Chapter 275: Chapter 275

Chapter 277 It is not enough to compensate my children

"I know something dreadful has happened to Elly. She is the only family I have left, and of course, I must worry about her safety. This is my part of the money, even though it may not be much I still insist on helping, so please add it to the money that you have to give to the kidnappers." Emily Russel said while she opened the suitcase filled with neat rows of cash.

When Alex heard what Emily had said, he frowned, and his voice sounded cold. "How did you know Elly was kidnapped? I was not considering asking anyone for money?"

Emily explained calmly and unhurriedly. "I did not see Asha go back to your house yesterday so I called her, but I could not get in touch with her. According to the reaction of housekeeper Geno and the concern of the Brotherhood, we should have guessed. We live in a wealthy family, so is it really not that strange for a person to try kidnapping and extorting us because of money?"

He smiled then sighed. "Elly had no enemies so she must have been kidnapped for money."

"Where did you get so much money?" Alex asked suspiciously.

Emily Russel bit her mouth, bowed her head, and said in a dull voice. I sold Elly's home.

"Whose home?" Alex asked. "Did you really sell her house downtown?"

Emily Russel nodded in agreement. "You know, I am an ordinary person now, and I run a payroll business like other employees. I thought that when Elly returned home, I would have given her house back to her. But there was nothing more important than standing in front of Asha's safety. I believe that as soon as she knows something, she will understand my work.

Her words were so convincing that if Alex did not believe her, no one else would.

"Since you knew her all too well, I believe she was behind all of this." Recalling the email Elly received, she decided to let it happen naturally. She did not give in to accept the cash box. Elly was lucky to have a sister who loved her as much as she did.

Emily Russel smiled then straightened her face while glaring at Alex's gaze. With excitement in her heart but with caution, and ready to get out of the situation. "No, no, no. no, no, no!!!"

Alex arrived at the park at 9 p.m. as the abductees had instructed him to. He placed the two suitcases full of money on the ground by the lake. He then put his hand in one of his trousers' pockets, and looked around carelessly, then waited for the trade to begin.

Thirty minutes later, Alex the abductees that were lurking in the secret location finally arrived.

Two men that were wearing headscarves walked up to Alex and asked.

"Why are there only two suitcases?" The person who seemed to be in charge asked loudly.

"Only an idiot would change fifty million into cash, and I cannot drive the armored car to the place of meeting. Can you imagine how much cash there is for fifty million dollars?" Alex gave him a bank card and without explaining anything to him.

One of the men opened his cell phone to read text messages, another man opened the box and checked and saw that it was red inside, nodded to his companion, and the other handed him the key.

"Your woman is in an abandoned warehouse on the Westside, on Galapagos Street, near the gas station. Here is the key."

Alex took the key while he took another box.

He clasped the key, looked at the two men with such violent eyes, and turned away. After a few steps, the kidnapper's dirty words suddenly came. "Damn it! Deceive us with fake money?"

Alex jumped back and saw when the man with a thick beard pull down the box. The money fell to the ground and was blown away by the wind. It turned out that the money above was real, and below was paper.

"Fuck you!"

He began to curse secretly in his heart and wanted to come over in order to change the situation around. But the bearded man immediately took out his cell phone and ordered the persons on the other end to arrest someone at once!

"Wait a minute!" Alex hit the mobile phone out of his hand and tried to grab it.

The phone fell and was kicked into the lake, and the guy with the crazy beard threw the empty suitcase on him. He lay down on the ground, with his hands raised from the ground, suddenly, he heard what sounded like sirens, and a loud bang.

The bushy-bearded man hit him in the stomach, staggered backward, while looking at him fiercely and cursed him at the same time. "How dare you call the police? If you want to play with us, you will pay the price."

A knife was thrown at Alex, by the bushy-bearded man's accomplice, however, he was not harmed. His accomplice attempted to ran away, because he had the box with the cash in his hand, but he was not fast enough.

The men who kidnapped Elly were quickly arrested by two policemen.

They handcuffed the men to a police car. As Alex walked past, he said with much satisfaction, "you have gotten what you deserved." "You think It is over because you were able to call the police? We have agreed that if I do not return before a set time, my brothers will get rid of Elly. You can say goodbye to your woman."

The police slapped the man in his face removing the laughter from his. He began to struggle to try to resist the police officers but was thrown into the car.

Alex stood staring blankly while panting heavily. "Because you have did not call the police, now you are not able to guarantee the safety of Elly."

