Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Henley
I sat down on the couch of the living room, stuffing the pie into my mouth as I licked my mint chocolate.
Finn was not around and Paxton was with Jonas and the other jerk, discussing about some Mafia stuff.
"Are you hungry?" Mrs Gloria asked, and I shook my head.
I wasn't hungry, I was tired. I didn't want to stay here anymore and I'd give up the three cent I had to leave this place.
"Will you escort me to the city?" It was Paxton that whispered into my ear, making my eyes widened.
"Really?" I grinned and he nodded.
"But there's one thing you need to obey." He said and I frowned playfully.
"Do not leave my side and follow me always." He said, and I nodded.
They were part of the biggest Mafia in the whole country, the very same one Sandro would rule soon..if he wasn't ruling already.
"Let's go." He said, and I jumped up in excitement.
I loved Paxton and Finn so badly.
"What are we getting there? Your going to buy me a lot of chocolate when we get there and, Ha! Remember that stuffy cream?" I asked, and he nodded laughing.
"How did you do it? I recall that jerk saying I was not allowed out of the Mansion? How did you do it?" I asked and I swear I thought I saw him tense and then he smiled.
A smile that didn't reach his eyes.
"To get you a new phone." He said, and my eyes widened the more.
"But then..."
"Sandro broke your old phone Henley, don't expect to get it back. Besides that phone was never suppose to exist like five years ago. How could you use that?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
Yes, I knew I used an outdated phone but it doesn't mean he should rub it on my face like that.
I hissed and he chuckled.
"Now be a good girl and I'll get you the latest in the whole world." He said, and a smile crept to my lips.
"Okay, I'm already good." I said and he smiled.
"Good girl." Paxton said and I smiled widely.
We got to San High, the place for the best phone accessories.
Only the rich ventured such a place.
One should at least have a million dollars before he or she could walk in.
"Wooah." I shook my head..
"I've always wondered how the inside of this place would look like. I'm not disappointed." I said and Paxton laughed.
"I would have taken you here long time ago, but you decided to leave." He said, and I rolled my eyes.
He knew why I left.
"Where's Finn?" I asked, and he sighed.
"Chasing a thing in skirt. Says she's the real deal but they're always the same...well, except you of course." He said and I nodded.
"Except me."
"Welcome Mr Torebelle. What do you want?"
"And Good day Miss..."
"Mrs De'toire." Paxton competed and my eyes widened.
"It's Henley dear, Miss Henley." I said, and the woman nodded confused.
"Why would you do that?!" I whispered and hit him on his side.
He was such a jerk!
"I just said the truth...and nothing more." He clicked his tongue and i hit him again.
There was no truth in that sentence. Sandro and I? Never going back together, talk more about getting married.
I wasn't that crazy.
We were walked to a rack of different beautiful phones.
One glance at one of these phones and you would know that wealth could solve every damn problem there was on Earth.
Just like my messed up car in Starburns or my wrecked apartment, or my yoga hall that was already sold out.
"Earth to Henley." Paxton snapped his finger at me and I shook the thought away.
Wealth was not just for everyone, if it were, there wouldn't be a poor person.
"Which one do you like?" He asked and I giggled.
They were all beautiful and we were at the iPhone rack.
How could a man sit down and create this?
I was feeling reluctant in picking anything. They were all so expensive.
"Which is the latest of them all?" Paxton asked the sales lady, with a sigh.
"This Sir, it's called iPhone 14 Pro Max." The lady answered and I felt the little life in me, draining when I saw the price tag.
"Then wrap it up, the cover should be blue.. She loves blue." He said again.
No, no no, there was no way I'd be taking something so expensive.
"I can't take that Paxton, look at the price tag."I pointed and he shook his head.
"It's a Whopping five hundred thousand dollars." I mumbled, and he nodded, giving the lady his card.
"What are you doing?"
"Sandro destroyed your phone Henley, and I'm only doing what I'm suppose to do, after all, you're just like a sister to us all." He said.
"Really?" I asked, feeling my eyes damp.
"You're seriously not asking me that, right?" He teased and I sniffed back the tears.
Paxton was such a darling.
They lady brought back the phone and did the necessary thing. We bought a Sim card there and he inserted it into the phone.
"Where are we off to now?" I asked, as we began to walk out of the place.
"What about Cream world? I bet the have the best ice cream in the whole world." He said, winking and I nodded excitedly.
"You're not going to take much, right? I wouldn't want Sandro strangling my neck because I gave you overdose."
"Ice cream does not kill Paxton and I'm not a child. Not his child." I groaned and he nodded, laughing.
"You're acting like an ass now." I said, and he nodded again.
"Stop that." I glared at him, and he nodded again, that teasing smile on his face.
Gad! I hated him.
Just a little, not like I hated Sandro though.
If I were to kill Sandro after hammering his fingers one by one, I would give Paxton a quick one...just a bullet into his head for all the teasing.
"You look like you're about to kill me Henry." He said, and I glared.
"It's Henley."
"Henley." He mumbled, as we walked into the ice cream shop.
It was huge.
"That isn't a name for a lady you know." He clicked his tongue and i glared at him.
"You're crazy." I said, and he nodded.
"What do you want Ma'am and Sir?" The sales girl asked.
"Mint chocolate for him and vanilla with a little banana flavour by the side for me." I said, and she nodded going away with the ice cream bowl.
"Still have a thing for vanilla and banana I see, old habits die hard." He clicked his tongue again and I glared at him.
"You're becoming an ass." I said and he turned and wiggled his ass.
My eyes widened and I coughed as the sales girl laughed.
Paxton was crazy!
We grabbed our bowl of ice cream and began to eat as we walked to the car.
Just then his phone rang and I turned to see him frown.
"Why? I don't think now's the best time to do that thing. Fanculo! (Fuck!)." He clenched his phone hard and the smile on my face faded.
"Is there a problem?" I asked, as he disconnected the call.
I had never seen him so angry like this.
"Let's go Henley." He said, and we walked out.
"Where are we going?" I asked after we've walked quite a long distance from where the ice cream world was and where his car was parked.
Turning around I frowned when I didn't see him anywhere close by.
Where was Paxton? Did he go back to the shop?
How could I stupidly lost him like that?
And maybe he had thought that I was walking beside him.
I ran my hand through my hair.
"Fuck!"
