Chapter 34: Chapter 34
For all the one hour and thirty minutes they spent together in the room, awake and lips unclasped, Ihsan wasn't able to look into his eyes. He had spoken to the time Ihsan had lost count, but she just felt like she couldn't sleep, if he was to do what she wanted; she would want him out of the room to have a fresh air to breathe in.
Their was a knock on the door, they both looked at it at the same time and their orbs merged, Ihsan briskly took off her eyes. Sadeeq chuckled, amazed at how shy she looked and was acting. Was it because she ended Ummu's call while he was kissing her? This wasn't herself, but he couldn't help but enjoy the moment while it last.
"I think it's our lunch, aren't you famished?" He directed his question at her and walked towards the door to get their food. Behold, the delivery man stood with their lunch in both hands as he smiled at Sadeeq.
Sadeeq collected, paid and walked back into the room, she still had her eyes fixed on her phone. Was she shopping? Or searching baby names? He couldn't help but chuckle at the later.
"We're eating on the bed," he said and walked up to the bed, playing down the flasks on the empty space as he sat down opposite her. She had her legs crossed, and her eyes lifted and she looked at him when she felt the mattress dipped.
"What if someone comes in? The nurses I mean, they won't let us eat on their bed you know," Ihsan protested and kept looking between the door and the inviting meal looking at her.
"They won't come in, even if they do; we should tell them we're newly married couple that can't be separated and we were used to eating together. You can't come down to eat because of the IV the best way is for me..." she cut him off because he finished his long sentence that Ihsan found so much boring.
"Inseparable couple? I see. Yes, we're used to eating together, perhaps eating in the school cafeteria with your brown haired ogle girlfriend beside huh?" She didn't know why she couldn't get that girl out of her mind, and it's getting frustrating.
"Ihsan, you're just jealous, but she isn't my girlfriend for god sake. I told you, we happened to be in the same level and we study the same course, what's the harm there?" He was suppressing his chuckle, at least the jealous part of her was adorable, close to being as hot as the rolling-eyes part of her.
"She's my coursemate, yen yen yen; that's yours to worry about. I'm not jealous, and will never be because of you, over my dead body. If you can excuse me please." She dived into the food without even waiting for him to serve them on the disposable plate that were brought by the delivery man.
Sadeeq couldn't eat, all he did was stared at her while she furiously ate her lunch. The openings of her nose were flaring open and her hands were shaking while she moved back and forth from her mouth to the flasks.
"I'm done eating, you can take down the food and eat yours there, if you'll excuse me please." She started straightening herself on the bed so she could lay back and have some rest. Sadeeq watched as she was trying to fling down the flasks from the bed, he had no choice but to take them down by his hands.
A part of him wanted to insult her, or even smack her thick skull, but a new found matured Sadeeq whispered 'She's your wife.' And he smiled, knowing she's his to love, to give kids to, and keep until days of wrinkles.

No matter how Sadeeq begged the doctor to discharge them, it proved futile, because here he was, at 12:34 in the morning, facing to and fro in the room while Ihsan slept peacefully on her bed as if she didn't kept her husband standing because he couldn't find a decent place to sleep in. The nurses asked him to go that they don't allow relatives to sleep with their patients, but he was so adamant and told them it's either they leave both or stay both.
Hence, him suffering. Ihsan squirmed on the bed and shifted to the other side of the bed, heaving a sleepy sigh. She was deep asleep and Sadeeq knew if she was awake she won't allow him to sleep beside her, because she was still angry at him because of his brown haired ogle girlfriend; as she named Noor. He tiptoed to the bed and lay silently beside her, the bed wasn't spacious enough that made their bodies glued together.
She groaned and turned, making their faces almost brushing each other. "What is it, please?" She asked with a deep sleepy voice, wrapping her hands around his waist. She took him off guard.
"The bed could contain us, you see? I'm sleepy and there's not even a cushion to sleep on. Can we sleep together? I promise not to be a bad boy, and I won't see the colour of your bra and panties today."
She playfully smacked his chest with a deep laughter and closed her eyes, Sadeeq assumed this romantic side of his was possibly because she wasn't consciously alright. "Keep shut and let's sleep. Goodnight, Enemy, I love you."
"Goodnight, Enemy, I love you more." He planted a smooch on her forehead before she snuggled her head into his chest, tightening her hold around his chest.
Sadeeq slept with a smile on his lips, they have never slept like this before, and it gave a homey feeling to his heart. This was the Ihsan he would love to live with for the rest of his life. This was Ihsan he would love to have as a wife, the mother of his kids. Oh! Lord.

She kept twirling on the chair, unable to get enough look of her face. The makeup artist laughed at how obsessed she seemed to be with herself, and she fell in love with the cuteness of Ihsan. "From which country are you? Masha Allah, you're so beautiful, Sister." She was adding the final touches on Ihsan's face, and the smile Ihsan flashed her was heart swaying.
"I'm from Nigeria. Jazakillahu sister, you did a good job on me. I guess now I'll look beautiful with my cultural wears." Eagerly, Ihsan dropped her feet on the floor and grabbed the bag Sadeeq stuffed her changing clothes in, they had a fight yesterday night because she licked up his ice cream, but he still didn't forget about the makeup he promised her on the cultural festival day.
She entered the changing room and came out, watching a YouTube tutorial on how to tie a perfect headgear. She did, and it was perfect awesome on her, the makeup artist kept praising her until she couldn't blush anymore.
She stuffed her jean and kimono back into the bag and walked out of the studio, after promising the artist she would be back for a modeling session.
She reached the car and entered the passengers seat, flinging her bag at the back seat. Sadeeq had his brown zanna bukar over his face and even before she was being told, Ihsan knew he was fast asleep. She softly tapped his shoulder and he groaned before taking off the cap over his face and his expression was something Ihsan wished she had a camera in her hands, she would've snapped him and hanged the picture for the rest of her life.
She chuckled, and that got back him attention, he pulled her into a hug not minding his white gezna that might be stained with her makeup. "You look beautiful, oh my god! Ihsan you look amazing! Dazzling...ya rabb, I don't have the right word."
She broke their hug and laughed, pinching his cheeks. "You'll stain your clothes with my makeup, and I'll kill rather than have this sensational handsome man stained with a touch of my powder."
Today was amazing, from the start, they haven't headed to school yet; but Sadeeq knew today would be one of the best days of his life. Ihsan had never complimented him and darn it, even the compliment coming from her was something he looked up to for the rest of his life.
He slipped his right hand into her left, and their fingers entwined perfectly, her skinny long fingers, they fit well into his. He squeezed them lightly and she turned to look at him, with a wide smile that made the intestines of Sadeeq churned. She was the living definition of a damsel, and blue never looked this amazing on any living human.
'Alhamdulillah,' silently slipped off his tongue when he swerved the steering wheel into the lot allocating the cars, there was a throng of people in different cultural attires, but deep down, Sadeeq knew his Ihsan would be the shining star of all.
