Chapter 135: Chapter 135- To The Other Planet
Year Two Hundred and Fifty of the Father God Calendar.
It was also coincided with the annual meetings between important people in the Hinon Federation. That was why the Giol Multipurpose Building became the main venue for it.
As a First-Class citizen, Charlene had to attend along with the other scientists and influential figures who could change the trajectory of civilization.
Currently, she was in a seat section which formed a semicircle if looked from above. In the middle of the semicircle was the podium where the important people could speak up.
The opening speech was short but eventful.
“…the technological advancement of the civilization on the Cerulean Planet has reached a mature state for interplanetary exploration in manned crew. We can potentially send people to the other planet in our star system. That is why we are here to discuss this in detail.”
As the speech by the MC ended, it was time for the others to speak up their opinion regarding this.
“As you all know, the other planets in our star system are not suitable for most living beings. Even though we can send manned crew there, but what should we do? Form a space colony? Change the entire planet through our Terraforming technology? All of this takes time and resources.
“Furthermore, we have found that there is an asteroid ring between Bultar and Ghowul, the fourth and fifth observable planets. According to our sensors, we have found that the asteroids in this ring contain many resources we need. That is why the first agenda is the funding of the space mining technology.”
At that statement, many wore a serious look.
It was because space mining was lucrative in terms of profit but the initial investment was also big.
Charlene tapped her armrest with her index finger. She tucked her pink hair behind her ear as her red eyes narrowed at the agenda.
The former was also important.
Sending people to another planet took a long time, as the distance between the planets was far. Fortunately, Charlene had been developing Warp Engine which could make the spaceship move closer to the speed of light.
Even with that, it still took time and resources for the people aboard. Even Charlene was weighing her choice. Should they develop on another planet first or get resources first?
Of course, if it were up to her, Charlene would choose the latter. They needed resources for almost everything, so she wanted the civilization to gain resources before undergoing an expansion outside of the Cerulean Planet.
‘Although Terraforming sounds good but it needs a lot of resources to make it work. Our current technology cannot make the entire planet habitable simply because the effect is only regional, not reaching the entire planet.’ Charlene thought.
‘Then we need to simply develop one that can change the entire surface of the planet, making it habitable. However, first, we need to enrich the soil with nutrients so that plants can grow. To do that…’ Charlene had several thoughts since she used parallel thinking, doing two things at once.
While she watched the agenda, her other thoughts devised something that could affect the entire civilization.
“Those who agree with the first statement, please cast your vote.”
Charlene did not cast her vote since she did not support doing that too soon. To her, it was natural for the civilization to amass resources first before undertaking any action, whether politically, militarily and scientifically.
But not everyone shared her sentiment and Charlene realized this. As expected, there was a small part of the Second-Class and First-Class citizen who cast their vote for sending manned crews to other planets.
Although, the number was so few that it could be said that the agenda could not come to pass.
“Then for the second statement, please cast your vote.”
This time, Charlene pressed a small button on the other side of her armrest. That was the button to cast the vote, and now she was part of the vote.
She knew that this place was filled with people who could see further and plan farther.
That was why the vote was overwhelming for the second statement. It meant that most of the important people in this place regarded gathering resources as their primary objective.
“Alright, the votes have come out. Now that the results have appeared, we will announce the main plan for this agenda.” The MC said out through the microphone which was spread to the megaphone around the room.
With the agenda reported through television and broadcast live, the entire civilization soon realized that the next expansion was coming.
That expansion was naturally going to another planet. But before that, they needed to build several swarms to the Violet Sun to gather energy, making mining facilities in deep space for resources as well as the route to get the resources through an intermediary, like a space station.
Resources on the Cerulean Planet were ultimately limited in numbers and even if there were renewable resources, it took quite some time to produce. Most of the resources needed were actually metal and metalloid.
It was because most of them went into producing spaceships or machinery.
“Welcome back.” Tatsumi said as he felt Charlene’s presence as she was coming home.
“You’d better vote properly.” Charlene focused her gaze on him but Tatsumi just let out a soft smile.
“Of course, as a Second-Class citizen, I carry the responsibility of directing the Federation in the direction that will benefit humanity and all civilization.” Tatsumi said this seriously.
Charlene as a First-Class citizen needed to attend the agenda directly, while the Second and Third-Class citizens could participate through the websites spread around the internet. The vote for the two statements was also done this way.
Tatsumi then extended his hand toward her. Seeing this, Charlene shook her head before letting her hand be grabbed by Tatsumi.
Then Tatsumi escorted Charlene to the living room to the sofa. After the two sat down, they started to talk about the current topic.
“What do you think about the vote today?” Charlene asked while focusing her gaze on Tatsumi.
