Chapter 22: Chapter 22
The next morning, Joel was still the one who went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, and when Primrose woke up, he was not too surprised. She calmly sat across from Joel and ate breakfast, drank all the prepared orange juice, and then got into Joel's car to drive him to work. Everything is still going as usual, and fortunately today Joel is no longer joking, so the atmosphere between the two is still relatively good.
The two are also very good, not to mention that Primrose went to the bar and came home late yesterday.
"We're here, Primrose. In the afternoon, after work, call me."
Joel helped Primrose unbuckle her seat belt, then got out of the car and opened the door for her, conveniently holding Primrose in his lap. Primrose was no longer shy. She comfortably stretched out her arms to hug him and then turned to work.
Primrose and Nancy's state at the bar yesterday was still relatively good, so the people were still full of energy for the company. However, during the lunch break, Nancy was very surprised when she told Primrose, Ava, and another friend that they drank a lot of alcohol yesterday and that today they are not sober enough and have to take time off work. Primrose listened and shook her head sympathetically.
"Will we continue today, Queen Bar?"
Nancy blinked at Primrose, leaning slightly closer to her with a soft, teasing voice. Primrose also did not reject the not-so-good look, nodding calmly.
"Okay, same time tonight, same place. Did you bring your boyfriend over?"
Nancy pouted and said no. Anyway, a calm person like her boyfriend doesn't like the hustle and bustle of the bar, so she only occasionally takes him along. Moreover, her presence made her and Primrose unable to behave as usual.
"Primrose, are you going to buy some clothes later? A fashion brand I like has just launched a new collection; I want to visit their store to check it out."
Nancy is a fashionista, so she often walks around the expensive stalls in the city's largest shopping mall. Primrose and she have the same luxury spending, so sometimes the two will go to buy new things together, even though there are still many luxury items in the house that have never been worn.
"Okay, then can you drive me to the mall?" "I didn't drive in today."
Nancy's eyes immediately lit up. She leaned closer to Primrose, teasingly using a soft voice that only the two of them could hear.
"You were driven to work by Joel again? Really happy? It looks like your married life is very fulfilling."
Primrose pouted slightly and pushed Nancy away, then calmly adjusted her slightly wrinkled collar.
"Stop talking about my marriage. If you want to enjoy a happy world, then get married quickly. Your boyfriend is also kind and trustworthy."
Nancy almost immediately shook her head after hearing Primrose's suggestion. She is a person who likes freedom and does not want to be bound by marriage too soon.
Initially, Primrose was also a person with the same ideals as Nancy; however, the arrival of Joel turned Primrose's life upside down.
After the two finished talking, Primrose texted Joel, saying he didn't need to pick her up after work anymore, then returned with Nancy to the company to continue the afternoon shift. When the two got off work, Nancy immediately drove Primrose to the most famous and largest commercial center in the city.
As soon as the two entered, Nancy decisively pulled her hand to the stall of her favorite brand. Nancy has always been a generous person; she looks through the shelves displaying new products, sees a beautiful item, immediately tells the salesperson about her measurements, and quickly pays for the item. So in less than ten minutes, Nancy had purchased two two-piece dresses from the latest collection, one elegant white pearl and the other attractive blue.
Primrose also has the same buying style as Nancy; she will buy what she likes directly, even without trying it on. So, Primrose also quickly picked up two suits from the next brand.
"Nancy, would you say red or black is better?"
Primrose held two off-shoulder dresses and put them on her body. Nancy also slowly turned around to think. The two dresses are similar in shape and are able to fit well, highlighting Primrose's slender shoulders and a beautiful swan neck. This dress is both easy to wear and elegant, whether going out to play or going to the office to work.
"Black will look more elegant, highlighting your fair skin tone."
Nancy came to a conclusion, but Primrose hesitated.
"Red is also very prominent, being the hot color of this year. I will take both."
Nancy shrugged; she was used to Primrose's style of decision-making, so she was free to continue choosing.
The two walked out of the clothing stores, wanting to go upstairs to buy jewelry. Nancy gently pulled Primrose's hand again.
"Go to the watch store with me. I want to give Brave a new watch."
Primrose also did not refuse, and Nancy went to a famous watch store and chose clothes for Brave. Nancy said Brave is a watch lover and has a private collection with many different designs; she wanted to give Brave a piece of the latest collection.
"Can I have this, Primrose? Simple design, not too ostentatious, but very beautiful."
Primrose nodded. Nancy's aesthetic taste is always good, so the items she chooses are the best. Receiving Primrose's approval, Nancy quickly paid for the watch.
"Should I buy Joel a watch? This new collection has a lot of the same design as the regular watches he wears."
The design style of this brand's designer has always been known for its simplicity and elegance, and as soon as Primrose stepped in, she was attracted to the new collection.
"Why shouldn't it? Think of it as a gift for your husband when we go shopping; it's normal."
Primrose saw it right, seriously, and Nancy chose a watch, then bought Joel a brown one with a few expensive diamonds on the face of the watch. Thinking of how Joel would look when he wore it and Joel's powerful wrist, Primrose smiled in satisfaction.
When the two finished shopping, they returned together, and Primrose conveniently placed her shopping bags on the floor, removed her makeup, and took a shower first. She worked all day at the company, and in the afternoon, walking around the mall with Nancy, she felt that the whole person was dirty.
By the time Primrose got out of the bathroom comfortably, it was an hour later, and Joel had never been back, struggling to help her cut the labels off of new clothes to bring down to her aunt to wash them.
"Have you seen the clock yet? Do you like it?"
Primrose lazily wiped her hair and sat down next to Joel. Looking at Joel's somewhat surprised eyes, she found the watch bag in the pile of bags Joel had not yet collected and gave it to him.
"Today I and Nancy went shopping; we found them suitable, so I bought them for you."
Joel will of course be satisfied with all the gifts that Primrose buys, and after opening the box to see the watch, he was so excited that he happily pulled her close, she graciously said.
"Thanks, I love them. Let me dry your hair."
Primrose also did not refuse, sitting on the bed and waiting for Joel to go get the hair dryer. Joel's hair-drying movement is very gentle as if he is afraid Primrose will feel uncomfortable. He slowly ran his hand through Primrose's soft curls and carefully dried them, Primrose felt extremely comfortable but tilted his head back slightly, closing his eyes to feel like a lazy cat. The gentleness of this moment makes them both extremely relaxed and at ease.
