Chapter 262: Chapter 262: "Just Let Them Die!"

"Where's my pass?!"

"Does it count as a successful prison break if they all die? Or if this prison explodes? Or if I kill you?"

"Stop wasting time already. Let's get to the point. If you're really [Life], I must commend your patience for putting up with all this."

Lu Ce stood in the empty central area, spreading his hands in mockery, the pink mask on his face displaying an infuriating expression. He then surveyed his surroundings - all the goblins had formed a circle around him, leaving a large empty space in the middle.

While that voice conversed with him, the goblin army seemed to receive some command, scattering to give them space to talk. Strangely enough, though Lu Ce had slaughtered countless goblins during his time underground, looking around now, he couldn't see any traces. The endless sea of green figures seemed like a brand new army, untouched by war, now surrounding Lu Ce like a pre-battle interrogation.

Truly befitting of a prison - anyone here would feel like a prisoner.

"Heh." After Lu Ce finished speaking, the voice of [Life] sounded again, its previous hesitation seeming like shock at the other party's words. "So you're saying you want to play the villain here, is that it?"

Lu Ce slowly raised his head, the smile on his pink mask widening. As the mask representing the pinnacle of evil, smiles rarely appeared on it. But this time, it displayed a grin rivaling that of Greed's.

"Hahahaha! What you said actually made me laugh."

"How childish you sound, like a monkey waving a scepter around."

[Life]: "......"

The voice fell silent for a moment, refusing to respond to this blatant provocation. This was part of Lu Ce's plan - he knew full well that unless this was truly a god, it wouldn't dare claim divinity directly. Just like the female doctor before, or the slime in the casino, none dared claim to be Delight's true form.

In other words, Lu Ce was purely insulting it now, knowing full well it couldn't retaliate.

"Nothing to say? I've rested enough. Shall we continue then?"

"These green things seem endless, right? Then let's start killing. You do your thing, I'll do mine. Anything else you want to add?"

The voice representing [Life] now carried clear emotion - Lu Ce's provocation had definitely succeeded. With a condescending tone, it said:

"People like you are so convenient. I don't even need to worry - you're already a villain."

"I just wonder... what would those people outside, dying because of your schemes, feel if they heard your words now?"

"Those three fools, actually working for someone like you—"

Before it could finish, Lu Ce interrupted:

"Then just let them die."

"What are you blabbering about? What point are you trying to make? Can't you shut up?"

"Good people, bad people, human or not."

"They should save their own lives if they can. If not, let them all die. All I care about is winning, about reaching the top, about—"

As he spoke, Lu Ce glanced at the now-full Hourglass of Life in his hand and took a deep breath. Whatever schemes the other side had - whether psychological warfare or stalling - his condition was ready now. Earlier, possibly because he was conversing with a divine-level entity, he'd removed his earphones. Now he put them back on.

Without further ado, he raised his gun with his right hand while activating the gaze-converging weapon with his left. Instantly, all the goblins turned to look at him, taking one synchronized step forward!

The resonance made the entire underground tunnel tremble. But what followed was an even more terrifying vibration - the roar of Hell's Roar. Without another word, Lu Ce opened fire, ending the conversation.

Large groups of goblins were blown apart. Lu Ce observed carefully this time - their green blood splattered on walls and floor, only to be rapidly absorbed and disappear. As for the severed limbs, he barely had time to see them before the next wave of goblins surged forward, trampling the previous remains out of sight.

Only now did he become certain - these goblins were literally "endless."

[Life]: "......"

After Lu Ce's words and immediate violent response, the voice representing Life fell silent, no longer speaking. Because it too was puzzled.

This prison, this game, was originally its pasture - or one of its pastures. This place wasn't meant to accept "villains." What it wanted were pure, virtuous, powerful lives.

So how did this person get in here...?

This guy seemed like pure scum. It genuinely didn't know how to handle this.

Amid Lu Ce's massacre, his earphones crackled to life again with a voice from outside:

"Hey, can you hear me? Seventh attempt."

"I hear you. Speak!"

"Did something happen down there? Are you okay?"

Xie Antong felt relieved when the connection finally went through. Earlier, losing contact with "Sin" had panicked her instantly. They all knew this prison had conspiracies, divine interference - meaning even the strongest players could fall!

"Some minor issues, but nothing serious."

With barely a thought, Lu Ce concealed his conversation with Life and the prison's true nature.

"Those green things are multiplying. Getting hard to handle."

"The wall remains impenetrable. The conduits inside briefly disappeared earlier, but still no breakthrough."

"They've reappeared now. Any useful intel for me?"

"None." Lu Ce responded bluntly, almost lazily, leaving Xie Antong speechless.

"But then our actions outside are meaningless."

"All these prisoners dying aimlessly now... Or are you working on something? Should we buy you more time?"

"Whatever." Lu Ce's voice held no pretense, cold and decisive - as if speaking to both Xie Antong and the presence here. "Just let them die."

"That was the plan from the beginning, wasn't it?"
