Chapter 13: Chapter 13
Her breath hitched.
Her heart began to pound loudly in ears. Her shoulders hunched as she tried to shrunk away from him but his hand didn't let her. She began to shake like a leaf as her body almost froze. Her teeth clattered with each other.
She was in a tight corner. In a blind alley. At a dead end. She knew if he had asked her then that was bound to happen. Nobody would stop and could stop him. That included her as well. The single night that she spent with her was enough to engrave a deep trauma in her mind. It was enough for her to know who he was. And what he could do if something does not go his way. How barbaric he could get. His every word becomes a law. Unless whatever left his mouth won't become the truth, he won't rest in peace. One lesson he taught her within that short span was never to challenge him.
She still had the will power and the courage to stand against him in her but the wound to her mind was fresh, that it had her locked her own self in a shell. And the key to that lock was lost. She had lost herself.
"What say?" he spoke.
"Please no. I beg you. Please, I can't......I can't do that," she replied in a shaking whisper.
"What if I say I want to?"
She moved her head sideways to look at him. "Please," she murmured, staring in his eyes directly. Her grey orbs grabbing each brain cell in his mind. Her eyes becoming his only focus. All his attention on just her grey orbs which looked painful, anxious and full of anticipation. He was mesmerized by the beauty of her eyes making him wonder why hadn't he noticed her eyes keenly before. They were so beautiful.... innocent....captivating. And he was captivated.
Suddenly his trance broke and he blinked as his eyes darkened.
"Dhoka deti hain yeh nazrain," he muttered under his breath and turned his head away as he stood up.
(Treacherous are these eyes)
She expectantly looked at him, waiting for his response. Fervently hoping he would let her go, tightly holding her hands.
"Are you.....you-you going to," she couldn't complete her sentence.
"Save it. I'm not," he replied and she took a breath of relief. Closing her eyes, she gulped the restlessness down before opening them again.
"You are joining from tomorrow," he announced.
"I won't," she shook her head, scurrying away from him by going on the far end of the bed like a cat. "I won't," she shook her head again, as she wrapped her arms around her legs.
"You will," he asserted. "Will and have to. I have your sign," he told.
"I don't know how did that happen. I never signed such thing,"
"Do you listen to me or not? Remember what I told you while giving the papers to sign?"
She recalled when he had her undressed completely, he took out a paper from her drawer and forwarded it to her demanding for her sign. Upon asking, he told her it was the contract that she would be getting the money after this night and asked her twice to read carefully while taking off his shirts as his pants were still on him. She tried to cover herself with her shirt lying on the floor when he held her hand and didn't let her. Her body was shivering and her mind was hay-wire. And when she began to read the paper, he stood behind her and began to move his caress her body, moving his thumb from her chest to her bottom, making her more and more hysterical. She was trying to read but couldn't focus, more so, when suddenly he attached her back to his chest and whispered near her ear, "be quick," She remember how her heart was pounding in her chest. He was scrutinizing her body from head to toe while she was bare infront his eyes. Taking the pen, she signed it not being able to read it carefully because of his ministrations on her body.
"I didn't read it," she whispered to herself, "you-you tricked me!" she cried out, "you tricked me. Why did you not make me sign that contract before you-you,"
"Undressed you, right?"
She looked away, "you should have made me sign before the start of...everything," she couldn't select the right words.
"Ahaan," he reprimanded, "that was just the start of night, Sheharzaad. And you had me angry with that challenging tone of yours. I'm not being unfair, I told you to read it carefully if you remember,"
"You were touching me..... you were looking at me while I-I was bare infront your-your eyes and you didn't let....let me cover myself and I-I was hysterical. I didn't know what was I....I signing up for," she weeped on her wretched state of mind. On her wretched fate.
The contract came with a condition and that was, if she wanted to get the loan within a day then she has to spend a night with him along with two more months to work in the company. And if she wanted to leave the company after that night, then half of the amount was to be returned within four days. And she didn't read the conditions carefully. She signed it because she was too nervous and fearful at that time. She was overwrought and felt vulnerable. She wasn't in the right state of her mind.
"But you signed up for this. Bear it,"
"You knew I would have never signed that contract if I read it. You played with my mind," she claimed.
"Well, that I did. No denying in that. But that's not my fault, is it now?" he asked and then placed his knee on the bed, as he moved closer to her, gripping her chin instantly.
"And you know what, fuck it all. The contract, money and the timing. I don't care because I would have you fucked nevertheless. Or else my mind wouldn't let you rest in peace. I don't need a piece of paper with your sign to have you in my bed. Now fucking got me?" he stated. His voice dropped notches down as he said it ever so seriously and dreadfully.
She flinched, trying to move away from him. He looked terrifying making her breathless.
