Chapter 32: Chapter 32

Ronald came when me, Sean, my mom, and Caroline were having lunch at mom’s house this afternoon. I, who was standing next to Sean, smiled at the sight of the man, he came over and hugged me, lifted me up and twirled my body. I was surprised by this ridiculous behavior.

“Wow! Ana, you look amazing, you’re getting prettier,” said Ronald who made me blush. I punched his stomach playfully and he chuckled, his gaze then turned to Sean, I followed the direction of his gaze. Sean looked at him with disapproval, oh, my God! Don’t let this possessive master get angry, he’s definitely not happy with the scene just now.

“Hi Man! Nice to meet you sorry for not being there for your wedding you know, I’m a little unwilling to give Ariana to you.” Ronald shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly then walked over to my mom and gave a short kiss on one cheek, I glanced at Sean with a worried look. Caroline chuckled while rolling her eyes.

“Ron, you’re so disrespectful with brother-in-law,” Caroline scolded, Ronald then walked over to Caroline’s chair and ruffled the woman’s hair. Caroline snorted with an annoyed face, Ronald smiled lopsidedly and sat down in the chair next to his sister.

I offered Sean the bacon which had been sliced not too thickly, he smiled and nodded while looking at me, I put some bacon on his plate then gave him a short kiss on the lips, he kissed me back and we smiled his eyes lit up with love, I also took a few slices of meat the smoke and put it on my plate, then sat in the chair next to Sean while my mother occupied the chair of the head of the family.

“ I’m so glad you all can be here, i can’t wait for your engagement party, Caroline dear,” said mama, Sean looked at me with furrowed brows and at that moment I realized my stupidity, I closed my eyes with guilt, how could I forget to tell Sean about this while we are going to Europe tomorrow to next week??!

“What’s the matter with you guys?” Caroline interrupted me and Sean, I looked at Caroline with a guilty look.

“I forgot to tell Sean about your engagement, while we’re going to Europe tomorrow for our honeymoon until next week,” I tell and I see Caroline shaking her head with a frown.

“How many days will you be on your honeymoon?” Caroline asked, this time her gaze was fixed on Sean.

“Until next Friday,” Sean replied.

“My party is Sunday.” Caroline looked at me with joy, I breathed a sigh of relief, Thank God. My Inner Goddess slumped on her sofa in relief. Sean’s cell phone rang, he immediately said goodbye to get away from the dining table. I looked at Sean who walked away from the dining table to the living room.

“Valentino, yes...we will leave tomorrow tell Agatha....”

I turned back to my food and ate it.

“Wow, Ana, your husband is very rich,” Ronald exclaimed, those words made me roll my eyes, it’s annoying to have to talk about it, my Inner Goddess formed her lips into a straight line.

“I heard he owns a big company in the industry.” Ronald babbled with a look of astonishment on his face, Caroline chuckled hearing her brother who looked very passionate at this time.

“Sean is a hard working man, it’s only natural that he can get to this point,” Mom said, I agreed with that statement. Sean rejoined us at the dinner table a few minutes later, my food was almost finished.

“How are your parents, Sean?” Mama opened the topic of conversation for Sean.

“He’s fine, Mam, my mom is busy at WHO, actually we are working together to solve the hunger problem that is happening in Africa, other poor countries and war-affected countries right now, while dad is busy with his company business in Dubai.”

I was amazed to hear the efforts of Sean and my mother-in-law to overcome the problem of hunger in the world, he had told me about this before, about his goals which I thought were very unusual and I think he has a noble heart because not everyone, especially those who have many money is concerned with the interests of others.

“Did you gain much from doing this?” Caroline began to show her fangs, this discussion seemed to attract her attention. It’s a shame why she didn’t have a career in journalism.

“Not much, I’ve felt their way, lived in the midst of raging war, difficult and starving.” Sean looked at Caroline with a gloomy look but his expression remained flat, I could see the sadness in his eyes. My memory goes back to when I found Sean being molested by his friends. A little boy with golden eyes who was starving, scared and injured, I shivered with fear in my chair, I immediately pushed the terrible thought to the bottom of my mind.

Caroline was surprised.

“A Sean Valentino ever starved?? This is surprising.” I looked at Caroline with annoyance, I hated the intuition of a Caroline Cortez.

“Yeah, that’s surprising.” Sean said in a somber tone he formed his lips into a straight line.

“Don’t you feel like it’s a loss to help out for free?” Caroline is still interested in Sean, I looked at Caroline annoyed then the woman blinked once at me and looked back at Sean. Oh no! I knew she would keep questioning him and I didn’t want that to happen.

“I don’t think so, so far I’m quite satisfied with what I’m doing.” Sean gave Caroline a polite smile that could paralyze all women in this world, I saw she blushed with Sean’s smile. My Inner Goddess rolled her eyes in annoyance, look, all women are very easily attracted to a Sean Al Abraham.

I breathed a sigh of relief when their discussion ended right then and there. Caroline helped mom and the housekeeper in this house, Margaret—the housekeeper in this house—carried the dirty dishes to the kitchen, me, Sean, and Ronald were on the sofa in the living room. Sean and Ronald seemed absorbed in their conversation about football, mama and Caroline emerged from the kitchen and approached us.

“We have to go home to prepare for our departure tomorrow,” said Sean and we all headed to the terrace of the house. Caroline hugged me with a special Caroline Cortez hug that I love.

“Have a nice honeymoon, I want something as my engagement gift.” Caroline flashed her toothpaste smile and I nodded with a laugh at her request. I turned to my mom, she also gave me a special hug like a mother and gave the same greeting as Caroline said, minus the request. When I turned to Ronald, the man swiftly hugged me he was like an older brother.

“Take care of yourself, Ana and I hope your husband is man enough to get you pregnant,” he whispered in my ear, I was surprised and immediately pinched his ear, Ronald groaned in pain and ended our hug.

I waved my hand when I was in the car with Sean escorted by Sam, the car slid out of the yard of my house which is quite spacious.
