“I know that, but we’re still trying to understand each other.”

Caroline took a deep breath.

“I know you have plenty of time, but you have to keep going for the sake of building your relationship, if you just dwell on this problem you will get nothing.”

I nodded once slowly in response to Caroline’s emotional voice, but she was right, we need progress in this relationship.

This topic stopped when Andrew approached us and reminded us to immediately follow the photo moment together, I pressed this issue for a while in my mind and improved my mood, I didn’t want to show a face full of thoughts when taking pictures later.

After the photo session ended, Caroline and Andrew were leaving for their honeymoon, all of us and the invited guests who were still in the party area gathered in front of my terrace to let the bride go. A shiny black Mercedes Benz was parked in the yard not far from where we all stood, a bouquet of white roses adorned the front of the car, I gave my special hug once again when Caroline was about to head to the car she would be riding.

“Open the gift after arriving at the hotel, you understand?”

I reminded him of the present, three days before the wedding Caroline was eager to see my present but I wouldn’t let her it wouldn’t be interesting if she saw it. And my guess is correct, Caroline and Andrew are going on vacation to Barbados, Caroline loves nature tours I’m sure she’ll call once she finds out what I gave her.

“Always, Ana, we will always be sisters.”

I nodded with my feelings of emotion Caroline cried first and I calmed her down, I don’t understand the culture of crying on wedding days, but maybe it’s not culture I don’t know, I gave her my handkerchief she gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and on her face.

“Now go, enjoy your honeymoon and don’t forget to call me.”

I always need her, my days will feel incomplete without her, Caroline nodded then moved to hug Rani after that to Ronald, her father and Sofia’s mother. Caroline threw her bouquet of chrysanthemums before getting into the car, my mother-in-law with a happy face caught it, Rani and I looked at the graceful woman with a look of disbelief we giggled amusedly seeing her who immediately got excited because of that.

We waved at the wedding car as it left the yard, I will miss my psychic mistress, the queen who wants to know everything, my professional reporter and my sister in crime.

“Now, tell me what happened yesterday.”

Rani stood in front of me and Sean when Caroline and Andrew’s car was out of sight, I bit my lower lip on the inside, well, her attitude was not much different from Caroline’s always thirsty for information.

“That’s none of your business, Rani.”

Sean looked at Rani with his cold gaze, my senses nodded in agreement I folded my lips into my mouth, then grabbed Sean’s hand. Rani rolls her eyes and puts her hands on her waist she puts on a face ready to argue with him. Oh Lord! It’s the wrong situation if they have to argue.

“Sean, stop acting when you can handle everything on your own.”

Rani suppressed all the words in her words. Sean frowned, then shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

“I can handle it, mind your own business.”

Rani groaned in frustration, her hands massaged her forehead, Sean pulled my hand gently for me to follow her, we said goodbye to everyone who was still at home when we were going home. I know that Rani is just too worried about us and Sean is annoyed by her brother’s always wanting to interfere. I gave my farewell hugs to my mother, mother and father-in-law before going home.

“Rani is only worried about us.”

Sean sighed heavily, his lips forming a straight line. We were in the SUV heading to the apartment, a pretty sunny Sunday in late summer.

“Well, she’s always worried about everything.”

Sean pouted, my lips twitched from laughing seeing him like this, he is adorable when he pouts I turn his face towards me using one hand.

“She loves you.”

His golden netra looked at me confused and his brows looked furrowed, I don’t know what he was thinking he didn’t seem to understand my words just now.

“What??”

I wonder what he looks confused about but he doesn’t seem to want to talk about it I give him a light peck on his lips my hand moves to caress his face, recording every detail of his face in my mind and storing it well.

“Can we see Doctor Merlin on Saturday?”

Sean nodded, his golden eyes looked at me curiously and slowly the fear emerged, I grabbed his hand and kissed it. I know what kind of fear he has, it’s hard to convince someone if he feels that he deserves to be left because of his bad past.

“Stop that,” I said guessing what was on his mind right now, it’s progress, I can tell what he’s thinking though not all of it, My Inner Goddess lifted her chin with an arrogant expression while my senses heaved a heavy sigh. His gaze turned sad as he leaned on my hand which was currently on his face.

“I love you, Sean, always and forever.”

I kissed the corner of his lips to calm and reassure him, his face seemed to be scratched by my words and it hurt me a little, does he not believe me?? My poor man my lost big lost boy, all the cruel things he went through eroded his trust in anyone even in himself, strengthen my mentality to face his current reaction.

“I want to go to the beach this afternoon, can we go?”

I used the distraction technique I had learned during my time with him.

Sean smiled and his eyes brightened, Thank God! This seems to have worked the mood to change and I smiled gratefully at the changing atmosphere between us right now.

“No bikinis.”

I laughed and nodded agreeing to the ban, besides I don’t want a picture of me wearing a bikini in a magazine, my mom could have a heart attack and Ramia’s mom might fire me as her daughter-in-law.

Sean carried me in front of his body as we were about to enter the main door of the apartment.

“Well, looks like you’ve put on some weight,” he said as he lowered me by the bed in our room, I glared at him. No way!

“Is that true??”

I rushed in front of the vanity mirror to observe my figure, and Sean laughed as I scowled at my body in the mirror he came up to me and stood behind me. Weight is a sensitive topic for me, I’m afraid Sean won’t like me anymore when my body turns fat and becomes ugly, he wraps his arms around me.

“Are you going to leave me when I get fatter and get ugly?”

I looked at him with my curious eyes Sean smiled then shook his head slowly.

“It never occurred to me to leave you, maybe you think so.”

Unlucky! My Inner Goddess glared at me because of my inappropriate choice of questions, I swallowed my saliva roughly, her golden net was scratched by fear, I let go of one of my hands then put it on her face I gave my best smile to wipe her fear away.

“You want me to go?”

Sean shook his head his arms tightened around me he buried his face in my neck oh! My poor handsome man, I know neither of us will ever be able to leave each other. Sean kissed my neck then my open shoulders, then looked back at me through the mirror the fear was gone and I felt relieved.