"You were on my mind and I wanted you out of this brain but the thing is even after that you're still on my mind. Now what I'm supposed to do? To let you go? No baby. That's not even an option,"
It came as a shocker to her as she found herself in a new mess. The thought was making her breathless.
"Then what will happen to me? What's my...my fault?" she asked, while cleaning her tears.
"Here is the error Sheharzaad. You fail to understand and believe but when I had said I wanted to own you, I wasn't joking,"
I own you.
Her mind remembered the instance when he made that claim.
Flashback
They were in the room attached to his office. He had her on the bed, writhing under him. He could feel the shaking of her legs. Her eyes were closed and tears were cascading down into her locks. He could see, she was in pain.
"I told you I would be rough," He uttered and she slowly opened her eyes. She had opened her eyes only on certain instances throughout the night and it was one of those moments.
"Aren't you satisfied yet?" She asked in her croaky voice.
"No. The night has just began," he stated.
"When would you....you," she became breathless as he began to pound in harder and harder, "leave me?" she asked and he gave her a powerful stroke shaking her body terrifically and the orgasm that was build up in her abdomen, released.
"I want to own you, Sheharzaad," he muttered, pulling out of her while grabbing her thigh and lying it on his muscular shoulder, "Every inch of you," his hushed voice said as he opened her legs wider, "Every inch, Sheharzaad," and again pounded in her.
Flashback ends
"You...you don't own me,"
He pulled away from her as he stood up, smoothing his clothes.
"I will show you when the time would come, Sheharzaad,"
"I'm...I'm not a toy,"
"I don't fucking care," he said crasslessly, "and I want you in the office tomorrow,"
"I don't want to come! I don't want to! Please!" she wailed.
"We want and don't want alot of things and not all the things happen according to our want. Either give me half the amount of money by next three days or come to the office tomorrow,"
"That contract holds no importance! Go and show it anywhere, I won't come,"
"Oh?" he raised his brow, "the contract holds no importance?"
"Yes, it does not,"
"Then let me think of what hold importance," he said and began to stroll around, tapping his fingers against his forehead, his eyes closed as if he was contemplating something.
"I've got a great idea," he spoke after a moment and snapped his fingers. "What's your friend's name, again?"
"No!" she shook her head, realizing what he was about to say.
"Ah Amna. And her hospital..... if I'm not wrong, somewhere near our company, right?"
It was an eye opener for her. How does he know so much about in which hospital was she admitted.
"And her doctor, Dr. Najam," he claimed with a ghost of smile on his face as he looked at her, "so here's the thing, if you won't come to the company I will cease your friend's treatment and there are two ways to do so, either kill the doctor or the patient. Yeah, I know you can get another doctor but definitely he would need some time to study the case so maybe for a short period of time her treatment would be ceased or rather I must cease it permanently by sending your friend up above the sky. What option do you like more?"
She was apalled. Horrified. And shocked. Her mouth hung open as she tried to process his words.
Was he serious?
A sudden surge of anger bubbled up in her making her take deep breaths as she looked at him, enraged. She lunged towards him, her hands forming a fist.
"You liar! You can't do this! You are a liar!" she striked her fists against his chest, harshly. "You bastard! Fucker! Crim-"
All of a sudden, she fell on the bed as he backhanded her sharply. He placed his knee on the bed and threaded his fingers in her thick locks, pulling her up.
"Control your tongue when talking to me," he threatened.
She held his hand that he had in her locks trying to lessen his hold but he increased the pressure making her croak.
"Or what, what you will do to me?!" she challenged, as the tears gushed out in a sudden and forceful stream.
This time her face snapped to the left as he slapped her on the other side of her face.
"You want to know more?" he cocked his brow. Rage emanating from his form as he took heavy breaths.
She turned her head to him, looked in his eye and nodded her head as the tears continued gushing out her eyes but still she gave him a nod.
"Fine then," he left her hair, took out the blade he had in his holster and threw it on the table.
"NAWAZ!" He called out loudly and the man came running down, this time around with double speed. His hands crossed as he looked down, this time around he was looking troubled.
"Yes sir?" he breathlessly asked.
"Bring that bastard here!"
"Yes sir," he quickly gave him a nod and ran out of the room.
Shehryaar waited for his men to come as he took in deep breaths. Anger clouding his senses. He felt like he would do something terrible as he began to roll his sleeves up, revealing his arms.
When he glanced at her, she pushed herself away more, whimpering.
Sweat was formed on her forehead as the anticipation was making her heart feel the pain, physically. She thought she did something wrong. She shouldn't have reacted that way. That wasn't the right way and now she was becoming extremely anxious.
Soon some men filled the room with a third man who was in chains and blindfolded. He was made to kneel infront Shehryaar and Shehryaar ordered all his men to go and only one to be in the room.
