Chapter 27: Chapter 27
Primrose pouted, shoving Joel's hand as he touched her hair, wanting to help her change. Joel sighed and waited a few more seconds before moving on, quickly helping Primrose change into a more comfortable silk nightgown.
"Water. I want to drink water."
Primrose spoke softly, her voice somewhat dry. Joel carefully took Primrose's head again to lay her on the soft pillow, hurrying to pour her a glass of warm water. When he was done, he went back to bed, expertly supporting Primrose's back to help her drink water, at which point Primrose snorted in satisfaction.
Joel put the glass of water down on the small table by the bed and helped Primrose change into her silk pajamas. Primrose was still struggling to avoid it, so Joel only had to gently hold Primrose's leg and help her put on her pants. After helping Primrose change clothes, there was a thin layer of sweat on the back of Joel's shirt.
He rose slightly, helped Primrose cover himself with the blanket, looked at the sleeping woman's face on the pillow, and gently pinched her cheek, sighing.
"Did I owe you in my previous life? Otherwise, why do you always make me so helpless?"
Joel turned to the balcony, texting Arthur to ask about Nancy's situation. After confirming that Nancy had also returned home safely, Arthur had helped her put on a thin blanket and was on the way back to his home, so Joel had peace of mind to take a bath.
By the time he stepped out of the bathroom, Joel was wearing a thin silk nightgown that was the same style as Primrose. Normally he and Primrose sleep in different rooms, but today Joel was worried that Primrose might wake up in the middle of the night because he wanted to drink water or needed something or needed someone to take care of him, so he took a blanket and pillow from his room and placed them next to the pillow. by Primrose.
At this time, Primrose was already fast asleep; her pink lips were closed, and instead of muttering and cursing like before, her appearance was much more gentle. Her face was white, her long eyelashes were slightly curved, and the bridge of her nose was straight and small. Joel looked at her with his chin for a while and couldn't help but lean over and kiss Primrose's forehead lightly.
"Good night, sweetie; have a sweet dream too."
The next day, Primrose awoke relatively early as the first sunlight filtered through the curtains onto her white face. Perhaps due to the effects of alcohol, her head was dizzy for a few seconds before she could look around to determine the situation. Memories slowly came flooding back, but Primrose could only remember when she and Nancy got drunk in the bar.
Maybe later, Joel called, but the memory was so vague that Primrose didn't know if it was real or something she imagined.
However, when Primrose turned around and saw the handsome face magnified in his field of vision, he knew that the fragment of the vague memory was all real.
Primrose tilted her head slightly wearily, reaching for the phone that was neatly placed on the bedside table. She wakes up earlier than usual, but waking up now is not too early.
Primrose, who did not intend to disturb the sleeping person lying next to him, crept up slowly and gently so as not to wake him. But when Primrose turned around to get up, the person next to her grabbed her wrist, pulled her down to the bed, and pinned her down.
"Primrose, so you don't accept people when you wake up?" "So quick to run, huh?"
Joel's voice when he first woke up was still a bit hoarse, and combined with his handsome face, it became even more attractive. Feeling Joel's warmth around his body, his arms tightly grasped, his body close, Primrose couldn't help but blush.
"I want to brush my teeth; I don't want to wake you up soon."
Joel, of course, didn't believe Primrose's words; he just looked at her eyes for a long time as if brooding, then leaned closer to Primrose's neck and replied, his warm breath on Primrose's collarbone making her tickle a bit.
"Oh, I thought you didn't want to be in the same room with me, so I hurriedly left as soon as the day started."
This word of Joel is also partly true; Primrose's memory is still somewhat fragmented, so he does not dare to face Joel at this time. She rarely gets drunk to the point of losing her mind, but according to the comments of close friends, Primrose, when drunk, acts and speaks strangely and often likes to say meaningless sentences.
Sometimes she did something she wouldn't normally do, such as grabbing Nancy for a hug or asking for a steak at a five-star restaurant when, late at night, all restaurants close early.
Primrose looked at Joel nervously, trying to find her voice after so many thoughts.
"I don't remember exactly what I did yesterday, but I didn't do anything outrageous, did I?"
Joel smirked, looking at Primrose's clear, somewhat earnest eyes, and suddenly had a malicious intent to tease. His hand gently stroked Primrose's waist, making her shrink slightly, and he said calmly
"Let me think again. Yesterday you held me tightly and didn't let go; you kept coming close to say you loved me. You also insisted that I lie next to you before going to sleep."
"Do these things count as too much?"
Joel's usual voice tends to be cold, but this time it has an added sloppiness. He ran a hand through Primrose's hair, slowly waiting for an answer.
This shocking amount of information took Primrose some time to digest, and she connected Joel's words with the two of them sharing a bed this morning, feeling that this was indeed the action she could take when drunk. So she was a bit apologetic and lowered her head slightly, biting her lip.
"So sorry, I bothered you yesterday." "How do you want to compensate?"
Primrose's thinking is very simple: yesterday Joel took care of her; moreover, when Primrose was awake, he did not feel headaches or too tired, proving that Joel took good care of her. Compensating him a little is understandable and should be done.
However, Joel intentionally misinterpreted Primrose's words.
"You want compensation? I lack nothing, just a kiss. A deep kiss, how?"
Joel's nonchalant expression made Primrose pout slightly, evading his arm, and stand up.
"I think you should continue to sleep; you haven't rested enough, so your thoughts are confused and you're talking nonsense."
Primrose's furry, porcupine-like appearance made Joel laugh, and he didn't intend to pull Primrose back; he was just lamenting boredom.
"Just now, he said he wanted to make up for it and asked me what I wanted; I just mentioned the desire to leave it alone. Heartless woman."
Primrose decided to pretend to be deaf, arguing that she was never a match for Joel. After Primrose brushed her teeth, she went downstairs to have breakfast. The maid got up and prepared breakfast early, and she casually sat down to eat without waiting for Joel. After the talk this morning, she knew Joel's ability to make others angry, so she wanted to reduce contact, afraid she would be poked by Joel to lose interest in going to work.
Fortunately, Joel's attitude is also considered good; after waking up, he did not open his mouth to tease Primrose anymore, only maturely announced.
"There's a party tonight; I need to be present. Can you come with me?"
