Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Henley
My eyes widened as I felt my heart racing.
Why was he here?
"What is this? What are you doing here?" I asked, looking down at his blood-soaked shirt.
"Five guys are out there, right? With Arabian haircut?" He asked, and I nodded.
When they said something about taking the guy out. Was it him?
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
"Why are you here? Why did you come here?" I asked again.
"They guys are waiting for you, Henley." I heard Diego yell from the door.
"Be right there, got some difficulties here," I yelled back.
"Do you need some help?!" My eyes widened, thinking about how Diego would react, seeing a blood-soaked man in our winery.
Oh God..come help me!
"Don't tell me little Henley doesn't love me anymore. I'd be so pissed."
I laughed. A menacing laugh that made me look more evil than I already was.
"No, I'm fine. I got this, just give me a minute."
It was none other than Alessandro De'toire. The only man I had ever loved. Like I said...had!
Had is a past tense.
I untied my bow tie and pressed it hard on the wound.
"Take off your shirt. God! I'm wasting a lot of time, they'll come to find me soon." I said.
"Go and give them what they want and make sure to come here once you're done."
"Is that an order?" I asked, feeling my fist clenching hard.
"Yes." He answered and smirked.
Even in death, Sandro was still acting like a God.
Well...he was a God.
The Only Son of De'toire Luciano. The country's conglomerate and the greatest mobster in the city.
Money was a little thing for people like Sandro.
He'd throw a fifty cent as if it didn't matter and yes for him he didn't.
It wasn't for people like us though. We worked seven days for a cent.
I stood up, clenching my fist as I head out of the winery, after cleaning my bloody hands with the rag that was hung to wipe the wine clean.
Grabbing the wine I had got in to take, I took off to the bar.
"Hey, took you a long time to get wine," Diego said and I chuckled a nervous one.
"Are you okay?"
"Like I said I had some difficulties, look how I'm sweating. Where's Ryan?" I asked.
"Go serve your people at the last table, dudes I've been talking trash about the waitress who left them hanging."
Ouch! I had even forgotten those existed.
"Can you help me give them their drinks?" I asked and Diego sighed.
"Why?'
"I don't like them, they give me the creeps. Looking like forsaken robbers."
"Okay, but you'll have to help fill in for me tomorrow morning." He said and I nodded.
"Got it," I said and he blew a kiss.
I saw Ryan talking to the posh lady that seem to be his girlfriend.
She was nice and had that white set of teeth that made me envy her.
I walked to them and whispered to Ryan.
"I have to go now... please, it's urgent," I whispered and he frowned.
Taking an excuse from the pretty woman, he walked with me till we got to the counter and hissed.
"What excuse is it this time Henry!"
"It's Henley and please, it's just a one-time excuse. When I've I ever taken an excuse before Ryan." I said, and he sighed.
"When and where are you going?" He asked.
"One glass of Bacardi!" A customer yelled, causing me to clench my fist.
"On the way," I yelled back before turning to Ryan.
"Please? I have to leave now to Philadelphia, my uncle is about to undergo surgery and there's no one.."
"What about your brother?"
"Tim can't go right now."
"Why?"
"God damnit, the more I waste time..the more he dies Ryan." I hissed and he glared.
"You're not the doctor who's going to treat him, Henry, relax till we're done for the day."
"No! I have to go" I said more firmly and Ryan sighed.
"When will you be back? Philadelphia isn't in the backyard of the store."
"Next week maybe."
"There's no maybe Henry.."
"Henley." I corrected and he huffed.
"Whatever you're called, there's no maybe. Come back here next week or I'll have to come there and get you myself. Clock out." He said and I nodded, smiling.
I ran out of the bar and into the girl's room to get my things.
Changing into a better outfit and taking off the tight mini skirt.
I walked out of the room and heard to the winery.
"A bottle of Morgan Rum from the winery Hen!" Diego yelled and I threw him a glare.
"It's Henley, how can you all not get it right!" I groaned, walking into the winery and picking up the bottle he had asked for before going for Sandro.
"How did you get in here?" I asked, to see his point at the small door behind the rack of wine.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"The fucking wound is not fucking healing itself Henley, get me the fucking outta here." He hissed and I sighed.
Ten minutes later we were down the mid-lane, waiting for a taxi or a cab.
When we got one, I helped him settle in before getting in too, and settling my bum on the seat.
I didn't know why he had decided to come to meet me when he had all those badass friends who would have helped him however and whenever...but he was disturbing my work!
He was badly injured and it made me slightly worried that he would die without telling me where the fucking hell is my brother!
"Don't frown like that, you'll get wrinkles early and die old." He mumbled.
I rolled my eyes and kept staring at the car, wondering where we were headed since he had sneaked something into the driver's hand and whispered something to him.
Suddenly, just as the driver made a U-Turn, she heard something make a sound, and as she popped her head out of the car window... a loud bang! resonated in the air and everywhere went silent.
