the palace gates, a youthful figure, seemingly just past ten years of age and clad in child attendant robes, came out to greet them and led them inside.
Once they crossed the outer court and entered the main hall, a figure with the bearing of an immortal came into view. He sat cross-legged on a mat, quietly staring ahead.
What lay before him was not the usual hall decor, but a vortex, like a spatial rift, spinning in midair.
Within it, only chaos remained, as if everything had been erased.
Yet faintly, one could still sense... something was in there.
Upon seeing the figure, even Genesis and Primordial offered him a measure of respect. "Supreme Regalheaven."
He was Regalheaven, the undisputed, oldest existence within the Supreme Council.
Many among the Supremes speculated that he had already existed long before the shattering of the Ancient Astral World. Like the Void and other mysterious entities, he was believed to be one of the rare few who had survived that catastrophic era.
More than a few Supremes had, at one time or another, received his guidance. Even the very formation of the Supreme Council was closely tied to him. He was, by all accounts, one of its founding figures.
That alone was reason enough for the two Supremes to show him respect.
"Have you come regarding the anomaly in the Astral World?" Regalheaven asked.
Genesis and Primordial weren't surprised. While Regalheaven had devoted most of his time and energy to the study of the Astral World and this universe, that didn't mean he was oblivious to what was happening outside.
Genesis replied, "Yes. We've considered using special methods to reduce the number of Astral Gods and lessen the burden their immortality places on the Astral World. But triggering something as catastrophic as the Eternal Oblivion Disaster feels... extreme.
"We've already made contact with the Intelligent Lifeforms and the Chaos Clan, and we've also reached out to over a dozen Supremes from the Human Race. They've agreed to send Supremes to assist us."
He paused for a moment, then continued, "But with the accident involving the Three Calamities and Nine Tribulations having been so recent, we can't be sure whether having so many Supremes forcibly rewrite the rules of the Astral World might end up causing even greater harm.
"Among the Human Race, no, across the entire universe, when it comes to understanding the Astral World, if you claim second place, Supreme Regalheaven, no one would dare claim first. That's why we've come to ask for your insight, to help us clearly understand the current state of the Astral World, and whether there are hidden threats we've overlooked."
Regalheaven softly repeated the word, "Threats..."
After a long moment, he finally spoke again, "The Astral World... is indeed in crisis."
He revealed a strange look on his face, one that held both nostalgia and a quiet, unspoken sorrow.
Standing beside him, Primordial noticed the subtle shift in Regalheaven's expression and caught onto something. He asked, "Do you know of the Astral Lord Council?" ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by novel⸺fire.net
Regalheaven turned to look at him, but said nothing. Silence lingered.
Genesis, too, noticed something. His expression grew more serious as he quietly waited.
After several breaths, Regalheaven finally said, "You want to know who's behind the Astral Lord Council, don't you?"
Primordial's pupils dilated. "You know?"
"I do," Regalheaven answered calmly, with no hesitation, nor pause. "I was the one who brought them here."
