Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Remembering his shoes that were still on the drunk girl at that time, Cakra intended to go to her house because he needed his shoes. Because the shoes he was wearing now were broken and a little tight. Fortunately, Cakra's memory is quite sharp, he still remembers where the girl's luxury house is located. He had to go there after work.

At half past ten in the evening, Cakra was able to leave the restaurant where he worked. He immediately rode his bike to the drunk girl's house. He didn't know her name. And hopefully his shoes weren't thrown away.

Yes, it could be. She was obviously a rich girl, judging from the way she dressed and her big house. It was likely that her shoes would be thrown away. They were definitely different from the shoes of a rich person.

Cakra got off his bike after he was almost there. He decided to ride his bike.

"I hope my shoes don't get thrown in the river or worse, burned." He muttered, his breath coming in long sighs. He refocused his gaze ahead, before coming to an abrupt stop.

"Drunk girl?" Cakra exclaimed in surprise, his eyes widened when he saw the girl entering a car. Then the car sped off and passed her.

Cakra then turned around. "Hey you, give me back my shoes!" he exclaimed loudly with both hands around his mouth, forming a funnel. But unfortunately, the drunk girl didn't hear him. Cakra let out a long sigh and looked down. He resigned himself to not getting the shoes tonight and having to wear the broken shoes again tomorrow.

Just now, Cakra could not see the girl's face because the distance was about ten meters. But Cakra could guess that the one who rode in the silver car was indeed a drunk girl at that time. The reason makes sense, because she came out of the gate of the house where Cakra was going this time.

With no other choice, Cakra made a U-turn and decided to go back to his grandmother's house.

Arriving home, Cakra immediately opened his grandmother's room. Not surprisingly, his grandmother was already asleep because it was already night. Cakra opened the door even wider, then he smiled a little.

Cakra walked closer to the bed, then took the blanket from the wooden cupboard that had been eaten by termites. The night air was quite cold. He wrapped the blanket around his grandmother's frail body.

"Good night, Grandma, have a good dream." Cakra said softly, after which he brought his face closer to his grandmother's face and kissed her forehead gently and carefully.

"I love you, grandma," Cakra continued softly.

Cakra then turned off the lights and left his grandmother's room. He took a deep breath and decided to take a shower. His body felt sticky. Cakra was really tired, studying at school and going straight to work had certainly drained his energy. His only source of income came from his part-time job as a waiter in a restaurant. Cakra prayed, hoping there would be no bad events at his workplace that would make him leave.

Yes, that's all he wanted. Nothing more.

Inez chuckled when her cell phone on the dashboard of her car rang to indicate that someone was calling. She hated times like this, driving while talking to people on the phone. Inez didn't want her focus to be divided. She had already learned her lesson because she once almost hit a passing meatball vendor because she was too busy talking on the phone.

Even though she had ignored her cell phone, which kept ringing, the caller didn't seem to give up before Inez accepted the call. Completely forced, Inez finally responded. She brought the flat object towards her earlobe.

"Inez, where are you? It took so long, I've been waiting for you. You missed our appointment time!"

Ghea's shrill voice immediately greeted her, making Inez immediately move her phone away from her ear. Instead of greeting her nicely, Ghea grumbled. Of course, Inez was annoyed by that. Inez's lips were already smacking in annoyance.

"I'll be there in a minute. Be patient!" Inez replied curtly.

"How many more minutes, approximately?"

"Ten more minutes. Be patient."

"Okay, I'll wait ten minutes. Just watch out if it's more."

"Well ... Why are you threatening me?" asked Inez with irritated lips.

"Hurry up!" Ghea was already impatient, causing Inez to let out a long sigh. What was wrong with Ghea asking her to go to her house? If it weren't for Ghea's kindness in giving her a cheat sheet and Ghea sulking at her at school, Inez would have been reluctant to come to her best friend's house at this time of the night.

"I'll close up first, I'm afraid there's something wrong. Bye!" Without waiting for a reply from Ghea, Inez hung up the phone unilaterally. What a waste!

It was only after that that Inez knew why Ghea had asked her to come tonight. Apparently, Ghea made an excuse for Inez not to meet her extended family, who were gathering. Of course, Inez was embarrassed when she met Ghea's extended family. Inez thickened her face, trying to be polite.

Ghea was really annoying for using her. Inviting a friend who was gathering with her family to play was very embarrassing.

"You bummer!" Inez grumbled as she walked out of Ghea's house. Yes, they made it out of the house with a lot of embarrassment. Especially Inez herself.

Ghea just grinned at the horse.

Inez's gaze toward Ghea turned even more sinister. "I'm the one who's embarrassed! You know I wouldn't have come if I did!"

"That's why I didn't talk to you when you asked what was wrong. The important thing is that I'm free from the house."

"Why not your extended family?" Inez decided to forget her embarrassment. She didn't want to remember it anymore.

"I'm embarrassed to meet them. I hate it when they ask me this and that, it feels like I'm being interviewed. Not to mention when they ask me about my future, what I want to be, about school, where I want to go to college, my boyfriend, about my world, basically. It's annoying."

"Same thing," Inez nodded back. She would also be annoyed if she were in Ghea's position right now.

"That's it! You know that too, right? I also can't stand the glow on my elders' faces. I'm insecure. Especially seeing my handsome cousins. I'll have a crush on them for a long time. Why do the handsome ones have to be cousins? I'm so lazy."

Inez shook her head with a small smile at Ghea's rant, before finally getting into her car again, followed by Ghea, who sat beside her.

"So where are we going?" asked Inez.

"Whatever you want, just don't turn back too soon, okay?"

"Just go to the movies then, okay?"

Ghea waited for a moment. "That's fine, but no horror movies?"
