Chapter 25: Chapter 25
When she looked back at the 18 years of their lives and him 19, how they spent them, what they shared as moments, things they did, words they uttered to each other, she couldn't believe even if in a dream if someone said they would live for a whole week in a house and none of them killed the other.
Ihsan could laugh it off when someone told her that one day she would sleep on the same bed with Sadeeq and actually feel empty the next day when she's supposed to sleep on her bed alone. That's so not right, but now; it felt so good even though he's still the asshole she knew him as. And sometimes scary.
Had it been Daada had once mentioned to her that she would laugh so hard with Sadeeq, they would hangout together, run to the bus stop when late, and still she remained alive and healthy-Ihsan would lock herself up in her room and wouldn't eat dinner that day.
"Thinking of me?" He nudged her shoulder and she turned her eyes away from the window, flashing him one of her artistic eyerolls.
They had been in the bus for over fifteen minutes now, and it was Ihsan that made them came out late that they had to run before they got to the bus stop on time, they would've missed the bus.
"And just because I'm jobless and have nothing important to think of but some certain Sadeeq Abbakar Argungun right? Would you get your ogling eyes off me and look at that arab girl smiling at you or not?" She uttered egoistically and pointed at the shamelessly ogling lady sitting beside them on the other side of the bus.
Sadeeq turned and their eyes met with the lady, she smiled at him and he smiled back. "Hello! I'm Noor." She introduced herself and stretched her hand towards him for a shake.
Sadeeq took her hands in his and they shook their hands before he introduced himself "Hello Noor, I'm Sadeeq, and here is my sister; Ihsan." He said while pointing towards Ihsan that was acting as if there wasn't an existence of them, but underneath her eyelids, all she got hold of was the handshake.
"Hello Ihsan." Noor said, and all Ihsan flashed her was a fleeting smile and an exasperated eyeroll before she turned her eyes to the window.
She heard all their conversations, she heard when Noor asked for Sadeeq's number and when he gave it to her while she promised to call him by 8pm. She calculated, that's 3hr30mns from now, because it was 4:30pm now.
They arrived at the nearest bus stop to Jaidah motors and trading company W. L. L. Ihsan was the first one to get down from the bus leaving Sadeeq and Noor conversing more about god knows what. For she didn't give a damn about whatever it is they're going to talk about.
He came down from the bus Noor tailing behind him, Ihsan didn't know why; but she felt disgusted just glancing at the dyed brown hair of Noor and her light skin that almost reflected when the evening sun casted on it.
"We'll talk later Sadeeq, I came here to visit a friend over that estate." Noor informed and started strolling towards the pointed estate.
Ihsan was feets away from them, but she could clearly heard when Sadeeq said goodbye to Noor and he jogged towards her panting for breath.
"Why couldn't you wait for me? What if something happens to you while I'm not with you?" He questioned with a slight tone of accusation, calmly looking at her.
He noticed that her eyes were now a darker shade, and the openings of her nose were flaring in the anger showing manner, and the way she acted? She acted like a pissed off cat!
"Hey! What's wrong with you? You were normal back in the bus and now you look like you could explode any minute from now!" Sadeeq exaggerated with his hands and held her wrist, stopping her from her unstopping walking.
"Let go off me, Sadeeq. What concerns you wether I'm going to explode or not. Wait, are we getting into this company and buy what we're here for or not? Or are you so eager for 8pm to click?" She was ranting, hands placed on her waist as she kept looking between him and the path a brown haired Noor followed.
Sadeeq burst into a series of laughter, so she was jealous! A time to pay back for what she did to him at MRA bakery and restaurant. What's the name of the guy again? Yeah! Imran!
"Oh come on Ihsan, is that why you're angry? Because I spoke with Noor?" He had sobered up from his laughter knowing so well she can burst into tears right this moment, knowing how angry she was.
"So you even know her name? Saying it casually as if you were being friends for long right? Look Sadeeq, are we buying this car or we can transfer Abbu back his money so we can be catching buses from one bus to another. If today you had met Noor, tomorrow it might be Aisha or Khadija, kai even an Arabian Zuwaira you can meet!" She was flaring her hands up, eyes looking between the bus stop, his face, the company and the path Noor followed; she was at the verge of breaking into tears. Oh god it hurt! But why would it hurt her? He even introduced her as a sister right! A sister she is.
Sadeeq bit his lips from breaking into a thunder of laughter, Ihsan was a ton of difficulty herself. How can she say they should transfer Abbu back his money? So after a week she would call Daada again whining about not having a car and they would have another arguing session before Daada would finally relent and let Abbu send the money or what? She seemed harmless, but her brain was dangerous. As frail as she looked.
"Ihsan..." he started, but she cut him off, completely infuriated.
"Don't Ihsan me, Sadeeq! Just don't!" Before she could utter another word, he had engulfed her into a hug, so tight she felt it was the only thing she had been craving since in the bus. She hugged him back and waited until the anger she was feeling had vanished and he silently broke their hug.
"Can we go in now? I'm sorry please. Smile to your enemy now." He used his fingers and stretched her cheeks into a smile, it was fake; but slowly a genuine smile graced her lips.
They walked hand in hand into the company, none of them uttered a word and they were welcomed greatly. They filled some forms and were ushered to go see the car they would like. They roamed around the latest Toyotas and all Ihsan did was shrugged her shoulders with a grim expression.
The next was the Mercedes, and same happened. Then Hyundai, she did the same. "Let's go to the Chevrolet section Ma'am." Their guider uttered, noticing how Sadeeq wanted some cars but she bluntly disagreed.
The first car that caught her attention was a Chevrolet volt 2018 edition, and she gushed before walking towards it, dragging Sadeeq with his hand.
"It's beautiful! I love it Sadeeq!" She had her eyes widely dilated and her orbs were smiling themselves without the help of her lips.
"I don't like the color, it's green mist metallic for god sake Ihsan! Let's buy that one, it's more matured." He pointed at a silver brownish volt, and Ihsan scrunched up her face.
"Oh because it has the colour of that brown haired ogle right?" She accused, detestably looking at the car.
"Who's the brown haired ogle?" He asked, genuinely not having the idea of whom she was referring to.
"That Noor or whatever it is her name." She retorted, rolled her eyes and looked away from his face.
Sadeeq chuckled and shook his head. He looked at their guide and smiled, "let's sign for that one." They were given the forms with an amount worth $37,570 and Sadeeq signed. All the services were made, the car's documents were handed to them and they were handed the car.
"Will you teach me how to drive?!" She squealed excitedly while buckling up her seat belt. Sadeeq did the same and laughed, seeing how genuinely elated she seemed.
"You can't drive here, you're underage." He laughed hard knowing there would be protests from her and swearing saying she was not underage.
And it came, he laughed again, "I'm sorry, I was just pulling your leg. My enemy is an adult, but getting your drivers license here would be hard. But we shall see." She smiled genuinely back in appreciation.
"Should we go to somewhere fun? I'm bored of being stuck at that apartment only going out when I have lectures. What of you?" He suggested, putting the car into driving mode and they hit the road of the city of doha.
"That would be exciting! Let's go pleaseeee!" She drawled and chuckled, winding down the glass to get in the fresh air of Qatar.
