Chapter 29: Chapter 29
After dinner, Joel took Primrose to do her makeup and choose a dress at a famous store in the city. He sat on the sofa, patiently waiting for Primrose to choose, while Primrose looked seriously at the gorgeous dresses that hung neatly on the shelves.
"These are the latest designs in our store; no customer has ever tried them on. They all match your aura very well."
The salesman this time is a woman in her thirties who still looks very young. He enthusiastically introduced Primrose to many different styles with an enthusiastic and sincere attitude. Primrose looked around, still feeling unsure of what to choose, and told her decisively.
"I think they're all good; let me try on the most expensive one here. Please get it for me"
The designs of this brand are ones Primrose regularly chooses, all of which are very suitable for her aesthetic gout. Moreover, Primrose is the type of person who doesn't like giving too many options, and defaulting to the most expensive one is the best one.
At wine parties like this, the elite not only meets and build relationships but also show off their wealth in a disguised way. She also does not want to wear a dress that is not too expensive; at that time, she will be ridiculed by other rich ladies.
"Okay, please wait a moment so I can help you get them down."
The female employee heard this and, of course, was very happy. She quickly took the most expensive and gorgeous dress in the store and gave it to Primrose. It was a black flat-shoulder dress with a white chiffon bow on the back, looking both elegant and charming. On the body of the dress and on the shoulder of the dress, there are also many more pearls attached, all of which are hand-sewn and appear extremely noble at first glance.
Not to mention, the skirt body is sewn into many layers, floating like a princess dress.
Primrose was very satisfied with this choice; thanks to the help of the female staff, she easily put it on and then stood in front of the mirror. After being satisfied with her current appearance, she lifted the curtain and stepped outside.
For a fleeting glance, Joel suddenly froze. Normally, he always knew that Primrose was extremely beautiful, but at this time, he couldn't help but be surprised by her beauty.
The fitted black dress accentuated her smooth, shiny skin, making Primrose seem to glow under a pale yellow light. Following her every step, the dress gently swayed gracefully, like a princess coming out of a fairy tale.
Primrose's face was now carefully made up, and her hair was curled into small curls that fell over her shoulders, covering her bare shoulders, which also needed a white swan's neck.
Primrose's eyes were now looking directly at Primrose; under the lamplight, they were clear and full of water, sparkling like a small lake. The corner of Joel's lips couldn't help but curl up.
"How do I look? Is it enough to join you at the party tonight?"
Primrose excitedly turned around and asked Joel softly. When he discovered that Joel was staring at her, not responding, and his eyes were dreamy and unfocused, Primrose stepped closer to Joel. The sweet scent of the girl also followed and crept into the nasal cavity.
"Hey, aren't you dumbfounded by my beauty? Is it because I'm so beautiful?"
This statement is both gratifying and somewhat childish, successfully pulling Joel's mind back to the present scene. He stared into Primrose's glittering eyes, fluently stood up, and quickly walked closer to her, shortening the distance between the two of them.
"Yes, it's because my wife is so beautiful that I can't adapt and just want to look at it forever."
Joel's admission was too frank; moreover, his voice was low and seductive, and he slowly leaned in close enough that Primrose could clearly feel the faint scent of male perfume on his body.
She drew back a little, then, out of habit, pouted her lips.
"What a good flatterer! If you see this suit, we pay and go; it's too late."
Primrose glanced at her watch. It was almost time for the party to start; it was too late to be late. Joel also quickly returned to his original natural state, lightly holding Primrose's hand out and helping her swipe the card to pay for the other dress.
Today, Joel drove over directly, not as a private driver, so Primrose conveniently sat in the passenger seat of his car. Joel's actions after leaving the precious dress shop were still considered normal until he suddenly stopped the car by the side of the road when he came to an empty road.
"What's up? Is the car broken?"
Primrose leaned over to look at Joel, but before she could react, Joel quickly pulled Primrose closer, holding her in his arms.
"Primrose, close your eyes."
The sweet scent of Joel's perfume lingers on the tip of his nose, and the low voice is now gentle as if it is coaxing, making Primrose not have time to think much but obediently follow. When the curled eyelashes slowly closed, Joel's kiss also followed and fell on Primrose's lips.
Joel's kiss was very gentle; he kissed each of Primrose's lips slowly but passionately. Primrose, for a moment, seemed to be immersed in this sweetness, instinctively responding to make the kiss even more passionate.
When the two lips are separated, Primrose's lips are slightly red and swollen, and the shadow is vaguely watery. Joel gently wiped the corner of Primrose's lips, then leaned down and kissed her forehead respectfully.
"I wanted to do this early on. When you finished changing and walked out of the store, I already wanted to kiss you."
Joel admitted it frankly, then hugged Primrose tightly, stroking Primrose's exposed shoulder. Primrose also rarely did not resist but leaned on Joel's shoulder, slowly adjusting to the chaotic breathing from the last kiss. The two of them sat hugging each other for so long that Primrose felt as if time had stopped, and Joel was nostalgic to separate.
"We can't keep hugging anymore; the party is about to start. When I get home, I'll make it up to you."
Joel's voice still has a provocative, husky quality; as if trying to suppress something, Primrose's ears quickly turned red, and he pretends to turn his face away to ignore Joel. Joel just smiled and started the car for the drive to the party place.
As Primrose had predicted, the party tonight was very crowded, and all the women who appeared here were dressed in both precious and elegant vestments. Primrose was quietly relieved because she had foreseen and chosen the most expensive dress in the store, at least allowing her to comfortably hold her head high to face everyone.
Joel, of course, did not understand this thought of Primrose. He gently brought Primrose to greet many famous executives in the business world that he knew, and then they talked together.
Normally, Primrose had no interest in business, so their stories only made her a bit depressed; she could only shake the glass of juice in her hand aimlessly.
It seems that Joel also noticed that Primrose was bored, so he tilted his head slightly to talk to her.
"If you are tired, you can go out into the lobby." "There are some cakes and fruits there, and there is also a dining table for you to sit at."
Primrose nodded in agreement, politely said goodbye to everyone, and turned to leave. She came here only to deal with Joel, not intending to participate too much in his conversations.
He also said from the beginning that she just needs to appear; there is no need to worry about other things. So then Primrose was very focused on enjoying a few cakes that were beautifully displayed on the table, taking a few that she normally loved, and then going to the table to eat.
The people around were busy chatting with each other; only Primrose was enjoying the cake. All the food here is moderately sweet, and the taste is also very good. Primrose ate the second piece of red velvet cake and still licked her lips and wanted to eat more, even though she had dinner with Joel at home early.
"Pretty girl, did you come here alone?"
"Do you want me here to talk with you?"
