Chapter 48: Chapter 48

Sana sighed as she scrolled through the images that Oliver had sent of his activities during the week, images she had deliberately ignored and it made her feel shitty because she knew her duty as his mistress was to take care of him and commend him when he did something right but the pain she'd felt being reminded that Oliver was going to eventually get bored and leave her made her resolve harden. Sana shoved her phone into her bag because staring at his image was doing nothing to take away the ache that had settled in her chest since the ex-girlfriend incident.

Sana stepped into the elevator as she thought up ways to break off the contract before she got in too deep. The whole relationship had happened because she wanted to keep her job during the competition and now there wasn't even a competition holding her down anymore. So why did she find it so hard to let go of him?

The elevator opened and she felt her heart rate increase as she stepped out of it and walked toward Oliver's office.

Sana inhaled deeply, walked into his office, and closed the door. She steeled herself to turn to face him, her resolve dwindling as Oliver stared back at her with a tortured eye. His eyes also looked tired, as if he hadn't been sleeping right and the ache in her chest intensified.

Sana's throat dried as she tried to speak.

"Are you angry with me? You didn't reply to any of my messages. I don't... I can't... Please don't break up with me" he begged, his body trembling as he fisted his hands by his side.

"I know you think that I'm not good with commitment but I am. In my past relationships, I always felt as if something was missing, but with you, I feel so complete and I don't want anybody else. Please give me another chance. I won't disappoint you. I swear" he promised and made to walk towards her but she reached out for him to stop.

"You're just saying that because what we have is new for you, once the thrill of this is over, you're going to move on, find someone better and I don't want to be another name on your list, whatever that list is".

"No you're wrong" he yelled, his chest heaving. "I'm really serious about this".

"You love collecting stuff, and if you don't believe me just take a look at your whole office, the same way you do with items that's what you do with women. I'm not some item for you to collect Oliver. I'm a human being with feelings. You didn't even apologize properly to Kate, because you thought she was being overly dramatic right. Is that how it's going to be with me when whatever this is, is over, huh"

He was in her space in a flash, his hands jerking out to catch her fingers in his grasp.

"You're right I was a jerk. I should have been more empathetic because I broke her heart, but I was with you and she was ruining our time together and I just couldn't think. I'm sorry, I know it was wrong of me. I'll never hurt you, Sana. I want to be with you so much that it feels like I'm on the verge of a heart attack sometimes. I don't want you to go back to being my assistant. Please don't leave me. Don't leave me Master" he begged his voice a soft whisper at the end.

Sana inhaled sharply as she stared into his eyes, the urge to kiss him getting stronger because he'd bared his soul to her, and she found out that it was the same way she felt, even stronger.

Sana raised her hand and watched as Oliver's breath caught and held In his throat as he waited for her to touch him, his body trembling in anticipation and it was such a hot sight, knowing it was all because of her and no one else.

"Breath" she ordered as her hand grazed his cheeks and Oliver let out a whoosh of air, his shoulders slumping as the tension drained from them.

Sana caressed his cheek, before trailing her finger over his lips, feeling their soft silky texture. "I won't share you with anyone".

"Neither will I," he said, his voice raspy.

"Good," Sana said, grabbed his hair tightly and jerked him towards her as she kissed him desperately, moaning low in her throat when he returned the kiss with a raving passion that rivaled hers and left her breathless as the fire spread across her skin, warming her from the inside out until she felt like she was drowning in his flames.

Sophia smiled goofily as she arranged the files on Lennox's table for him, then she took notice of the thriving cactus.

"Aww, he took care of you. He's so precious, isn't he? Wanna know a secret" she asked, leaning closer to the plant. "I'm his girlfriend now so he's going to be taking care of me from now on. Don't be mad if he forgets about you, because I'll have you know now that I won't be sharing his attention with anyone" she said, then laughed at how absurd it was for her to be threatening or having a conversation with a plant. Sophia looked up and jerked back in shock, her face flushing as she saw Lennox staring at her, a smile tugging on the corners of his lips.

Sophia felt her face burn as she screamed internally. Why! Why! Why!.

Sophia laughed nervously as she stepped away from the cactus. "I didn't mean any of that. I was just messing around".

"I love you messing around and I'm honored that you won't be sharing me with a cactus" he teased and Sophia groaned.

"I'm going to go jump off the window now," she said and Lennox laughed as he stepped towards her and grabbed her head between his palm, his thumbs sending sparks down her neck as they caressed the skin behind her ears.

"I'll jump with you," he said matter of fact, his eyes twinkling as they stared into hers. "And don't be embarrassed, I love looking at you. A lot. More than I should. You make me happy"

Sophia stared down at her feet, her heart drumming in her chest. "Stop, I think my cheeks are already burning enough".

Lennox tipped her chin up. "Why? I'm saying the truth," he said as he leaned toward her, his intense gaze on her lips. Sophia leaned back just in time, and Lennox stared at her in Surprise.

"You can't kiss me in here. Do you want everyone to find out about us" she whispered and Lennox frowned.

"I want them to know about us. We're together aren't we".

"Yeah, but I don't want to listen to people spreading rumors about me. Can we just take it slow please" she begged, fluttering her lashes.

"Fine" he murmured petulantly and Sophia giggled at how cute he was until he dipped his head and his lips made contact with the tender skin of her neck. Sophia pulled back as the feeling he awakened in her made her whole skin tingle and heat up.

"You can't do that..."

"But I already missed you so much," he said and she gaped at him.

"Are you sure you're Lennox or you're someone else inhabiting his body?" she asked seriously and Lennox chuckled.

"I don't know. You make me clingy I guess and you smell amazing".

Sophia blushed and pressed against him more firmly, her hands wrapping around his waist before she stared up at him. "You're so tall".

"Don't you like tall guys?"

"Oh, you're definitely perfect. I love everything about you" she said as she went on her tiptoes to kiss him. The door burst open and she turned to see Tzuyu staring at them in shock, her mouth hanging open.

Sophia pulled back like she'd been burned.

"Did you find the keys in my pockets?" Lennox said, his voice startling her and she jerked to face him, her brows furrowing before her eyes widened.

"Yes, your keys... I mean no I didn't find them there. I'll search your back pocket then" she said rushing around him and giggling to herself as she felt around his ass, ignoring the pockets. "It's not there Sir Lennox" she got out, her gaze cutting to Tzuyu who looked a bit lost.

"The board members are waiting for you sir Lennox, that's what I came to tell you. I didn't know Sophia was here".

"Of course." He replied curtly, his voice raspy. He turned to face Sophia. "Forget about the keys. I must have left it at home" he made up and Sophia quickly nodded. He turned to face Tzuyu. "And can you try to knock next time you want to come into my office"?

"I knocked. A lot. You didn't answer".

"Knock harder next time," he said and walked out.

Tzuyu whirled to face her as soon as he was gone. "You sly little devil. You took advantage of looking for the keys to hug and feel him up, right" she accused, her eyes bright with mischief.

Sophia laughed. "I did and let me just tell you, his scent is so freaking awesome that I want to sniff at him forever".

"Can I hug you, and get some of it on me?" Tzuyu asked, batting her lashes.

"The answer is no." She answered and walked out of the office as her heart rate settled. That had been close.
