Chapter 25: Chapter 25

We finally got to Drake's house. He stepped out of the car without saying a single word to me.

I followed behind him and got into his home.

"Oh my! My! Drake what happened to you", Max gasped as he saw Drake.

He moved closer to him worriedly looking at him.

"Nothing much just got shot", he said smiling a bit.

"Hope it's not too deep", Max said scanning his Drake's arms looking so worried.

He glanced over to me and threw a worried look at me.

"Are you okay?", Max said as he embraced me.

"I'm fine now", I said.

"I'm going to my room", Drake finally said.

I looked at him and found he has been acting strange after we departed the hospital.

"Are you okay?", I asked as I ran up to him.

He looked at me in the eyes and only nodded leaving me alone where I was standing.

I brushed my hair back and sighed.

What's wrong with him, I thought within me.

"Do you feel like eating, I prepared dinner", Max said as he came up to me.

"No thanks!!", I said as I jogged up the staircase to my previous room.

I opened the door and found out everything was the same as I left it.

I went over to the closest and found some clothes. I took a shirt and threw it on the bed.

I undressed and went into the bathroom to have a hot bath which I spent hours in.

I came out after drying my hair with the towel. I wore the shirt and jumped on the warm bed that felt soft near my skin.

Before I knew it I slept off.

I woke up from the buzzing sound made from the alarm.

I yawned and made my way to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and had my bath.

I got into my room and went over the wardrobe to find something comfortable to wear to work.

I  wore a white shirt and black skirt. I packed my hair up in a ponytail.

I went downstairs to the dining. Hoping I would see Drake. I saw Max setting the table.

"Uhm! Good morning", I said as I sat on the chair.

"Good morning beauty", he said.

He served me breakfast and I ate silently.

"Have you seen Drake", I asked him.

He looked at me and nodded.

"He said he won't be able to come to work and you should cover up for him", he said.

"Can I see him?", I asked.

"No! He said he wants to be alone", he said packing the plates.

"Oh ok!!", I said and nodded.

I stood up and was about to leave.

"The driver will be waiting for you outside", Max said.

"Thank you!", I said and went out the big penthouse.

I went over to where the black limousine was parked.

"Good morning Miss", the driver greeted me as he opened the door for me.

"Good morning", I replied and got in.

"Thanks", I said as he closed the door for me and he nodded.

He got in and drove me off to work.

We got to work and I went into the building.

Everyone was shocked to see me.

The receptionist ran over to me and hugged me which took me by surprise.

"My God Amanda!!", She said as she pulled me in for a hug.

"Good morning", I said smiling at her.

"How are you? I was really worried when I heard you were kidnapped", she said.

"Am fine now", I told her.

I signed and went over to the elevator, I got to the first floor and met Mrs. Wood  on the way.

"Amanda!!", She said as the files in her hands fell off.

I quickly bent down and packed it for her.

She hugged me tightly.

"Thank goodness you are safe now", she said.

I smiled at her and went into my office.

I did my work as usual and made schedules.

I worked really hard that I forgot lunch.

I checked my time and found out it was past closing hour.

I packed the documents and files and made my way out of the building.

The driver was already waiting for me. I got in and we drove back to Drake's home.
