Chapter 10: Chapter 10

Vega POV.

I know everyone expected a bomb ass makeover session where I turned out looking like a drop-dead gorgeous vampire, having long wavy hair that rivaled the wind as it flowed around me, or rose-colored cheeks and cherry red lips, but nope, it didn't happen. The makeover was a disaster because we could hardly get to focus on one thing without a fight breaking out between Andria and Jake. I was part of that equation at some point, due to being frustrated with trying to keep the peace. This was what I got for having two hype friends who loved to get their way in everything. Jake wanted me to keep my curls, and Andria wanted them long and straight. Jake wanted light makeup, Andria wanted dark and mysterious, Jake wanted me in pretty long gowns, Andria said the shorter, the better... I watched them argue back and forth until I thought I was going to pass out. Every place we visited was almost glad to see us leave.

And that was why we were all sitting at the cafe trying to enjoy our cake and coffee. Trying, being the operative word. Jake and Andria were still fuming at each other from earlier, but I was not going to get in the middle of that. I need food right now, and nothing was going to change that, except they decided to get physical. Which I hope not

Android huffed, jerking her hand in Jake's face.

"You ruined everything! My whole freaking plan! I got her to agree to a makeover, so why are you trying to take over with your dumb ideas". That jab hurts even me, but Jake chose to ignore it. He wasn't a guy who got angry that fast.

"I'm not trying to take over anything, I just have better intuition about what would suit her better". He explained calmly, gesturing with his hands.

Andria scoffed, stabbing at her cake.

"Really? And you think she should wear long shimmering gowns cause school's a freaking runway".

"I never said shimmering gowns" he gritted out, almost leaning across the table. I chewed my strawberry cake slowly, before sipping my iced coffee.

Andria leaned forward too, her voice getting harsher. "You didn't need to specify Jake, we both know you have no taste in fashion whatsoever". She said, causing jake to gasp.

"Dammit, I've been trying to hold back all this time. How dare you...?" He was getting ready to go full out before I cleared my throat, rather loudly, drawing attention to our section. Both their gaze snapped on me.

"Glad to finally get your attention, because as you might have noticed, we're in a cafe and the makeover isn't happening".

"It's all Jake's fault." "It's all Andria's fault," they both say in unison, proceeding to give each other the evil eyes, before turning their attention to me.

I took a suffering breath, pasting a fake-as-day smile on my face.

"It's both your fault, and you know why?" I asked, knowing that as soon as Andria opened her mouth, a snarky comment at the expense of Jake would be uttered. I stopped her remark with a shush. "It's because you both didn't bother to ask me if I was cool with your choices. All those changes y'all wanted to make for me should have been decided by me because it's my body, it's my face, so I'm pretty sure I should be allowed the privilege of stating what I want to be done to it, and not have you both shove it down my throat". I got out, meeting each of their gazes in turn. They tried to look remorseful, but I'm sure they still think they're in the right.

"If we are going to continue with this, you both should let me make all the decisions. You might make suggestions, but I want you both to let me choose without you two bickering back and forth like two years old. Are we clear"?

"Crystal!" They both mumble, sour-faced. They are both so alike, jeez.

"Now it's either you shake it out or hug it out, then we start over, if not, we can all go home," I said determined to make them settle their differences.

Andrianna stood up dramatically, eyes rolling as she picked up her bag... Damn, I didn't think the argument was that bad. Was she leaving?. She trudged toward Jake, before ruffling his hair and hugging the life out of him. Jake fought her hold, both of them screaming.

"I'll hug that anger out of you, you annoying little shit" she yelled, smothering him. I snort as both of them continued struggling amidst hoots of laughter. I noticed one of the staff coming toward us. Omfgs. Every single time. Jake succeeds in pushing her off, heaving at the effort. Andria was on the floor, a satisfied look on her face.

The staff got to us, looking very severe. I noticed the others giving us a weird look, which is rude, cause I just saved long years of friendship from crashing. I should be awarded a medal.

"I'm sorry, but you three are disturbing the other customers and if you don't have the courtesy to be quiet, I'm going to have to ask you to leave".

I nodded, my palms together. "We are sorry. My friends are just making up. We'll keep it quiet". I said. She looked skeptical of Andria who still looked mischievous, but she left without another word. Andria took her seat, dusting her dress.

"This place is such a drag... Did you see how she said the word courtesy... She meant it like we were delinquents that don't take to corrections.

"Don't exaggerate. She's just doing her job".

I defended, and Andria just shrugs.

"Well if they played some freaking music here, they won't have to hear me screaming" she got out, a little louder than normal. It was deliberate of course. I rolled my eyes.

"She's the devil's daughter" Jake commented and Andria winked at him.

"You wish this devil's daughter gave you some attention" she teased. I choked on my iced coffee. Jake's mouth was hanging open in shock.

"I know, I know. You have this massive crush on me. It can't be helped when I'm this pretty" she said flipping her hair and wiggling her eyebrow.

"You're being de lulu right? Or maybe you have a fever, cause you know I have a boyfriend" Jake said, feeling up Andria's forehead. She smacked his hand away, frowning.

"Well, I don't see Marcus here. He better keeps his eyes on you or else..." She trailed off winking. I refused to choke a second time. She was on a roll.

Jake shook his head. "Yeah, I'll deliver your message, skipping out all the winking part and stuff".

"Awww, scared your boyfriends going to think you encouraged me or something" she taunted, playing with his hand. I rolled my eyes, before smacking at her hand.

"Stop feeling him up. I'm the only one allowed to, and that's because it's all innocent. You, not so much".

"Ugh, you both are so not fun. I don't have all day. So let's go do what you want to be done to your body ok. Jake, tabs on you" she got up, and flung her expensive purse over her shoulders. "Don't keep me waiting" she said, before sauntering out. I and jake looked at each other, then we burst out laughing. At least we were back on the path to a makeover.
