Chapter 46: Chapter 46

After covering him with something, she stood and went back to the bathroom. It was only when she stood in front of a mirror that she realized how transparent her top looked. Goodness, was this how she looked with Omar right there? She looked as though she was seducing him. Stifling a groan, she stood under the warm shower and washed her body off. The water felt relaxing flowing over her head and body. Finally, when he finished bathing, she took a towel and wrapped herself in it, walked out of the room.

She realized that Omar was already asleep and so all the tension that had gathered dissipated just like that. Taking her time, she dried herself and used her skin products. It had been so long since she had taken care of her skin. She was always in a rush and tired. Her face had even grown thinner, thankfully, now she could start taking things in stride. Even though her job was not flourishing as much, she was slowly getting there. Besides her daughter was nearly waking up and then she would be free of all those tubes.

She directly stood and removed the towel while looking for her pajamas. Since Omar was unwell, she could not sleep far from him. And looking deep within, neither did she want to sleep far from him subconsciously. It was while she was bending looking for her pajamas that Omar turned to her side. In a hazy hue, he seemed to see Lisa bending over naked somewhere. In his feverish mind, he could not help but want for the dream to go on.

While he kept turning, as though uncomfortable, he started uttering her name smoothly, and even though it was not loud, Lisa still heard it and felt flustered. Quickly she picked a dress and just slipped it on. Moving to his side, she lifted her hand and felt his head which was burning up. He was having a fever. Why did it suddenly become so? Suddenly, Omar turned to look at her, and even though his eyes looked glazy, she knew he was in between awake and asleep, so she did not bother removing her hand.

“Lisa, I love you. Please don’t leave. I’m sorry for everything, it is all my fault.” He said as he tried to hug her hand close to his chest. His eyes looked glassy with a sheen of moisture covering them. ‘When I met you, I indeed wanted to have revenge, but not after we started dating. You were so far burrowed in my heart; how could I bear to hurt you? Hurting you felt like hurting myself. When I saw your dad in the hospital it felt like my insides were burning and twisting.’ At this point, it was as though, he was afraid that she would go and therefore held her even tighter.

‘I love you, Soo, much, I’m sorry I did it to you. I just did not know he would do it to you. I had already stopped it please trust me. Shivering, he looked pitiful like a cub left in the cold to fend for itself and it tugged at her heartstrings yet at this moment, she could not help but cry. Yes, it hurt her so much that it felt like she was going to die. Who was he to say that he didn’t want to do it anymore? Then why did he still do it? and why did he speak as though he was not aware of what had happened?

Attempting, to slip her hand away so that she could go and get the medicine, he held her even more desperately. Shaking his head, he was moving frantically trying to burrow her hand into his body.

Lisa, please don’t leave me. I promise I’ll make it up to you. I’ll be good. While he mumbled this, eventually, a teardrop fell from his eyes onto the mattress. Then another and another and before she knew it, he was crying. It made her feel pain. At this vulnerable point, she knew that he would reveal bits of himself but not like this. Cradling his head to her chest, she tried soothing him, because she was pretty sure that the fever was accompanied by a headache and if he cried, it would only get worse.

Trying to take deep breaths so that she could calm down, she rocked him until he had calmed down significantly and she could successfully detach herself to go and get the medicine. After getting them, she fed them to him and he took them groggily without even realizing it. getting a towel and water in a basin, she started taking care of him. He looked so alone and weak. She had always wondered who was related to him and why did he seem so alone.

After a while, the fever was starting to go down and she could finally relax even if it was just a little. Then just as she had started to close her eyes, he started to thrash around, as though he was in a lot of pain.
