Chapter 1554: Chapter 1554
Chapter 1554: Chapter 500: Better Off Without This Sister!
As the saying goes, righteousness travels the world, while unrighteousness can’t take a step. Wayne confidently holds the moral high ground; the Death Banshees are making trouble unreasonably, acting irrationally, and naturally they all fall flat.
After the banshees collapse, the undead creatures they summoned disperse, either disappearing on the spot or wandering around aimlessly in small groups.
Omilos collapses to the ground, looking at Wayne in terror. His injuries aren’t severe—not even a scratch—but the Life Domain of the demigod is confined within, as if sealed and unusable.
This Skeleton Soldier is too powerful, so strong it’s incomprehensible.
Looking at Sukra, who is lying on the ground with her butt stuck up, Omilos just wants to ask one question: how was this Skeleton Soldier cultivated, and why would such a ridiculous thing as murdering its master happen?
Sukra grits her teeth, lying on the ground, casting a resentful gaze at Wayne.
Even though she can’t win, she still isn’t convinced.
Wayne and Sukra have been friends for a while; he can’t really strike her butt. Making a big issue small, he opts to gently pat her butt instead.
“Hey, not a bad feel!”
Sukra’s heart laments; defeated and now humiliated, she wishes she could just bash her head against Wayne and end it.
If she could, she would have already carried out her promise and splashed Wayne with blood.
“Since no one is speaking, I’ll just say a few words.”
Wayne clenches his fist and clears his throat: “Before I speak, let me lay down the rules. There’s only one: I’m the only one who can interrupt here. Everyone okay with that?” Follow current novᴇls on NoveIFire.net
No one speaks, and emotions remain stable, indicating agreement.
“There’s actually not much to say. I’m sure many of you have already noticed that I am a God-chosen Knight of the Goddess. As the Goddess slumbers while Hades is in deep crisis, I’m here to purge the rebels and awaken the Goddess,” Wayne says slowly.
After speaking, he shakes his head.
No one interrupts, to his mild disappointment.
Once Wayne pauses, Laisha retorts forcefully: “If you are a God-chosen Knight, and you know Rone, you should know the truth about Hades and wouldn’t attack us.”
“I did say, but you didn’t believe me, and even cast divine arts on me. Attacking you all was purely out of helplessness.”
Wayne spreads his hands: “Attacking you is not the goal, but to calm you down so you would listen to me explain things clearly.”
“But you attacked the Goddess!” Omilos adds.
“Firstly, that was an illusory image of the Goddess created by divine arts, not the real Goddess.”
Wayne unflinchingly retorts: “Secondly, I merely swung one sword, and the invincible Goddess fell. Does that seem reasonable?”
“It doesn’t make sense at all!”
“If you just think it over, you’ll understand. I wasn’t attacking the Goddess; I was demonstrating my identity to her. She knew I was here and, unwilling to hurt me, thus voluntarily dispersed.”
The banshees and Laisha’s side fall into deep thought; it seems, at least partially, there might be some sense to it.
“Don’t listen to his nonsense; this rascal is quite the deceiver of women!” Seeing the crowd waver, Sukra quickly speaks up.
“Hey, whose side are you on?” Wayne is speechless.
“You, as the Goddess’s Knight, actually attacked the Goddess; you tell me whose side I’m on.” Sukra grinds her teeth.
Wayne nods, pointing to Sukra’s arched rear: “Did you all hear that? She didn’t refute my identity. I am indeed the Goddess’s Knight.”
Is that really the point? xN
“The reason the Goddess fell into slumber is that our arch-enemy Nature launched a surprise attack on Hades. The Goddess, caught off guard, was severely wounded…”
Omilos immediately rebuts: “This is Hades; the Goddess is above all. Even if Nature Goddess were here in person, she couldn’t defeat the Goddess, let alone severely wound her.”
The words were true, but if Death had a hand in it, couldn’t it be part of her plan!
Wayne knows part of the truth but doesn’t lay it all out, nor does he pursue Omilos’s interruption.
The banshee stands three meters tall; it’s still a cold corpse, beyond Wayne’s aesthetic scope. If Sukra or Laisha interrupted, Wayne would definitely make them pay a price.
More precisely, the rule is tailored for this master-disciple pair; they would be the only ones punished for violations.
“True, in the Divine Nation, the Goddess is invincible; Nature couldn’t possibly defeat the Goddess in Hades. But what if there was a collaborator?”
Wayne speaks faintly, with bitterness: “There’s a traitor in Hades; the Goddess is surrounded by Insectoids. The three Subsidiary Gods led Nature into Hades; the Goddess suffered betrayal and was badly damaged into slumber.”
“Impossible!!” Omilos vociferously retorts: “The three Subsidiary Gods are all the Goddess’s trusted confidants, personally selected by her. Each is extraordinarily loyal; it’s impossible they would all betray the Goddess simultaneously.”
Thus, at least one of these Subsidiary Gods is an undercover!
Wayne very much agrees with Omilos’s statement. He has long suspected there was hidden intrigue and, after obtaining part of Aztemo’s thoughts from Idinis, is very sure at least one of the three Subsidiary Gods is an undercover.
The Observer, Doom Spider Grew.
This one has the highest likelihood of being undercover!
After Austin became the Dark Knight, Grew voluntarily gave the Lucky Ancient Silver Coin to Austin, helping him suppress the pain brought by the Twilight Deadlock, with the price being Austin obeying him.
From the moment Austin received the Ancient Silver Coin, Grew gave Austin only one task—to attack the Nature Church District Headquarters in Windsor.
Then he never contacted him again.
The value of the Lucky Ancient Silver Coin far exceeds that of the Nature Church Windsor District. Grew’s actions are nothing but a pretext, with the real aim of sending one of Aztemo’s avatars, Black Cat Monica, to the Mortal World.