A counterfeit note fluttered in the wind and fell on Alex's chest, his eyes were clouded, and his teeth clenched tightly.

The bearded man said, "I was so stupid for not did not check the box with the money carefully."

Alex frantically pressed the numbers on the breaded man's phone, but the phone was locked, and I am sure she was troubled at this point.

Your guess is right. Emily Russel threw away her disguise and now boarded the subway leaving the city with a satisfied smile.

She did not take back Mrs. Hargreaves's position, but at least she finally got to humiliation them for what they had always had to her.

Emily Russell could only imagine that when the bearded man found out that the money in the box was fake, he would certainly try to take revenge. She was also a policewoman, which explained why she was unbothered when the kidnappers tried acting brutally, wanting to take Elly's life.

What she wanted is that Elly must die so that she can remove the shame and satisfy the revenge that is in her heart.

Instead of taking the time to guess Emily Russell's purpose, Alex called his workers and ordered them to make every attempt in getting all the persons involved. Troy goes after Emily Russell and search for her all over the country, brought her back alive, and get this done in the shortest time possible.

He held tightly on to the key for the warehouse given to him by the whisker and ran back to the waiting car, completely ignoring the screams of the police. He pushed the deputy from around the steering wheel, got into the car, and rushed to the west of the city. Four or five black cars followed, and they chased his men uncontrollably.

Elly did not have much hope but feared that she would be killed. Elly was struggling to break free from the rope when he stepped through the door, into the musty warehouse. She moved up, trying to break the rope by sticking out a large wire angle like a thumb from the foot of the wall.

Elly would have tumbled over when Alex hurried to her side, turned her around, and examined her carefully. He was relieved to see that she was not harmed in any way.

"You are here!" Elly smiled comfortably. Do not worry, they would not hurt you.

Alex kissed her hard on the mouth after she had untied the rope and pulled her into his arms. He looked around and operated very cautiously because of where they were.

Elly was moved to see that he cared about her safety regardless of danger, and she whispered. "They ran away. We are the only ones left here."

He did not know what to expect when he ran into the warehouse. He was overjoyed seeing her alone and asked, "What happened?" while still looking around, to confirm her words.

"I heard that the bearded man ordered his companions to take you away. Why did they leave you here alone?"

Elly smiled in a way that was difficult for me to understand and her eyes were filled with pride, "I let them go."

Looking at his confused eyes, she slowly explained. OCC, they installed the eavesdropping device on the bearded man's phone and they panicked at the sound of the siren with such great confusion as if the snake had lost its head. She took advantage of the situation when they panicked, and said to them, "If they do not want to be captured by the police and sent to prison, escape immediately. In any case, they have earned enough money to support their families, and no one wants to be arrested and sent to prison, so they save themselves and escaped leaving me behind.

Alex sympathized with the two criminals that were arrested. They seem to have no attachment to the kidnappers and were not committed wholeheartedly to serving the brotherhood of kidnappers.

"As loan sharks and street loans, they can extort people, and no one dares to make money, however, they are extremely coward." Elly sighed because she also felt pleasure by seeing another person's misfortune. She had experienced a few useless corruption crimes in her lifetime.

I am glad You are safe. Alex leaned over kissed her forehead and admired her.

Elly stood idly by and let him have an exciting time. You know that I was worried about you.

Elly was not beaten, but her limbs were tied up for a long time, and are she was numb. So Alex had to carry her to the car. The abandoned neighborhood is surrounded by people who were staring at them. Alex and Elly were a bit embarrassed to be stared at by so many eyes.

Immediately after Alex had started the car, he heard Elly shouted, "Stop the car. Do not take me back to the house, take me to the police station instead."

"To the police?" He was so surprised because he did not know her intentions.

Elly took out the recording device from his pants pocket and gently pressed the play button. A man's voice was suddenly heard in the car. Alex realized that it was the voice of the man with the beard.

Alex said to Elly, "The person who betrayed us is my own sister. She has always been very friendly to you, Elly. She told us her every move by providing the information, and she was arrested. After getting the ransom, she had planned to subtract the money she owes us and split the rest equally.

"She owes you?" asked Elly.

The thickly bearded man sounded disrespectful. "In order to help her with her work, we almost committed murder for money, but she did not pay us enough money for the pressure we experienced mentally, which was seriously damaging."

"A homicidal maniac? I do not believe it. Why would she hire you?" Elly asked in a sweet soft voice, but in fact, she was trying to get a confession from the thickly bearded man.

