Chapter 354: Chapter 354
As a bridge linking the Material and Spiritual Worlds, the human Spiritual Body allows them to connect with everyone in the entire world.
It even encompasses all the energy interactions between people, animals, plants, minerals, and planets within the jurisdiction of the Starlight Body.
In other words, Transcendents can interconnect everything through the Starlight Body and the Spiritual World!
Therefore, a series of professions such as [Executioner], [Spirit Medium], [Tomb Guardian], [Pallbearer], and so on, can practice astral projection through their Starlight Bodies. However, this is only possible after they master the corresponding techniques.
If one achieves the state of "heartbeats intertwine," having perfect control over their physical body and reaching the spiritual "Flow State," they can project their Starlight Body. They can even do this while maintaining consciousness, multitasking with their mind and astral projection to traverse the spirit realm or kill in dreams.
If their Spirituality is strong enough, they can be omnipresent in an instant.
Of course, it’s best to have protective artifacts like the [Sovereign Orb] to safeguard the vulnerable Spiritual Body from harm.
Once proficient in this ability, one can not only kill in dreams. They can also forcibly seize the bodies of humans or animals with lower cultivation realms after successfully invading their Dream Realms.
It’s quite similar to ghost possession.
But one must also pay heed to the taboos of using this ability:
"The Dream Realms of humans are heavily guarded; it’s one of the places where a person’s spiritual power is strongest.
Unless one can overpower the other in strength or find a way to make them voluntarily open the door, the mind’s defensive powers will naturally form complex labyrinths. These include fortresses and all other forms of defensive structures.
Only by breaking these defenses can one truly harm the other’s soul.
Without powerful artifacts, one should be cautious about entering the Dream Realm of a peer Transcendent."
With the taboos firmly in mind, Byron’s Starlight Body suddenly turned into a rainbow light that dove into the water, entering the body of a Man-Eater Shark.
These sharks had been fed with the Blood of Transformation and his own blood. This naturally created a master-servant relationship, leaving them powerless against their master. Their bodies were easily taken over.
Transformed into a shark, Byron felt he could precisely control its body to do anything.
He immediately flicked his tail to accelerate. He felt the cool seawater passing over his gills and body, then swirling at his tail, propelling the streamlined body forward at high speed.
Compared to flying with [Storm Wings], it was another novel experience.
After circling the Fleet twice, he shot back up as a streak of colored light into the body of a Sea Swallow overhead. After a slight descent, he flapped his wings and soared into the Sky.
Fighting against the wind and rain in the Sky.
Subsequently, all the nearby marine life became Byron’s playthings, unfettered whether soaring in the Sky or diving in the Ocean, utterly carefree.
He seemed to undergo Myriad Transformations, experiencing the sensations and ways of life of different creatures.
He gained a deeper insight into what it means "not to be human."
It was a while before he left the body of an octopus under the water and returned to the ship. He then manifested opposite his physical body as another identical "Byron."
He stroked his chin and muttered to himself:
"This ability has many excellent aspects; its only flaw is that the physical body can’t enter the Dream Realm with it."
"It can’t be used as a means of escape."
"This is mainly due to the limitations of the traditional path of the Ladder of Glory, which doesn’t involve the transmutation of the physical body."
"Only by acquiring forbidden knowledge related to the Dream Realm can one also transform the body along with bloodline ascension. This allows for free conversion between material and Spiritual Body forms."
"Unfortunately, that is not my primary focus."
"Compared to the wonders of the Dream Realm, the [Blood of Immortality] from the Night Demon path doesn’t seem so extraordinary anymore."
"Between the two paths, I still prefer immortality a little more."
"Still, this ability is indeed very useful for equipping secret execution squads and intelligence agencies. I’ll have to dedicate more effort to the Star Chamber Court in the future."
Reilly Mark, the Star Chamber Court’s number two Executioner, was ensnared just like Teresa.
From its primary function, this institution closely resembles an intelligence agency. It mainly targets domestic Nobility and the bureaucratic, legislative elite.
Since Byron’s grandfather, Henry V, established this institution, the selected personnel have mostly been commoners. These commoners had no entanglements with the Nobility.
That remained unchanged when they began to support the York Family.
