Elly also had doubts in her heart, but he smiled and shook his head.

"Maybe she has something urgent to deal with."

"It's okay." Elly laughed happily. "I have a present for you."

When Elly returned to her room, Rosalyn looked at her in surprise.

When she returned to the living room, she was holding a small wooden box engraved with lotus patterns. Rosalyn studied the gift presented to her and said kindly. "Look at it."

Rosalyn hesitated. "This is not good. You don't have to give me a gift."

"You took care of it for me today. Look, have some feelings, don't refuse."

Seeing Rosalyn sat quietly, Elly opened the box with an Amethyst bracelet inside.

Elly grabbed her friend's hand and forced the bracelet to be worn on the wrist of Rosalyn.

"I bought this bracelet when I went with Alex. Although it is no value, it is said that it can guarantee the safety of the wearer."

According to Elly, Rosalyn raised her wrist, looked carefully at the purple gemstone protruded on her white wrist. With that, she smiled slowly with gratitude.

"Thank you for your gift. It's a pleasure to be friends with you."

There was a bright smile on her face, Elly said sincerely. "I'm lucky to know you."

The atmosphere between the two was sweet. Emily Russel left the Hargreaves' house. She walked quietly on the road and thought about how to get the money in a short time.

All she could think about was the money. Emily Russel didn't realize that the green light had turned red, so she went straight to the street. The screech of the brakes on the front of the car was only a few inches away from her enough to scare her so much. Her legs fell to the ground as she trembled with fear.

At the sound of the horn, the owner got out of the car and yelled at her.

"Are you blind or what? Didn't you see the red light? If you want to die, don't take it to the street."

"Sorry! Sorry!" Emily Russel begged profusely in front of the man again. Although she was not hit by a car, her heart was still in a panic and her legs were too weak to stand up.

The owner murmured a few words of bad luck and watched her sit on the ground. He thought that she was deliberately rude and sarcastic.

"You don't want to die. You just want to make money, right? Seeing that you are beautifully dressed, bright-faced, and bewildered, you have done this kind of fraud, right? You bumped into the wrong person today, and don't expect to get any money from me."

"Well, I'm not like that." Emily Russel tried to stand up with her hand that supported her back, but the strong feeling of pain from her palm of her hand made her moan, and fell to the ground again.

As she watched her palms bruise and bleed nonstop, and watched by the people around her, it made her smile and devised a scheme immediately.

The owner of the car seemed to be in a hurry, anxiously watched Emily Russel still lying tenaciously on the ground. He took out his wallet and threw it directly into her face.

"I'll give you the money. Don't waste my time."

Several blank banknotes fluttered on Emily Russel's lap, her lips were bitten with blood and her eyes glowed viciously. But because of the angle, most people around here could not recognize the evil glint that showed in her eyes.

"She doesn't need money from a person like you." The strong male voice attracted people's attention.

When she turned to the sides of the east, Emily Russel saw Alex as the savior that strode towards her. Her heart was beating so hard that her body did not only trembled but she also lowered her head moderately. It revealed her lovely red cheeks.

She doesn't mind seeing how pitiful she is now.

Alex went straight to her, picked up every bill on the ground, stood up, and slapped the blank cheques on the owner's chest.

"The pursuit of fast driving does not mean that the driver's dignity is the same as the distance. You should use this money to correct your character." Alex looked at a red car, blushed in anger because of the owner's arrogance.

Several people around them giggled and raised their fists in front of the haughty car owner that loses his face. But because of Alex's tall stature and agile motor nerves, hit him straight in the stomach.

The owner of the car knelt on the ground and was dumbfounded. He didn't that Alex has so much strength even if he was in a gorgeous suit.

Alex stood on the ground dejectedly. He walked straight through the crowd and face the admiration of several girls.

Before the owner stood upright, there was no trace of the haughtiness in his eyes unlike before.

In the car, Emily Russel turned several times and looked intently at Alex. She faced him as if she had something to say.

Alex looked at her in the mirror, remained to be ruthless and silent.

Emily Russel can't take the courage to speak up to Alex. She knows where her place is, so she asked for it on her own initiative and volition. She's still embarrassed because of the scene out there. It took a lot of courage to open her mouth. "How did you know that I'm in trouble?"

"I was passing by."

Alex was blocked by the crowd at the crossroads after work. Gerald looked down curiously. He was out for a smoke, but what he didn't expect was to see Emily Russel suffer in the street.