"There are a lot of things you do not know about your dear sister. Emily Russell hired us to threaten Dimitri to cooperate with her, wanting to use him to hurt you. Who knew the road breeze was easily frightened and a big coward. We did not have enough time to carry out the plan, he became so flustered that he slipped off the railing and fell to his death. His death had nothing to do with us."

At that point, the recording ended.

Alex's face changed drastically as soon as he heard it. It turned out that Dimitri did not commit suicide, but Emily Russell intervened. Although she did not directly contribute to killing someone, she was indirectly responsible, because the threat of hiring someone led to a person's death.

Elly's voice sounded very cold. "She had done too many bad things and should be punished by the law. There was no evidence before, but now, in addition to proving that her mind is not normal, she also had some other evidence that will put Emily Russell in prison for a few years."

Alex stroked her hair quietly. They were both focused on each other and not saying a word.

He took her to the police station, where Elly presented the tape recorder as evidence that she collected when she was kidnapped. "These cases were crimes committed by Emily Russel for many years."

After Emily Russel transferred from various trains, she hid in a coastal city for three days before she was found by Alex's people. She was buying food in the market. Emily Russel was afraid to go shopping in the supermarket because she was afraid that the camera would take pictures of her.

Although Emily Russel tried to disguise herself by wearing a scarf and sunglasses, Alex's employees were trained to target and find anyone.

During shopping, two strangers appeared to be sneaking up on her. Three days later, she continued to live in fear, because she could never let her guard down if there were abnormal movement around her. The aim was to always getaway.

Having left everything behind, she was running back and forth from the roadside restaurant causing the shopkeepers to curse so loud in a violent way. In the end, a woman's strength was lost in the hands of a healthy man. Her pace slowed down, and when the scarf was caught, she pulled back and screamed slander. "Sparkle! Pirate!"

Persons passing by stood and watch curiously trying to find out or see what was happening. One of her assistants raised her collar and looked her in the face constantly, while another person explained to the people what was taking place.

"Do not get me wrong. This woman is my brother's wife. She had an affair with her colleague and then stole all the money from the family and eloped with her mistress. We have been looking for her for months now, but we have just found her today."

"You are lying! I do not know. Ah." Tears flowed from Emily's eye socket, and she kept admitting that the slap stung. It was not until she was dazzled and dizzy that her assistants stopped and threw her on the ground like crumbs.

The residents around them were doubtful, but no one wanted to interfere in other people's affairs. Two of Alex's men turned to each other and quickly put her in the car and left before the police arrived.

Emily Russel could only hide for three days, worried and uneasy, and as soon as she came back, she was overwhelmed by torture. Alex sent her directly to the police station.

A month later, Emily Russel was officially sentenced, and the moment she was taken away by the police, she stopped in front of Elly staring directly into her eyes.

"You never trusted me at all, did you? Elly, you bastard."

Elly blinked and asked gently. "Would you believe that the man who hurt me did it on purpose?"

"It was all a part of your plan? For me to spend a month in the detention cell." Emily Russel looked very haggard, with sunken eyes, rough skin, dry and hard hair tied together with string. She thought about it and figured everything out.

Elly did not deny it but whispered in Emily Russel's ear, saying "No matter how bad you end up now, it is not enough to make up for my child's life."

Elly's voice was beyond expression.

Emily Russel looked at her speechless and was forcibly taken away by the police before she was able to speak.

Looking at the figure of Emily Russel leaving, Elly felt uncomfortable.

She whispered to Alex and stood beside him in silence. "Obviously, she got punishment and I got revenge, but why is it that, did not she still did not feel good in her heart?"

"That is my kind heart." Alex just understood Elly's original intention, and even took it out of her pocket as Emily Russel's business, so she had no choice but to agree to the kidnapping. Everything went according to her plan, but the man who set the trap was neither good nor evil.

Elly was always meek and kind in her actions or decisions.

"The kidnappers cannot touch you anymore. Everything is ready, you do not have to think about things that are not worth it. Let us get things back together and get ready for our wedding. I want you to be the most beautiful bride!"

Elly stared at Alex who was looking at her for a long time and then finally bent the corners of his mouth into a happy smile.

In the hospital, Linda Peart looked at the time anxiously. "What is happening why the test results have not been found yet? I have an appointment to be present for, at the court. It must be done today."

Linda Peart did not expect this clash between the time of the pregnancy examination and the day that Emily Russel went to court; she could not be present to cheer for Elly. Her absence at the critical moment made her put all the blame on Miss Carter.