“Well, those wise elders definitely suppress the idiot who exclaimed about restricting our free will based on our merit. The paradox of free will…” Tatsumi said but he could not help but sigh at the paradox.
To retain free will, one has to eradicate the will that wants to restrict free will. If so, would that really be called free will?
Tatsumi knew that but could not offer a better solution. Even the deceased also could not help him in this regard. That was why his sigh was filled with lamentation.
“Let’s not think about this for now. I want to know your thoughts regarding the agenda. What is the Federation’s plan for executing them?” Tatsumi asked this since he was not that well-versed in governance despite the experience of the deceased.
“We will just execute Protocol 777. It means that the Federation will launch mining robots to the Asteroid Belt and form a logistics line. We will also build space stations on Bultar and Ghowul since they were on the way to the Cerulean Planet and revolve a bit slower than our planet.” Charlene said without hesitation.
Tatsumi furrowed his brow as he wanted Charlene to continue.
But it was interrupted by Ame coming in with a tray of tea.
“Before you continue, let’s enjoy some hot tea.” Ame said as she gracefully placed one cup in front of Tatsumi and Charlene before letting one for herself.
“Oh, Ame. Good timing. We are discussing the moves that the Federation will make. Do you follow?” Tatsumi said that he just wanted to confirm that she had been listening.
Ame nodded as she had heard while heating the water for the tea.
Charlene then lifted her cup and sipped the hot tea. She felt slightly invigorated as she placed the cup down and let out a breath.
“Then let’s continue. For this, the resources for the life support system and consumables will be quite a lot. There are some concerns that the movements of the celestial body will affect our supply line.” Charlene said.
“That is why we need the spaceship to do a deep space exploration as well as secure the resources from the Asteroid Belt. What we lack on the Cerulean Planet, we will gather from our star system.” Tatsumi said as he also took a sip of the tea.
“Oh, that’s interesting.” Ame said while also sitting beside Tatsumi and also enjoyed the tea she had made.
“The spaceship needs to bring the mining robots and also prepare sufficient room for the resources they will gather. We are dealing with this issue even right now but one thing is for sure. We have been waiting for the moment when we can confidently say that we have conquered the other planets.” Charlene opened her mouth after some time.
Then the three just enjoyed sipping the tea without speaking.
After they enjoyed the tea, they continued.
“Fortunately, our business also includes manufacturing spaceships and robots so there will be profit to be gained.” Ame said.
“Right, about the expanding business…does that already reach the stage where we can affect the global scale?” Tatsumi asked since he only heard about the general direction and some small talks.
“Of course.” Ame beamed with joy at this. Then she continued, “We have been able to reach the global scale thanks to the opportunity you have acquired, dear husband.”
Tatsumi tilted his head to the side. He did not know which one move he had made that allowed this to happen.
“That’s true. He is indeed fortunate enough to be able to affect the entire market.” Charlene seemed to understand the whole thing.
“Ah, I see. It is when I introduce something after being seen as one of the strongest transcendents, right?” Tatsumi finally connected the dots and realized that he was actually quite famous on his own.
Add the fact that he endorsed some items from the Mikazuki family as well as their industry, which caused the chain reaction that affected many people across the Cerulean Planet.
“That’s right. Because of that, the business boomed and increased in size. It has become one of the major profits we have.” Ame said.
“Then I should be more careful in what I am doing.” Tatsumi sighed in relief.
Currently, only three of them were in the house. Tetsuya went to the Royal Sacred Tree of the Elves to be with Rihana while Ivana was secluding herself in her laboratory.
At that, Tatsumi realized that his children were already independent and should not worry too much about them. They even participate in the numerous Star Battles and gain experience from that. He decided to let them go when they were ready and this was the result.
“Of course. Otherwise, you will create a strange trend among the people. You don’t want that to happen, do you?” Charlene said as she looked at Tatsumi intently.
“I will not do strange things that will affect the entire population.” Tatsumi said with exasperation.
Dian looked at the Technology Tree progress and realized that it had reached the early T3 Technology Tree progress. This fast progress was because of the Auxiliary Card he had inserted into the slots.
With Advance Insight, the humans on the Cerulean Planet had gained greater insight and turned it into something that changed the civilization. The technology introduced caused several upheavals in society as well as space exploration.
“They are ready to extend their resource gathering to the Asteroid Belt that formed a ring in the star system.” Dian said as he checked with the real-time events in his system panels.
He knew that the overall progress was going in the direction he wanted. That was certain.
But what Dian was looking for was something else.
He was looking at the person who tried to improve the Transcendent Tree.