The biggest difference between these people and the Land Nobles is that one group is propertyless, while the other possesses property.
After becoming addicted to the stock market, Reilly Mark, like Teresa, walked the same path. It was a road of no return, speculating with public funds to "borrow a hen to lay eggs."
Unfortunately, in the end, his gamble failed spectacularly; he even lost his bread-and-butter capabilities.
After Byron took one of his core abilities, he could only claim his Starlight Body was damaged. He then left his field position to become an "Executioner" in the real world.
"We can’t rush; we have to do this gradually."
"Let Reilly Mark slowly drag his colleagues into the mire. When the opportunity comes, we’ll take down the entire Star Chamber Court in one fell swoop!"
"As long as I use ’The Leverage Technique,’ I have no worries that they won’t comply obediently."
At this moment, Jacqueline, who had been watching from the side, walked over curiously.
Now, the "Chameleon" had finally changed into a white dress. She slipped black stockings onto her slender legs and stepped into black high heels, adding a touch of girlish mischief to her look.
She extended a slender finger and curiously poked Byron’s Starlight Body.
It was as if she popped a bubble. His entire being turned into gaseous light, rushing back into Byron’s body and fusing with his Spirituality as one.
Whether it was Jacqueline’s own "Shadow Robe" or this "Dream Execution" technique, they all came from Byron’s trickery and deceit.
While enjoying the benefits, she also grew more wary of the outside world.
She couldn’t help but earnestly seek advice from the expert in this path:
"Cousin, the outside world is dangerous now, full of pitfalls, and one can accidentally encounter bad people.
What should we simple little girls do when dealing with strangers?"
Byron looked his cousin up and down, utterly failing to see how this individual, whose skills in picking up girls far surpassed his own, could possibly be considered naïve.
The hearts you’ve stolen from girls outnumber the transcendent abilities I’ve scammed!
Afraid of encountering bad people? You’re the real heart stealer, aren’t you?
But he decided to give her some advice from his professional perspective:
"Alright, let your cousin, an expert who loves setting up schemes and specializes in leading others into them, teach you a principle.
People can never earn money outside their own sphere of understanding. When you are tempted by huge benefits beyond your comprehension, you must be careful.
This is especially true in the Supernatural World, where various abilities emerge endlessly. When an Old Deng tells you to consider the bigger picture, it’s very likely they *are* the bigger picture, and you’re not even part of it;
When someone tells you to spare no cost, you often end up being that very cost;
And those who don’t publicize their efforts but silently make big moves on the down-low may have advantages they’re not willing to share with you;
Finally, if someone is promoting something aggressively, like I do with my ’pig-butchering’ schemes, it’s likely there’s a giant pit they need you to fill.
As an innocent Honest Man, remembering these rules may not make you instantly rich and famous, but it will prevent your life’s hard work from being for naught."
As she nodded like a little chicken pecking at rice, Byron suddenly changed the subject:
"Of course, all I’ve said is void if there’s another major premise.
That is, the person getting you to do these things isn’t a bad person. Instead, they are someone of impeccable reputation, someone you can truly trust and rely on completely. The source of thɪs content is 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵※𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮※𝓷𝓮𝓽
Everything they ask you to do is probably truly for your own good.
Silly sister, you’re too young to handle the kind of troubles money brings. Why not deposit all your pocket money with your cousin? Save an amount each year; it’s called financial insurance. Here, I can offer you an annual interest rate of...
Hey, why are you running? I haven’t finished speaking!" Am I really so unreliable in your eyes?
Jacqueline answered him with her actions.
Clutching her little purse, she dashed out. To protect her wallet, which was targeted by the big bad wolf, she even opened a pitch-black circular void with a sweep of her hand and vanished without a trace.
Leaving behind on the deck of the Golden Deer just one sentence:
"Cousin, I’m going ahead to scout the battlefield; I’ll give you the coordinates later!"
After the sublimation of her bloodline was complete, the "Shadow Robe" had become an instinct of her Shadow Dragonfolk physique. She was able to conjure Shadow Magic with ease.
This was much more convenient than how a Pawnbroker borrows power from ability cards.
The next moment, she jumped out of the shadow, following her mother’s coordinates to the skies above the Windward Strait.
A fierce naval battle had already broken out there.