He originally did not care about Emily Russel's dignity, but also agreed that she suffered from the car owner. He didn't want to pry into her intervention, but he thought that the matter had been made a fuss and annoyed him. He decided to finally involved in that matter, so he had no choice but to deal with it.

His cold demeanor did not lessen the emotion in Emily Russel's heart. "Although you said you were passing by accidentally, I still appreciate you getting out of the car to help me."

Alex spoke softly and said nothing.

"Boss, shall we go back to the office or go straight home?" Secretary Gerald interrupted Emily and stopped her talking before she dared to ask more questions.

Emily Russel hurriedly stopped and stared at Alex. "I was looking for you in the manor."

"What's going on?" Alex's voice is careless.

Emily Russel gritted her teeth and plucked up the courage to speak. "Can you lend me money?"

"Money?" Alex looked at her through the rearview mirror for the second time and frowned. How much is it?"

"30 million dollars."

"Why do you need so much money?" Alex thought that she wanted to buy something, but what he didn't expect is such a big number that surprised him.

Emily Russel forced herself to laugh and her voice was sad.

"It's just a small sum of money for you. I hope you can help. I want to buy a house. Although 30 million is only enough to buy a small apartment in this bustling city, it is enough for a bachelor to live. But at least, I'll be able to move out of your house and won't bother you anymore because of my presence in your life."

Emily Russel's reason is very practical and rational. Her purpose is very much in line with Alex's wishes. It would be great if she won't disturb and bring trouble to their small families.

Alex did not agree immediately, and he replied politely instead. "If Elly supports this, I will lend you the money."

"Since when did you ask for a woman's advice?" Emily Russel smiled askew.

"I wanted to ask my wife, and what was wrong with that?"

"Excuse me, I didn't do it on purpose." As soon as Emily Russel saw that his face was unhappy, she hurriedly gave an excuse. "Thank you very much. I'm waiting for an answer."

She did not notice Alex's suspicion of lies.

The car drove into the Hargreaves' yard, and Alex and Emily Russel got off at the same time.

As soon as he entered the door, Alex saw Rosalyn seated in the living room. He said hello amiably.

Elly came over to help him take off his coat and explained. "Today, Rosalyn helped me get rid of the fans of Dimitri who blocked the door of the office. I specially invited her to dinner."

"Are you hurt? Why didn't you ask me to pick me you up?" Alex turns around Elly for inspection.

She smiled happily and let him watch. Emily Russel's eyes gazed at them. She entered the door from behind Alex, and she was immediately startled. "Why did you two come back together?"

"We met by chance on the road." Alex and Emily both responded.

Alex Hargreaves did not look at Emily Russel. He gently twisted Elly's face and explained further. "She was in a car accident on the road, and I happened to be passing by, so I sent her back."

"Car accident? Elly hurriedly approached Emily Russel and couldn't wait to check on her. "Are you all right? Are you hurt somewhere?"

Emily Russel was distressed by her anxious expression. She gently pushed her outstretched hand and answered with a smile. "I'm fine. I didn't get hit by a car."

When Elly heard that Emily Russel had not been hit by a car, she breathed a sigh of relief and whispered. "Be careful on the way, don't scare me. What Alex just said gave me a heart attack."

Emily Russel disagreed with Elly's concern, and she was tired of the affection exuded from the two.

Aunt Mathilda went out of the kitchen and respectfully invited everyone to dinner.

At the dinner table, Elly naturally took care of Alex and gave his favorite dishes, and put it on his plate. Her voice is soft s she gently reminded him. "It must be hard to hear that you are going to leave the company today. Eat more."

In that endear scene, Emily Russel and Rosalyn observed the two as they tried to chew the wax-like food with their heads down. It became completely tasteless because of the scene that they've witnessed.

With the next minute, Elly put a piece of meat in a bowl and looked at Rosalyn. She blinked and spoke. "Thank you for everything you've done today. If there's anything I can do to help, don't be afraid to come to me."

"You're welcome." Rosalyn smiled at her as she held the red wine in front of her and clinked glasses with Elly.

She took a swig and looked at Elly and Alex full of jealousy. The relationship between the two is very good, which made her sad.

Elly laughed heartily. She looked at Alex affectionately and comforted Rosalyn.

"For a beautiful, temperamental, and talented woman like you, the line of men who pursuits you must be several meters long. You just need to be less picky and you don't need to be jealous."

Rosalyn smiled and did not say anything. She is really strict, so she is dismissive of any man because her heart has been alone for a long time. She saw that Emily Russel was as stupid as herself. She hid a sigh and suddenly asked Alex.

"When are you getting married?"
