"Is that not Sarah Bellos?" One of the locals asked as there was murmuring in the hall.

"Can this day get any creepier?" Peter murmured.

"This is the same girl that made Emily, massacre dozens of citizens in Mystic Hollow! She is alive?"

"Justice!"

"We need justice for those that--"

"Silence!" One of the council officials spoke.

"Sarah was not dead after all."

"Who knows if Emily hid her in another town and killed the citizens of Mystic Hollow just because she was bloodthirsty?"

"If only you would just listen! We have a lot to tell" Sarah cried.

"Oh, she talks too!"

"She can talk?"

"She talks!"

"I think it is high time we let the FBI into this town! This is inhumane!"

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" The locals chanted.

"Enough! You never listen. You do not pay attention!" Alex yelled.

"That is why we die. We do not have one voice!" He added.

"The culprit has been caught, and you guys could not stay mute to know who she was! Just listen!" The place went dead silence as Elena spoke.

They listened attentively as she told them about her mother being the killer, but some of the locals would not believe her.

"Shame on you! Shame on you! Shame on you!" The locals yelled at her.

Elena was dumbfounded as she stared at them.

"You do not believe me?" She asked in bewilderment as one of the council officials spoke.

"Elena Gilbert, coming out like this to accuse your mother of a grave crime like this is also an offense, punishable under Mystic Hollow law"

"I know what I am saying. Do you think I would just come out of the blue and accuse my mother of a thing like this?"

"All the sheriff has ever done was to make sure the killer was brought to book. Accusing her of being the killer is a slap to the entire police force" one of the locals said.

"In the police, nothing is impossible, although, I doubt that Sheriff Ruth Gilbert would harm the people she swore to protect. I have watched her all my years as personnel. I do not think she is, this is too shocking. But still, let us give the kids listening ears" Crane spoke.

"We do not want to hear anything from these kids. Do they think this is some sort of kid's play? We know the Mayor has a hand in this, not our beloved Sherriff" another local spoke.

"Can we just wait for the proof? There is proof" Elena said as she beckoned on Laura who started walking to her.

"Yea! We need proof!"

"Show us!"

"Let us see!" The locals chanted.

"Now! Listen" she played the voice record Laura recorded on her phone that lasted for 2 hours, they could not believe their ears.

When the record stopped, the people had had a change of heart and a murmuring erupted.

The council officials did not know what to do at the moment as the meeting was adjourned to three days.

At the meeting, they discussed more the Mayor, Emily, and the Sheriff and they said they would pay them a visit in weeks.

The kids were commended for their job well done and they were referred to as important people of the town.

(A WEEK LATER)

AT THE MAYOR'S HOUSE

The friends sat around a table, Elena walked to the cabinet nearby and took a bottle of champagne. She returned with it Sarah brought the glass cups then Laura served the wine.

They all stood up to cheer as Peter spoke.

"To Sarah!"

"To Sarah," they echoed.

"To friendship" Laura smiled.

"To friendship" they responded.

"To ups and down" Alex smiled.

"And to Mystic Hollow" Elena smiled as they clicked their wine glasses.

"Cheers!" They said and drank from their glass and sat down.

"We were able to rewrite history" Elena smiled.

"Yes, a bit. Not yet. No one knows how the verdict would be like. As long as Sheriff Ruth is still in the hospital, I do not think Mystic Hollow is safe until she is kept behind bars" Sarah expounded.

"That is correct," Peter said.

"Can we just skip the talk about Mystic Hollow and talk about something cheerful? For the past months, we have been dealing with this town. We should give ourselves a break please" Alex said as they agreed.

"Has anyone heard from Chris Liam?" Laura asked as they all glanced at Elena.

When she raised her face to look at them, she saw them staring at her as she bats her lashes.

"What?" She arched her brow at them.

"Come on Elena! Spill" Laura said.

"I do not know what you guys are talking about" she lied and faced down.

"Ok, I am not a fan of that guy, but seriously! Where is he?" Sarah asked as she rolled her eyes?

