It’s okay baby girl, we’ll get through this together. I know it.
And so, the tears receded and by the end of the night, she was wholly back to her jovial self. Though as she lied on the bed, she could not help the niggling feeling that Omar was just surveying things, whatever he wanted was still on the way, and he was going to do it. Somehow, she finally breathed evenly and sunk into the sweet oblivion of sleep.
Lisa woke up feeling well rested and when she remembered that today was the first day that Marya would be going to school, she felt excited. And so, after setting things out, she woke Marya up and started preparing her. they both sank into the bathtub full of bubbles and after cleaning her, she had to quickly wash herself. Marya kept bubbling with excitement as she dressed her. the uniform looked spectacular on her, the checked dress stopping just at her knees.
Her hair held in two pony tails, she looked absolutely beautiful. Once she was dressed too, they moved to the kitchen, where she started off breakfast as Marya watched some cartoon on the tv. Come on baby, who wants pancakes. Lisa shouted as she brought the pancakes to the dining room.
Me, Alex said as she entered the room while sniffing around like a dog.
Ha-ha Alex, when will you stop sniffing like a dog every time, I make pancakes.
Picking a cup, she joined them on the table, before dramatically placing the cup on the table and rubbing her ayes humorously.
Oh, my goodness, who is this princess.

And where is she going. Alex teased as she pretended to crouch towards her. getting to her, she lifted her up as she peppered her with kisses. My baby is going to school. Then as if something had gone off in her head. She started mumbling. Where is my phone, we need a picture?
She moved to her room, leaving Marya and Lisa laughing in her wake and she was back holding the phone triumphantly. We are going to get pictures. Come on baby, come stand for me. Let me take pictures. Like a good girl, Marya posed with hands akimbo, something she came to know Alex had told her. then she made a pout. She looked so adorable that she could not help the surge of joy that leapt within her at being her mom. Managing to keep them away from the phone, she had them eat and before long they were already set to go.
Alex had offered to take to the school and watch as she took her daughter to get admitted. And so, it was that in another thirty minutes, they were already outside the school. A bubbly teacher welcomed them and quickly, the formalities were done once she paid tuition for her. Alex took one last picture of her and her daughter before Marya walked om to join the rest of the pupils. The surprising thing was she did not cry nor cling to them. She just waved to them as she went and joined the rest of the children.
Long after Marya had disappeared into the classes, Lisa turned to leave and go. It was at that time that when she was turning, she saw Omar, with a child in his hand walking towards the school. Trying to make herself small, she hurried Alex back into their car and she watched him wave goodbye to the child. Who was she kidding, she knew that Omar was nice when he wanted to be? Take for instance how tender he was to the child. How would their life have been if he had been part of it? She found herself wandering even as Omar looked right pats their car.
Thanking God, Lisa revved the car and within a short while, she was well on her way to her office. When Alex dropped her off, she hugged her and then went to great tony, wo was already there. She did not even have words to describe how good it felt to go into her own place at this moment, where she was starting things off.
Good morning boss, how are you.
I’m great thanks tony. How about you,
I’m good too boss, welcome.
By the way would you like some coffee
That would be heavenly tony thank you. Please get me just one cup.
Settling in her office, she twisted her neck and stretched her knuckles before taking her dairy and noting dates of the major events. She realized that Anthony had placed a book in her office which outlined different dates for her appointments. Entering the dates and time for her appointments, she proceeded to note her things to do list as for the day. She needed to get the supplies and then go the party venue to inspect everything.
When tony swung in with the cup of coffee, she could have just hugged him. Thank you very much tony, I appreciate this.
No problem boss, and it’s just the way you wanted it. That statement was cut shot, when she saw him looking at her in a rather peculiar way.
Tony had stood transfixed at how Lisa had taken her cup of coffee, blew the top and inhaled the scent all the while closing her eyes. Then she had sipped and the intake of the coffee had him stand still. The way she enjoyed her coffee was rejuvenating. So, he was drawn out of his shock when she opened her mouth towards him. Yes tony, anything else?
Feeling heat creep up his face, he scrambled a no and moved out the office and left Lisa smiling at the young man. It was so obvious that he liked her and she felt flattered by the attention. She however drew the smile shot because she knew that she did not have the time for it. Nor the implications behind it.
