Chapter 25: Chapter 25
"Primrose, sorry, I didn't remind the receptionists so that unscrupulous people can also walk into the company and make you angry."
Joel did not understand the situation when he first entered, only instinctively protecting Primrose, but then quickly guessed the identity of the other woman. Appearing on his work floor now is a woman; indeed, it can only be Mia, the product representative about to sign a contract with his company.
Initially, this matter was left to the people in the marketing department to handle, for them to choose representatives and discuss signing the contract. He always kept his composure and didn't want to care too much about women other than Primrose, unexpectedly bringing this trouble.
The other woman was so stupid that she angered Primrose and even disparaged her with really harsh words.
However, this contract cannot be signed anymore, and the woman named Mia will also quickly pay the price. Joel has always been a cheater, with no intention of letting Mia live peacefully in the modeling world after she boasted and hurt his wife.
Primrose heard this, did not pay much attention, and just casually waved her hand to show that she was okay.
"It's not your fault; Mia is just one of those women who want to seduce you and be your wife. It's not worth worrying about. I don’t care much about this."
Primrose spoke softly, but Joel's attention was elsewhere.
"One of the women wants to flirt with me? Primrose, are you jealous?"
Joel still remembers the situation that made him lose his temper the day before, the sight of Primrose being flirted with made him jealous to the point of losing his mind. So he really wants to know how much Primrose's love for him is enough for Primrose to envy other women because of him.
Unfortunately, Primrose is a somewhat heartless woman, not realizing that in Joel's voice, there is also a part of expectation and desire. So she casually walked into the office, which Joel opened, thought for a moment, then shook her head.
"I'm fine; anyway, you are a perfect man in their opinion; and they think you are still single. So there's nothing wrong with them finding a way to make you fall in love with them, and it's also normal."
"As long as you don't notice them and don't intend to date them when I don't know, then I can accept them."
Primrose's understanding made Joel both happy and sad. I am glad she is a wise woman, does not want to make noise to affect his work, and is not jealous indiscriminately. Most importantly, Primrose's trust in him is relatively high.
However, this is not the answer Joel wants. Primrose's consent signifies her generosity, which also shows that Primrose is not too concerned about having many women appear by his side, finding ways to make him notice and love them. This thought alone was enough to upset Joel.
"How is that acceptable? That way, you won't be comfortable. Or do we make our relationship public? This does not affect the business of my company; as long as you want, I will immediately clear it all up."
This is also something Joel has wanted to do for a long time. The person who suggested not to announce that they were husband and wife was Primrose because at the beginning of their relationship, things were still awkward and the two were not too close. But now everything has changed, including his feelings, so Joel really wants to be able to stand in front of the press and frankly announce Primrose as his wife.
"Not really; I don't think this is necessary. It's okay to get married to our close friends; it doesn't have to be to the extent that everyone knows; we're not a passionate couple either."
Primrose said while glancing at her watch that time is running out and she needs to return to the company to work, delaying today's work so she will have to work overtime to complete it.
"Okay, this ends here. Now I will return to the company; you continue to work."
Joel watched Primrose's busy figure, his words sticking in his throat, not knowing what else to say in this situation. He sighed; perhaps, in the first place, he shouldn't have expected too much from Primrose because she was too heartless and indifferent to him.
"Do you need me to help you call a car? If not, let Arthur drive my car to take you back to the company?"
Primrose felt that it was too exaggerated to let Joel bring her back to the company, but Joel did not want Primrose to work too hard, so he made a soft suggestion. Primrose didn't feel this was necessary either; she wasn't that weak anyway.
"I can do it myself. Goodbye, Joel, and thanks for the lunch."
This statement was very sincere but somewhat polite; Joel directly ignored it and just helped Primrose open the door and lead her out.
"You go to your room; I can go down by myself. It's not good for many people to see, and I don't want to listen to other people's gossip."
While waiting for the elevator, Primrose spoke softly to Joel beside him. Joel also did not want to force Primrose; he just calmly nodded and returned to his room, but before leaving, he still seriously advised Primrose that if he needed anything, just call him directly.
"You told me this for the tenth time in an afternoon; I know that if something happens, I will definitely call you. For now, you go back to your room; I can take care of myself."
Primrose finished speaking and stepped into the elevator, going directly down to the first floor. Although she told Joel not to worry too much about her, she could help herself, but when the elevator stopped on the first floor, she saw Arthur reverently standing in front of the elevator door.
