Chapter 44: Chapter 44
Myra saw Jake hesitate.
It was now or never. She had to have answers to her doubts about the marriage with Jake. If she and Jake didn’t have that chemistry together, that proved one thing: she wasn’t truly in love with Jake.
Even when she owned those memories of cheating on Hart with Jake, and she knew she loved him at one point.
But those three years that she had lost; had she loved him?
She only wished that she had written down the memories somewhere, like a diary of some sorts, to ascertain her feelings for him during those three years.
She saw Jake come near. That’s right, she said in her mind. Come closer. I just want to feel if we have that chemistry between us.
He took off his polo shirt slowly, followed by his three-quarter pants. Looking at him shirtless, she realised how he had lost weight. He didn’t seem like the same Jake that she had lay in bed with back when she met with his father to discuss their impending marriage. He must have changed so much during these three years.
She reached for his boxers.
“Myra.”
The sound of him calling her name made her stop mid-way.
“Yes, Jake?”
“Myra, if you don’t remember, then it’s best we hold off on this for now. Until you are ready.”
Instead, she pulled on the bow of her bathrobe, letting it fall to the tiles of the bathroom floor. He stared, seemingly besotted by her alluring figure. She still had her charm.
“Jake, let’s try.”
“Are you sure, Myra? Do you think you need a little more time? You said you’ve not remembered what happened in the last three years.”
“Let me remember now, Jake.”
She grabbed his hand and placed it on her bare shoulder, gazing intensely into his eyes. His expression never changed, staying as serious as he was.
He didn’t say a word more, but followed her lead, moving his hands downwards to cup her bust. Somehow, it seemed all forced between them, but she refused to believe it.
“Myra, you’re naughty today.”
“I want it, Jake.”
“Here?”
She dragged him towards the long bathtub. The water was still warm, and she settled into it provocatively, spreading her slender legs and seducing her to follow him into the tub.
He paused, as if he wasn’t sure, but a gesture from her led him to slip off his boxers and enter the tub after her.
“Kiss me, Jake.”
She felt the fire on his lips as he did as he was told, but the feeling was alien to her. Like, she didn’t know him anymore. He wasn’t the Jake of the past, although he was just as handsome as before. He was sure to be hiding something from her. And she needed to find out.
She kissed Jake back fervently. His fingers circled her buds, eliciting a soft moan from her. Even with the alien feeling, her body was still reacting to his touch. He crashed his lips against hers hard, silencing her moans.
“More,” she thought.
His hardness poked near her core, bringing forth her memory of their intercourse at the deserted house. Was this her cue to ask him to take her now?
He suddenly broke the kiss between them.
“Myra, you know where this leads.”
She nodded. He simply lifted her up and carried her, still dripping from the water from the tub, and laid her on the bed. Taking a towel nearby, he dried her carefully, before doing the same for himself.
Myra smiled shyly, gazing into his emotionless eyes.
“Don’t stop, Jake. Show me what you’re made of.”
“A minute.”
He descended on her slowly, plunging his fingers gently into her cavity while exploring her body with his tongue. She moaned again. Trust Jake to know how to pleasure her with his mouth. But she wanted the real thing.
“Jake, more… please…”
“I don’t know what you’re up to tonight, Myra, but I’ll grant your wish.”
Myra closed her eyes and lost herself in the need pulsating in her abdomen. She could feel his manhood grind against her core, while his fingers delved deep inside her. Fluid trickled down from her cavity, wetting the sheets below her.
She couldn’t take it anymore. She wanted him inside her now.
Jake retracted his fingers, giving them a prompt suck. Then, without saying a word, he lifted her legs and thrusted into her in a single stroke.
“Jake!” She couldn’t refrain from screaming his name out in pleasure. He moved more quickly, taking her faster and faster. Was she sexually deprived or something? She couldn’t handle it a second more, as if she was going to explode.
The room fell silent. Hot liquid permeated her body, almost endlessly. The spasming feeling in her diminished slowly and they fell back onto the bed, tangled in each other.
“That felt good,” she purred. “When was the last time we did it?”
“Two years ago.”
“What? That long?” Her eyes fell open in shock.
“I waited for you, Myra. That one time we did it, we were drunk. After that, you never seemed to want it. You lamented the loss of our pregnancy. In fact…”
He stopped before he could finish his sentence.
“In fact what?” she looked at him demandingly.
“In fact, I thought you fell out of love with me. You went on vacation by yourself, and it was always to that place. Bali.”
“I? Bali?”
Myra found it hard to believe what Jake was telling her.
“It was like you were trying to find something. Or someone. I trusted you, so I didn’t question where you went, or spy on you. But every time you came back, you looked so depressed.”
What could she be doing in Bali? Myra questioned herself. She knew it meant one thing: she had been looking for Hart. But why did she need to find him, when she had already married Jake?
Was there some secret Jake had hidden from her, that she needed to find Hart to speak to him in person?
Whatever it was, she had to find out more about what she had discovered during her trip. But now was not the time. Before she did that, she needed to understand more about her relationship with Jake as his wife.
She got up slowly and headed to the bathroom to wash off the stickiness between her legs. Jake seemed to have such a heavy load, that she had forgotten about it.
When she came out of the bathroom, she felt his arms wrap around her waist.
“Myra?”
She didn’t have to ask to know what was on his mind. He carried her again, bridal style, to the bed and let her down. This time, he flipped her over and took her in a different position.
It seemed to Myra that sparks were reviving the dead relationship between them. While he was inside her, she could only think of Jake and the pleasure of their sex.
But despite that, a lot of questions still remain unanswered in her heart. She made up her mind to think about those later.
He nipped her neck teasingly, before sucking hard on it. The first thought that occurred to her was how he would leave her a mark, but she wasn’t bothered. They were husband and wife now, and this was a normal part of their married life.
“Jake?” Myra asked after he was taking her a third time.
“Yes, my dear wife?”
“Can we do this… always?”
He was surprised by her question. “Myra, you never seemed to want it. At all.”
It made sense to her. If she wasn’t into sex, it was a small wonder that he suspected she wasn’t into him, or had someone else in her heart. Maybe he didn’t want to say it. But she hoped her sixth sense was right and that he was the one she wanted.
After all, he was the man she had loved for a long time. Not Hart. Hart was her responsibility, but she did still wish to find out why he had left her without saying anything at all.
“I do now,” she answered abruptly, causing him to freeze in his action.
“So, you like what I’m doing to you now, Myra?” She heard his voice turn intense. He was taking her from the back and she couldn’t see his expression.
He pounded into her hard.
“Yes, Jake.”
Instead of being turned off by how desirous he was, she was aroused.
“Then, do you promise not to leave me ever again?”
“What?” she gasped. The way he thrusted in and out of her was driving her insane. How could she have even considered leaving him on a holiday by herself?
“Do you promise?”
He finished inside her, pulling her into his arms and stared at her for a very long time.
His words echoed in her ears. She couldn’t fathom what he had meant by her leaving him.
“Do you mean the holiday I went alone to Bali?”
Jake let out a sigh.
“I’ll explain more to you tomorrow. For now, you need a long rest.”
Was there something she ought to remember?