From the body of this person, a certain intent came off. This person was staying at the Transcendent Academy for a long time and tried numerous Body Refining methods.
After being shown the peak of Body Refining at the First Rank, this person tried to improve the Body Refining Technique.
“Good! I finally unlocked the mystery of the peak of Body Refining of the First Rank!” That person Dian had seen spoke in a euphoric tone.
The person who tried to improve the Body Refining Technique was none other than Maito Dai.
After seeing the refined body of Tatsumi after examination, Maito Dai had several epiphanies and tried to modify his Body Refining Technique to the limit of the First Rank.
“After this, I need to get ready for the Body Refining Method for the Second Rank. That little guy has finally achieved the next realm so it is a must that I also need to update the Body Refining Technique.” Maito Dai smiled at the thought of Tatsumi reaching the next realm.
That was an earth-shattering change for the entire transcendents world.
Dian was satisfied with the progress that kept up with the change. Adaptive Body allowed one to be more resilient and could even adapt to new changes. This was a necessary ability when one embarked on a journey into deep space.
Dian also knew that the Revolutionary Realm was still a superhuman, super but still human. Only when one reached the Third Rank Transcendent Path that his race could roam the void.
“You are looking at the changes your newly acquired Auxiliary Cards bring, right?” Frie suddenly appeared right in front of Dian who was sitting on his throne.
“What’s wrong with that? This is all preparation to spread into other planets other than the mother planet. Or do you want your race to take part in it?” Dian asked.
So far, the crews of the spaceship were mostly humans and dwarves. It was rare for other races to be included in the crew that went beyond the Cerulean Planet.
Now, Dian wanted the human race to include the Elves, Glings, Giants, Birdman and Lizardfolk. At least the race with similar height first, so that the spaceship could accommodate them.
“Of course. But would your race allow it, though?” Frie considered this important aspect.
If she wanted her race to develop, they needed to work together with the humans.
“If I send an order, they will. Don’t worry about it. Everyone, did you hear what I said?” Dian said while increasing his voice in the latter part.
Soon, everyone appeared in front of Dian.
“What are you saying!? Is that true?” Chikara was modifying her Gling to be able to carry as much of the Glings as possible, forming a nascent form of her own biological spaceship.
But if she could analyze the spaceship created by humans and dwarves, the progress could accelerate.
Dian stared at Chikara and said, “Of course that is true. I need everyone and every race to be able to roam the starry sky sooner. How can I leave the other races?”
“Well, my race can give everyone some help.” Leif said with a smile as he patted his big and bulging stomach.
“It will be difficult for my Undead Race to do this but can you give me some place?” Ghylea said.
“That will be doable with the Necromancer’s Trait transcendent. But it will take some time. There are hardly any living beings bigger than single-celled on the other planet. Do you want your Undead Race to experience the void environment?” Dian clarified before asking for confirmation.
“Even so, it lets the Undead Race get used to the void environment. Please!” Ghylea pleaded.
“Fine, I’ll tell the relevant people.” Dian sighed.
“Sadly, it will be difficult for my race to leave the planet.” Arowana said.
Dian knew the reason. The merfolk were accustomed to living in water, so boarding a spaceship would prove to be difficult.
“Please be patient. I am sure that there will be a day where even the merfolk will be able to soar to the starry sky.” Dian comforted Arowana.
As for the Birdman and Lizardfolk, they could become candidates for the civilization to bring into the spaceship since their build was similar to humans.
Mazdari and Smirth had their eyes light up. They did not expect that the opportunity for their races to fly to the starry sky to be accomplished this soon.
Goliath did not say anything but there was an awkwardness between Goliath and Dian since the Giant was too large to be carried into the spaceship.
Dian knew that everyone in the Planet Master Space loved their races dearly and that was why he needed as many of the races available as possible.
Their capability was excellent and he was sure that the cooperation between races could be cultivated through similar situations and conditions, even if it took time.
“Let’s inform our races about this.” Dian closed the discussion with this one.
Everyone then did what they could to inform their races about the quota for becoming the crews of the spaceships of the civilization.
“So what you are saying is that the other races need to be included?” Tatsumi met Dian in his sleep and knew that this had to happen to deepen the sense of belonging to the Cerulean Planet.
“Yes. Not only that but it can also help the civilization if we have experienced space exploration together. Who knows, maybe we will find something like a Scientific Inheritance or Transcendent Heritage.” Dian said kindly to Tatsumi.
“Alright. I think I know what to do. Leave it to me, Father God.” Tatsumi said with confidence as his eyes flickered.
As the one whose influence spread far and wide, his words carried weight and he knew this.
That was why this task was handled by him. If it were him, the other people and races would listen to him even for just a moment.
