Chapter 14 Controversy

"I found a job. A job at Alex's company. "

"Alex's company?" His gentle smile disappeared. John held her wrist tightly and asked, "You mean the company of Alex?"

Elly nodded fearfully.

"You immediately quit!"

"No! You can't force me."

"I forced you?" Alex shouted, his hand clenched unconsciously, making Elly groan in pain. However, he seemed like he fell into some terrible memory, he did not care about her feelings.

"Who negated working at that company? You can apply at any company, except for Alex's."

"But why?" Elly was in pain so he could not choose words. "You are my husband but you cannot interfere with my work. What happened between you and that company? What animosity exactly is there between you and the man named Alex that forbids me from reaching near him? "

"Don't mention his name in front of me." John pushed her hand away in anger.

Elly instinctively fell onto the floor, her hands reached for the edge of the table, making the whole table fall on her. The hot food splattered on the two of them.

"Elly, are you okay?" John pushed the table in panic, pulled her out of the dishes on her body.

"Don't touch me." Elly struggled to escape, stood up and watched the food she had spent so much time preparing. She felt pity, dissatisfied with John's absurdity. "I won't quit my job. If you do not explain clearly, I will continue to work, continue to meet Alex"

While John went toward to examine red burns on her hand because of being shot by the hot soup, he listened as Elly mentioned Alex, the heat rushed to his head and slapped her.

The sound of the slapping hand resounded in the dining room. The two stared at each other in surprise, John stared into his palm, and he was unable to believe he could beat her.

Bursting into tears in pain, Elly waited for an apology, but John's next statement made her fall into an ice cellar.

"Tomorrow I'll book a plane ticket. You go back to country S first; I have arranged my work then I will reunite with you. "

John impatiently pounded on the door. "Open the door, please Elly."

Elly did not know that she was locked in a room. Last night she cried out loudly to relieve her mood, and finally fell asleep.

Anyway, my degree was not difficult to get a suitable job." Pressing her slightly swollen eyelids, she blamed herself and decided to follow John's words.

She changed into the dress that John loved to win his heart walked out the door while she found herself locked up.

She gasped and looked at the door handle, regardless of any way to open.

"John? John? Are you out there? Open the door for me. I am not an animal to keep." Tapping hard on the door, the cheerful sentiment just now disappeared, she was angry because she thought John considered her as his pet.

No one answered, Elly hastily took out her phone and dialed John's number. There was no answer on two calls, she got mad when the phone called back.

As soon as she opened the phone, she screamed. "John, why you locked me up in the room? You open the door right now, otherwise I will be angry and never talk to you again."

"John?" The voice overflowing with danger entered her ears, making her scared. "John was living with you? Are you living together?"

Elly looked back at the phone screen, did not see the name of the caller. She was unhappy at her opponent's tone, so she asked casually.

"Who?"

"I am Alex. I gave you five minutes to get to the company. Five minutes later, if you're not at my office, prepare the payment for the contract."

The phone went off, giving her no time to breathe. She furiously threw her phone on the bed.

"What kind of man was he, ordering me like a boss?"

Elly went to the door, slumped on the floor and looked through the doorway to see if John was in the house. The living room was dark without anybody.

She was more relieved, hurriedly got things to stuff into her bag and went towards the window, leaned out to observe. While considering the probability of jumping from a window to the nearest tree without breaking her neck, the phone rang again.

She pulled out her phone, was hesitant to accept the phone.

The distant cold voice only said three words "Four minutes left" and then hung up.

Elly immediately save the name "The pestilent wretch" on her phone, lifted her skirt and climbed through the window. Fortunately, she successfully escaped, took a taxi to the company without being seen by any neighbors.

Get off the taxi, she ran like a race against time, only one corridor left to reach Alex's room, she crashed into the opposite.