As the room was empty with just four of them, that included, Shehryaar. her and the the third man with one of his men.
Shehryaar proceeded to remove the blindfold from that man's eyes and as soon as the blindfold was removed, he looked up only to find himself knelt infront Shehryaar. He immediately looked down.
"Sire,"
"Shigri," he said.
"Master," Shigri uttered, "Forgive me,"
"No forgiveness for you. Forget that,"
"Please master! Where would I go?"
"Looks like I care? Tell me why did you kill the minister when I asked you to just kidnap him,"
"Master, I did it by mistake,"
"LIE!" He shouted and rose his hand before giving him a hard slap that Shigri fell down on the floor.
Sheharzaad who watched him giving the poor man, a slap so harsh almost shrieked when his deadly eyes landed on hers and she gulped in all the voices struck in her throat.
"Get up!" he commanded and Shigri knelt down.
He held his mandible making him look up.
"You did it on somebody's orders. You knew I needed the minister,"
"Master, please! I didn't!"
This time around, he punched him at his mandible dislocating his jaw. He cried out.
"Is that Khurram Osmani?" he asked, but Shigri wasn't able to speak because his jaw was twisted.
"I d-don't kn-know," he spoke with difficulty when another punch landed on his mandible.
"Give me your knife," he put forth his hand and asked his serviceman for his knife and he immediately placed it on his hands.
"Tell me, whose orders did you receive?" he asked, while tracing the knife from his forehead to his jaw, a trail of blood falling from where the blade of the dagger pierced his skin.
Sheharzaad now shrieked, closing her eyes and putting her hands infront her eyes so she could not see anything.
"Bring his jaw back to its position." he demanded his serviceman as he moved towards Sheharzaad.
She shouted when he suddenly took her hands away from her eyes.
"You are not even allowed to blink, Sheharzaad. Look at the scene that I want you to show and certainly your turn would come as well," he whispered, "now don't cover your eyes with these pretty little hands. I have that blade lying for you already," he hissed, making her breathless and anxious. Sobs accumulating in her throat.
He turned away to Shigri who was wailing in pain.
"Shigri!" he called out him, "are you going to tell the truth or not?"
"I will tell master," he cried out. His two punched were enough for Shigri to establish what was bound to come if he didn't tell the truth.
"It's not Khurram Osmani. Minister Afendi does not have any relation with the drug consignment your brother is shipping,"
"Then who is it?"
"Someone else," he cried out, "he asked me to kill MNA Afendi as he had my family in his custody. I received a video,"
"Why didn't you come to me?"
"I was afraid sire. I thought you would think that I was involv-"
"You don't sit in my fucking brain," he jeered.
"I'm sorry, master. I was afraid. I would never repeat the same mistake,"
"What else do you know?"
"Master....I don't know much. I just received a call to kill the minister,"
Shehryaar contemplated for a second as he spoke again, "who else was aware that I gave you this order?"
"No one sir. I didn't tell it to anyone,"
"You did. You certainly did,"
"I didn't sir, I swear,"
"I'll sort that out, now as to address your betrayal and breaking of the mafia code," he spoke and took out the gun from his holster, pointing it towards Shigri.
"No sire! Please no!" he begged.
"Thank god I'm not torturing you to death,"
And Shigri fell down like a sack of potato on the floor as the bullet penetrated through his forehead.
His attention diverted towards Sheharzaad who screamed so loudly that he was sure half of the neighbourhood would have woken up. The gun was on silencer so it didn't make much noise.
He immediately placed his finger on her lips.
"Shhh.... " he hushed, indicating her to keep quiet and she silenced, silently sobbing as she looked at him, trepidatiously.
"Take him away," he ordered his man and soon Shigri's dead body was taken away, leaving them both alone in the room.
"Please! Please! (hiccup) please! (hiccup) please!" she cried out, now joining her hands infront him. She didn't know what to say to him and the only word coming on her mind was 'please'
"Please what?" he asked, throwing his gun on the bed making her cower away from it.
"Please (sob) please! Please!" she was crying hysterically and wasn't able to breathe properly. Her face had turned red as she wasn't breathing between her sobs.
"Quiet. Stop crying. Quiet now," he ordered and she began to take deep breaths to stop herself from crying. She tried to lessen her sobs by taking deep breaths but again the hiccups would hit her hard, shaking her form. Her mind was erratic, wild, disorganized. She wasn't able to comprehend of what just happened. As she was trying to control her sobs but couldn't, she began to cry out of his terror as he had asked her to quieten but she couldn't control her sobs. Her hands began to shiver badly and she couldn't control the hiccups, she immediately proceed to drink water. She wanted to suppress those convulsive gasps and she was failing to do so. Every now and then, her eyes would catch his glance as her shivering hands poured the water for her. She drunk the water greedily in between her fit of sobs and a sudden nausea hit her so she rushed to the washroom and vomited.
