Chapter 55: I Live Where You Live

"I owe you one." Alex knew he can't make up for Emily Russel's three years, but he doesn't want to lose his chance again.

"We're done. Just give me the price you want, and I'll give it to you!"

The ruthless lover reached his best part, and Alex finished the conversation as he went back straight to his room.

Emily Russel stood in the middle of the lonely living room in despair. She lost to Elly and lost everything she has three years later.

Emily Russel is not easy to bully, she cannot let Elly goes back to Alex Hargreaves.

Her lovelorn face became ruthless at night.

After he broke up with Emily Russel, Alex categorically resided and returned to the old villa.

Elly secretly asked Maverick.

"Baby, why did your father suddenly move back here?"

"Dad said so that I can play with Aunt Elly every day," Maverick answered with delight oblivious to her suffering.

"Did your dad's girlfriend move in, too?" Elly dared not think of a bad situation.

"Aunt Emily won't come. I don't like her, so I said to dad to let me live with you, Aunt Elly."

The unhappy expression of the child made Elly dared not ask again. She secretly looked at Alex Hargreaves' tall figure that was directing the housekeeper to change some of the household items in the family. When she suddenly met his sharp eyes, she flushed and bowed her head, pretended to be studying the carpet.

She knew she couldn't think of him, but her emotions were uncontrollable, and now her heart would pop up whenever she got close to him.

"What, do you have something you want to ask me?" His voice came faintly towards her.

Elly wriggled her heart and arranged the words in her head for a few minutes before she opened her mouth.

"Do you need my help?"

Her mouth opened and Alex walked towards her. Like a frightened deer, Elly retreated unconsciously. But she was quickly caught and her waist was gently hugged.

"Didn't you ask why I moved here?"

Under his burning eyes, Elly stammered. "Why would you do that?"

"For you," Alex answered.

Just two words that came out of his mouth was enough to make Elly's heart erratically beat. They beat so fast that she was afraid he would hear them at close range. She pushed his chest with her hand, tried to get out of the way.

"All in all, your joke is not funny."

"I'm not kidding." Alex pulled her by the chin and forced her to look him in the eye. The half-fierce and half-evil breath are gentle, he said slowly.

"I live where you are."

Seeing her struggled harder, Alex took out a beautiful card and handed it to her.

"It's from John Elliot's family."

At the end of his ostentatious action, Elly stared at the card for confirmation.

"What's this?"

"The VERT invitation is the anniversary of Elliot's Group. I was told that Master John Elliot would make a big announcement."

"It's not my business, is it?" Elly pretended to be indifferent and tried to make her voice softer.

Mr. Alex noticed her discomfort, but he didn't give up on his goal.

"I don't have a female partner to go with the party."

"Will you accompany me?"

"No, I can't. I'm avoiding John. If I show up at a big party in with you Alex now, the rumors about our relationship cannot be explained."

"You are my young secretary, and as a female object, you have to go to a party with your boss."

"I'm on vacation, and I said no!" Elly stubbornly made excuses.

"Do you want me to force you to go to the party with me?" Alex's voice warned in a low voice.

Elly continued to persuade.

"With a big party, you should go with your girlfriend. That will boost your relationship."

"I don't have a girlfriend!"

"You don't? What about Miss Emily Russel?" She asked hesitantly.

"She's not my girlfriend."

Elly raised the corner of her mouth and misunderstood his words. She muttered to herself.

"Yes, fiancée."

She didn't forget Emily Russel's wickedness to her boyfriend. If I was with Alex at such a public party, Emily Russel will certainly misunderstand them. She does not like to hear their voice accusing her of a third party. It is a kind of injustice.

"What are you whispering about?" Alex stroked her small waistline and smiled gently, satisfied with their intimate posture.

It was then that she remembered that she was still hugged by him, so she jerked his hands away and avoided the hug. With an awkward voice, she said.

"No, I just don't think I'm fit for a party."

"Are you afraid to see Mrs. Elliot?"

Elly hurriedly insisted on this reason. Her ladyship has prejudiced against me.

"If Ms. Elliot knew that I was with him, she would let out some bad words, and he didn't have to cause himself any trouble."

"I heard John Elliot was at the party." Alex noticed that when she heard John's name, her body stiffened. His voice became irritable.

"The way to get him to give up on you is to make him think we're together."

"You don't have to involve yourself in the trouble between me and John." She still doesn't agree with his idea.

"For you, I will." Alex took her by the hand and commanded Elly.

"Be indifferent and perform the duties of a little secretary. You have no right to refuse."

Elly had sweet lips and a bank card was in her hand.

"Uncle Geno will take you to pick out clothes tomorrow. The dress code is white. Don't forget."

In front of the great powers of his boss, Elly lost the color in her face. Alex is still her boss, she has to put up with it.

The next day, Elly walked into Alex's car. She wore a beautiful evening dress. The closer she got to the Elliot Family, the more worried she was and her hands began to sweat.

Suddenly, her hand was grabbed and a white towel pressed against her palm, slowly wiping away a thin layer of sweat. Elly's heart swaggered again because of the shock.

"Never mind. I'll always be there for you." Alex said softly, as he wiped every finger with his head down.

Looking at the black hair in front of her, the anxiety in her heart was gradually appeased. She thanked him secretly, flushed and shy.

The car is parked in front of the luxury hotel. Alex politely opened the car door for Elly.

Alex held out his hand in a calm and confident voice.

"Dear lady, I am honored to spend this evening with you."

Elly's face brimmed with a bright smile, and she held his hand sheepishly. Alex bowed his head and whispered in her ear, instilled courage in her in his way.

"Give yourself a chance to let him give up your relationship."

Elly took a deep breath and felt at ease.

The venue was adorned by luxurious lights, and the beautiful ladies and gentlemen who showed their magical powers walked around. Some people came to the appearance of the two and guessed that they're companions of Alex.

While Alex Hargreaves talked to others, Elly stood back in the crowd.

Mrs. Elliot found her as soon as she entered the hall. Seeing that Alex was not around, she hurried by.

"Alex Hargreaves? Why ruin the party and let this bitch came in?"

Confused by the sarcasm, Elly said hello to Ms. Elliot awkwardly.

"Madam , long time no see."

"Don't see the rounders do them. I don't know such a despicable scumbag like you." Mrs. Elliot did not let her finish her speech, deliberately towering tone and despise in her eyes.

"Did you sneak in? Do you want to seduce a gentleman with your body at the party?"

Elly looked pale as if she doesn't have a drop of blood, she stammered.

"You misunderstood. I didn't sneak in."

"You are such a fascinating fox. A few days after you left the world, you climbed up to the Hargreaves. Looks like I really underestimated you." Mrs. Elliot's voice grew louder and louder.
