Chapter 1403: Chapter 1403
Wayne had an epiphany and came to a rather shocking conclusion.
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
He shook his head repeatedly. Pride had not become a god, merely the closest to one. The devils wielded the authority over territories, but did not truly own the land. There could only be one explanation.
Hell had always been waiting; the Great Demon God had yet to arrive at his loyal domain!
"Now that makes sense..."
Wayne sighed in relief. He had overthought it earlier. Once calm, there was plenty of evidence to refute the claim that Pride was a deity.
On par with Pride was the Archangel, the humblest among the Seven Virtues, the Seraph, Vice Sovereign Michael of the Kingdom of Heaven, renowned as "Godlike."
Godlike, translated literally, equates to Michael’s strength being comparable to the divine.
If Michael were a Subsidiary God of the Heavenly Father, he would be the most powerful Demigod. Pride would also occupy this position, equals without having lit the Divine Fire.
If Michael were God, Uriel would not qualify to fraternize with him, and Hexuno wouldn’t descend reborn searching for the Saint Heir. Heaven honors Michael supremely, harmonious and unified.
Michael is not God, nor is Pride.
Wayne had seen Pride and would gladly call him that. With Pride’s arrogance, were he a deity, he would’ve long rushed out of Hell, aimed for Heaven, and rubbed Michael against Heaven’s floors.
Having become a god, could he suffer such indignity?
This isn’t arrogance at all.
Stuck in Hell, watching six useless ones baring their teeth, in the end, it’s still due to insufficient strength, helpless against Heaven’s overpower.
Unable to defeat them, and yet not resigned, they can only vent their frustrations on the Saint Heir.
Throwing the Saint Heir into a pile of Succubi, letting the Lord of Lust lead the torment, focusing on the base, lacking any semblance of a Great Demon King’s demeanor.
For those unaware, they might think this is just a Joker.
Those in the know understand; both Pride and Lust were mentally broken by Heaven’s forces.
"Yes, that’s exactly it!"
Wayne nodded repeatedly, looked outside the house, and waved a hand in front, testing out his newly acquired authority. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ Nov3lFɪre.ɴet
Space ripples spread out, and Lilith fell through a water curtain, forcing a smile on her pretty face and politely bowing her head, "Master, is there anything you command?"
Lilith was wearing a long white nun’s robe, changed when leaving Paradise Lost.
The robe had a white base with golden patterns, with crucifix symbols embroidered around the collar and back, covering her entire body precisely, exposing nothing except her face and hands.
However, its form-fitting nature accentuated her curves, making it more alluring the better the body; with Lilith’s voluptuous figure, the allure was maxed out.
This is not a nun’s uniform; it is a nun’s uniform.
Lust knew that once Lilith left, she was destined to no longer belong to him, so he let her dress a bit provocatively for convenience later on.
In Hell, the clergy’s uniforms are the most striking.
In this regard, it coincides with The Pope’s, and Wayne, though silent, silently gave a nod of approval.
"I’ve made a deal with Lust, from now on, you are mine. I paid quite a price to get you."
Wayne did not reveal his identity and said solemnly, "I don’t keep useless beings. Considering the high price I paid to acquire you, it surely won’t be for mere play. Do you understand my meaning?"
Lilith nodded helplessly; she understood that the Demon Bat wouldn’t play around lightly; he would keep playing forever.
"You seem to be thinking something quite rude!"
Wayne stood up, circled around Lilith, raised a hand and pressed it on her shoulder, corrupting her with the Seven Deadly Sins, changing her allegiance from Lust’s Succubus to his Succubus.
This corruption was necessary, otherwise, Lilith would always belong to Lust, akin to Lust having placed a double agent by his side.
After the corruption, it would be different; Wayne wouldn’t do anything to Lilith, and in a way, that granted her freedom.
The transformation process was extremely agonizing, even though Wayne minimized the pain as much as possible, Lilith still felt as if her entire body was pricked by needles.
Her face was bloodless, she stood shakily, with her head drowsy, enduring it to avoid collapsing.
From Lust to Demon Bat, Lilith’s heart didn’t stir much; weak ones can’t control their own fate. She had seen too many bloody examples of this in Hell and was numb to it.
The sole thought fluctuation stemmed from the terrifying battle achievements of the Demon Bat, fearing that after being played, she would be discarded like trash.
"I’ll say it again, do not think rude thoughts. What you saw earlier were illusions. In essence, I have a deep abhorrence for beauty and don’t have any worldly desires," Wayne spoke solemnly, first establishing a leadership persona.
She was neither blind nor deaf.
"Time will tell all..."
Knowing Lilith wouldn’t believe, Wayne did not force her, continuing, "From today, you are the Secretary Officer of this territory, managing it for me. Other than me, no one can order you."
"Work well, and if I have a meal to eat, you’ll have a bowl to wash."
"Master, I will give my all to serve you..."
"Use a different title. Although I am a devil, I yearn for the Mortal World. I remember the devils there had a specific title; what was it again?"
Lilith replied with a serious face; that’s what the Insectoids call someone, can’t be wrong.
"Sir, that’s acceptable."
Wayne’s answer in his mind was ’Boss.’ Capitalists are all devils, and ’Boss’ is not incorrect.
In Lilith’s department, Sir is equivalent to a devil; her answer isn’t wrong either—which is Frank for you, not as good as Windsor but a tie when it comes to mediocrity.
Not betraying a century’s friendship.
"Lilith, from now on, address me as ’Boss.’ While managing the territory, do not neglect your personal cultivation. By this time next year, I want to see a Legendary Mage."