"Primrose, let me see you off to work."
Primrose supported her forehead, not wanting to refuse anymore. Arthur only works on Joel's suggestion; if she says there is no need, Arthur will be very awkward, not knowing how to inform Joel. She also didn't want Arthur to get in trouble for this little thing.
So Arthur quietly walked behind Primrose like a loyal guard. Seeing the pre-ordered Primrose car appear, he very carefully ran up to help Primrose open the car door.
"Thanks, you go back to work; I go home first."
Primrose waved at Arthur and motioned for the driver to drive away. Arthur also waited until the black taxi disappeared from view before turning around and returning to the company.
"Who was that woman earlier? Your attitude is somewhat reverent towards her. "What relationship does she have with our director?"
A receptionist could not hold back her curiosity and asked when Arthur returned. It must be known that, normally, in their company, Arthur is a very powerful assistant. Normally, even when meeting company partners or famous models and product representatives, he still maintains a calm and professional attitude and has never been as enthusiastic about anyone as Primrose.
Arthur looked at the questioner and did not intend to reveal his boss's private matter, so he quietly reminded them.
"As a very important person, when you see her in the company later, please treat her well; don't anger her. Otherwise, the consequences will be very incalculable, and people will not be able to bear them."
Arthur does not want to talk too much, but he still has the heart to remind receptionists to be more careful in the future to avoid accidentally making Primrose angry. After saying that, he also went straight to the elevator, returning to his usual workplace.
Primrose today had to move between the two companies because of the controversy with Mia; the whole session was also lost, and tonight she did not intend to go to the bar to play as usual. However, Nancy's afternoon state was not very good; it seemed that because of a quarrel with her boyfriend, she was always moody, her face lifeless.
So, Primrose accepted Nancy's invitation to the bar tonight to listen to Nancy's confession. So, after work, she just took off her makeup, took a shower, continued to put on makeup, and then went with Nancy to a restaurant to have dinner and then directly to the bar, in the process without ever touching Joel.
Today, Nancy's mood is always sad, so Primrose does not intend to invite other friends to the bar to add excitement. In the last large bar room, only Nancy and she sat next to each other, quietly drinking. Nancy drank a few glasses of wine; the sweetness lingered in her mouth, making her comfortable. She tilted her head to continue drinking, leaning on her chin to look at Primrose.
"Primrose, tell me, I and Brave are lovers; is it wrong for me to want to text him every day? I want him to pay special attention to me, replying to my messages quickly; is it wrong not to keep me waiting?"
Nancy is not the type of woman who likes to stick to her boyfriend every day; she also has her own job. However, Brave is an extremely busy person, performing several surgeries for patients every day or being on duty at the hospital, so she does not have much time to communicate with her.
She could understand it at first, but in the long run, whenever she texted Brave about something early in the morning until late at night, she still received a short response, and she still felt a bit disappointed.
Moreover, Brave is a quiet person with no hobbies, and every day he and Nancy talk a lot about both of their lives. The two have extremely different work and life experiences, so the common themes between the two are relatively few.
The climax was today, at noon, when Primrose came to Joel's company. She also remembered Brave but went to the hospital where he was working and wanted to invite Brave to lunch. The result was that Brave had just come out of the hospital room, happy and smiling, with a female doctor next to her. The two walking side by side were very beautiful. Nancy could vaguely hear the female doctors nearby saying that the two often worked together; almost every time they worked at the hospital, they were close to each other. Nancy felt extremely jealous.
Brave is a cold person, but he still volunteered to talk and laugh with the other female doctor. Is it possible that Brave, because he has found a new object that interests him, does not need a girlfriend who does not have a common topic to talk about, Nancy?
The hospital was not the right place to argue, so Nancy quietly returned and texted Brave to ask about the other girl. Nancy thinks that her attitude is very good, but Brave is somewhat impatient and thinks that Nancy is jealous. He and the other colleague have a very normal relationship because Nancy thinks a lot and then accuses her. they cheat. Nancy got angry, blocked all of Brave's communications, and went to the bar with Primrose to drink.
After hearing the whole story, Primrose could only sigh. Although Nancy does not like to be tied down by her early marriage to the boys, every time she loves, she is very sincere. Moreover, her heart is very sensitive, so it is understandable that she wants to be cared for and prioritized by her boyfriend.
This problem is not small, but it is not big. It is important that one of the two people coax the other so that the new relationship can continue.