It was the first time, she saw it so close. She had been depressed for such a long time after witnessing Usman's death and she wondered how she would survive witnessing Shigri's death. She washed her face and tried to calm her nerves down as now the sobs were down to small whimpers.
A sudden idea hit her and she locked the door of the washroom so he couldn't enter. If he walked to that room then that would mean she walked to her own death. She didn't want to be anywhere near him and especially after today she would want to run away from him. His words rung in her mind when he warned her that her turn would come. It caused a shiver travel through her whole body.
She began to anticipate of what would be happening next as she was waiting for his arrival making her heart beat in her ears and now her heart sanked when she felt the footsteps coming closer towards the washroom door.
The door knocked and she pulled away from the door, taking heavy breaths.
"Ma'am sir is calling you in the room," someone informed her.
"T-tell him I-I'm coming,"
"Ok ma'am," he said and went away.
Her body was shivering badly as she hurriedly began to examine that what she was doing right or wrong. Was it a good thing to stay here or not?
The sane part of her mind told her no while the insane part wanted to be far away from him. She wanted to remain here and step out at the same time. Taking in a deep breath, she opened the tap and joined her hands together under the water, so she could drink water. As soon as the water filled between her hands, she drunk it trying to calm herself when suddenly she felt the footsteps striking against the floor and approaching the washroom. She hurriedly closed the tap, unlocked the washroom and stepped out only to find him standing out there.
He looked at his wrist watch and then up at her, "twenty minutes?"
"I was feeling....sick," she answered, her shivering hands trying the clean the sweat on her forehead.
"Hmm.... plans. Plans. Other plans," he narrowed his eyes at her, while tapping his fingers against his wrist watch and her eyes widened, understanding what he meant.
"No," she denied, "I was...coming. I'm not lying,"
"Fine. Come with me,"
She gulped. "Me?"
"Don't be ridiculous. Come," he ordered and she followed him to her room.
As soon as they entered the room, he moved towards the table and got a hold of the blade that he had earlier thrown on the table.
"So where were we exactly," he said and pointed her to come towards him. Hesitatingly, she strolled towards her with slow steps.
"You were saying something,"
"No. I wasn't," she answered shaking her head in a negative.
"But I remember. You were running some unladylike words on that tongue. Bastard, fucker etc etc," he stated, and pulled the knife out of the blade, "and were asking that what would I do and also you were claiming that I can't kill that mere friend of yours," he reminded her, "now let's get back to that,"
"I didn't-didn't m-m-mea..n s...so," she stuttered badly.
"Nevertheless, first things first, you were saying what I can do to you if you would keep on running that tongue on me, now pull that tongue out of yours. I want to show you what I can do,"
"I learnt my lesson," she said abruptly, "I swear, I-I l-learnt my lesson," she cried out.
"That quick?"
"Please. I did. I-I swear,"
"Is that so," he hummed, "then assure me. Report what you learnt," he demanded, the blade still in his hands as he pulled his hand down.
"That...that to never run my tongue against you and-and to never ch-challenge you,"
"But I want the message to sink in. You would again become as rebellious as you were moments ago if I let this go. Now come to me, I want to cut your tongue,"
"No, please. I promise, I won't do that. And I would come to the company tomorrow and I will-will also try to return your money," she tried to assure him, taking a few steps back when his eyes noticed her taking step backwards. Noticing that he noticed of her moving away, she immediately moved closer to him out of fear.
"La..last ch-chance?" she stuttered.
He chuckled, finding it amusing that how she asked for a last chance. He threw the blade away and opened his arms, "come give me a hug,"
"Me?"
"You don't want to?"
"No," she abruptly said, "no. I want to. I-I w-will," she said and walked towards him and he enveloped her in his arms.
"You witnessed something, Sheharzaad which you weren't supposed to," he uttered.
"What do you mean?"
He pulled back, "Welcome to the my world, Sheharzaad. You would be kept under my watch now as you have witnessed something you weren't suppose to. Now you can't go anywhere until you are dead,"
"W...w..what?" She blinked her eyes trying to decipher the meaning as she hunched up her shoulders.
"I will explain it to you, soon," he addressed the confusion swirling between her eyes.
"And are you coming to the company tomorrow?" he asked on purpose and she gave a swift nod to that.
"Yes. I'm,"
"Hmm.. good enough. Now I'll take my leave," he rubbed her arms and then walked towards the door of room.
He stopped near the door of her room before turning back and looked towards her.
"And tomorrow you will join the company as the PA to the CEO," he told and left, leaving her shell shocked.
