Chapter 94: Chapter 94
Chapter 96 I have a mother
Alex wanted to tell her the truth. He didn't expect Elly to understand him because he was so jealous. "But it is more troublesome to tell you the truth about the past."
He was afraid that her memories would be painful and in the end, she had to endure and restrain his desires.
"What a coincidence." Alex lowered her eyes and spoke in a low voice. "No matter what you think, I never thought you were someone else's."
If you are Madeline, you will be familiar with it. For a moment, he wasn't sure if she heard it.
When he dug up the memory book, Alex stood up and left the kitchen and went up upstairs. Elly was Left behind, and the mood was very confusing, unable to explain.
The discussion between them was not yet done. She was going to play with the Kitten today, so she went to his room. She opened the door in a cheerful voice and no longer looked unhappy because of what Alex said.
"What are you doing?"
He couldn't take his eyes off the ground, his buttocks were pinned down and when he heard the call, he sat up, laughed and boasted that he didn't have enough baby teeth. "Aunt Elly!" he startled.
"What are you looking at?" She knew that Kitten was a lively child, so she asked jokingly until she saw the picture on his hand and was suddenly startled.
This are the wedding photo of Alex and his ex-wife Madeline.
Elly sat on the bed, stroked Kitten's black hair and asked affectionately. "You miss her, don't you?"
The smile on Kitten's face disappeared, his face was flushed, and his wrinkled voice was full of desperation. "I've never seen her before. I can only look at her through the picture. I want her to hug me." She looked at his sad little eyes.
She knew what it was like to miss Madeline, and when she woke up, she forgotten the past. All she knew was John. She couldn't remember who her parents were. She doesn't even have a picture of them. The feeling of not being able to touch a loved one is very painful.
In a gloomy atmosphere, Kitten suddenly raised his head and watched her beg conservatively. "Auntie, since you and Dad are already engaged, can I call you Mom now?"
Her heart trembled with surprise, as the request came all of a sudden, breaking her guard and gave chill to her body.
For Elly, these are something but for him it is a memory from his mother.
Elly could not help but refuse because of her teary eyes. For how long they lived together, a kid like Kitten, who was under four years old, quickly seized Elly's weakness.
Considering the awkward situation between her and Alex, she dared not to answer for fear of getting into an awkward situation.
Bang!
Elly delayed her answer, and Kitten turned to another question. The question got her and the tears disappeared, but she looked anxious! Elly did not answer for a long time, and Kitten asked again. "Do you hate dad, so you also hate me? Please don't hate me, I will always love you, don't scold me like my father."
"Who told you that I hate you?" She was shocked by the information that had been pounding.
Those eyes were rolling and they can't evade the eyes that analyze it. "You want to leave my father, isn't it because of hate?"
"You can't always listen to what adults are talking." Elly remembered her request to call off the engagement.
"Please remember, don't hate me."
Kitten's cautious tone completely softened Elly's heart. Her pride was swallowed in that moment, but by giving a warm smile, she gently stroked the baby's head. ."Ok, you can now call me 'Mom' if that's what you like."
There was happiness in his face and she smiled then he stood up and danced on the thick cushion.
"Great! I got you. I got you."
Elly hurriedly stretched out her hand to the handrail to prevent the baby from falling out of the bed and turning his head on the bed. Looking at his real happiness, Elly no longer felt that she agreed unwillingly.
Because of happiness, Kitten hugged her neck and acted sweet. "Mom, can you attend the parents' meeting at school tomorrow?"
Why would she do that? Elly doesn't understand. Then she asked again.
"Doesn't your father have time?"
Kitten shook his head and his eyes became low and dull. "My father always attends parent-teacher meetings, but I don't have a mother to accompany me. My classmates say I don't have a mother and I hate it, so I won't attend the parent-teacher meeting."
Elly realized that Kitten read her weakness, and she was reluctant to refuse on his request every time.
"I don't want you be sad anymore. I'm going to the parent-teacher meeting. Don't tell others about this, okay?"
"All right, all right." Kitten made a serious commitment, which made Elly felt more comfortable. But if she can't predict the future, it's would not be easy for her that she agreed.
When she appeared at the door of Kitten's classroom, she saw Alex sitting coldly in his chair. Elly regretted it that her stomach turned upside down. Didn't the boy promise not to talk to Alex about it? Why is he here? Did he lied to her on purpose?
Elly blushed with shame, the teacher stood on the podium and looked at the stranger and asked her. "Hello, which student's parent are you?"
Elly laughed awkwardly, and when she was about to say that she was in the wrong room, a cold voice spoke.
"She's my wife."
Elly was dumbfounded and couldn't take her eyes off to Alex.
The teacher reacted so quickly that she immediately came out to greet her with a smile. She turned out to be Kitten's mother, "Come inside!"
Elly laughed reluctantly in the sight of many people, went directly to Alex and sat down under the guidance of the teacher.
Kitten's family has always been a donor to aid the school, and the teacher smiled from ear to ear. "Thanks to Alex's parents for supporting the meeting. Both husband and wife has come. As a teacher, I am very moved."
Elly's thoughts were startled. If she hadn't lied, she wouldn't have appeared here and was introduced by the teacher.
This parent meeting is very long for Elly. She didn't listen to what the was teacher was saying. Alex was at her side, and he doesn't seem to take her seriously. Her eyes seemed to be filled with excitement.
At the end of the parents' meeting, Elly hurriedly got up because she wanted to leave early. She left Alex and was suddenly called by the teacher.
"Kitten's mother, can you give me a few minutes?"
Elly swore that she clearly saw Alex's keen eyes, she instantly saw it. He integrated into the flow of people and left the classroom with other parents.
"Teacher, what do you want from me?"
"These is the first time we met and I hope it won't be the last time I will see you."
Elly's smile froze, and the teacher's words seemed annoying, but she didn't feel the malice in her heart.
The teacher explained Kitten's attitude. "As the children grow, they have formed a character. Kitten never mentioned anything about his mother. If someone asks about it or when they play together, Kitten will beat them angrily. I know it's a private matter for every family, but step mothers generally won't care about him because he just brags his father. Never able to mention his mom."
Although it was the first time they meet, the teacher found that Kitten's mother was gentle and caring, contrary to his father, his son was more friendly to Elly.
Kitten is a gifted child with high self-esteem compared with his peers. After listening to the teacher's words, Elly suddenly understood the meaning of those words. She can't tell the teacher the truth and can only be responsible to herself when she speaks.
She thanked the teacher for her advice. She really didn't do her duty as a mother. She forgot how she felt, and she will be more concerned about her feelings in the future.