"Hey! I do not know where he is."

"What happened to him?" Laura asked.

"I do not know. I gave him a knife to help himself out. Whether he left that place alive or not, I do not know"

"Well, where ever he is, I am not sure he would show himself again in Mystic Hollow" Sarah shrugged.

They all stared at her as she gave them all a look.

"What?"

"Why do you think he would not show himself here anymore?" Alex asked.

"Well, if he shows his face here, he would be sentenced to five years imprisonment,"

They arched their brows at her as Elena spoke.

"Why do you think so?"

"According to Mystic Hollow law. He knew about the kidnapping and kept mute. He will also be charged for blackmail"

"Oh, that is right. He knew about the twins but refused to report it or ring a bell" Peter nodded his head.

"Well, if I were him, I sure would not show my face here" he added as they laughed.

"Damn! I miss Bonnie so much! When is she coming back?" Elena spoke?

"Yeah! That is right! The crew is not complete without her" Laura spoke

"I guess I will go bring her back. I miss her a lot too. Especially her talks" they all laughed and agreed that Peter would be the one to bring her back to Mystic Hollow now the town was calm.

5 DAYS INTERVAL

Peter knocked on the door as grandma opened it.

"Oh my! It is one of Laura's friends" she said smiling.

"Hello Grandma," he said with a smile plastered on his face.

"Please forgive an old lady, what is your name again?"

"Oh, it is Peter, Grandma"

"Yes! Peter! Bonnie's boyfriend"

Bonnie ran to the door on hearing this.

"It is my boyfriend!? " Bonnie said excitedly as she hugged Peter who picked her up.

"Wait, you guys are dating?" Edward asked as he walked into the sitting room still carrying Bonnie.

"That is what she thinks, please do not hurt her feelings," he whispered to him and dropped her when they got into the house and grandma closed the door after them.

"I missed you so much! I am glad you came for me" Bonnie said excitedly.

"Yh, me too! I missed you so much!"

"How are you, my child? How are Laura and the other kids?" Grandma asked as he smiled.

Bonnie offered him a mug of coffee which he took and muttered thanks to her.

"Do not drink that!" Edward and Grandma said simultaneously but he had taken a sip already which he puked away immediately.

"Eww! What was that?" He asked cleaning his tongue.

"It is coffee. Grandma is teaching me how to make coffee and I am making progress. Right Edward?" Bonnie asked smiling as Edward blinked his eyes.

"It does not seem you were making progress, can't you see how he just puked it because of its awful taste?" Edward pointed out as Bonnie rolled her eyes at him.

"Maybe I did not use the right recipe"

"Or I guess I will have to add more sugar," she said and walked away with the awful coffee.

"I do not think it is the sugar" Edward tried to tell her but she was gone.

"Peter dear? How are Laura and her friends?" Grandma asked again.

"Laura and the crew are fine. Just that Elena is so busy now. Being a member of the Council after her mom's incident is so tiring for her. And Sarah is also trying too" Peter said.

"Mystic Hollow is now ruled by children? That town is a joke" Edward said shaking his head.

"Not that they are ruling the town, they are just part of the Council until they come of age to take over" Peter corrected.

"Children that brought peace back to the town, peace that the adults took away because of their selfishness. The adults could not take Care of the town and instead of it being peaceful, it was chaotic. Now, let the kids handle it, I believe they would do a better job than their parents who failed in their areas of specialization" Grandma said as Edward batted his lashes at her.

"Yes! That is right. Except that, it is not the kids ruling the town now. They are just adding their contributions to it"

"Wow! Grandma, you have been reading Mystic Hollow news too much" Edward said as she smiled and picked up the newspaper on the table.

And on it was written MYSTIC HOLLOW HEROS 'THE FREAKS'

And their faces were on it, including Bonnie.

"Sure" she smiled.

"I am popular now, I can not wait to sign autographs in school," Bonnie said smiling as she brought another mug of coffee for Peter.

"No thanks. I am good, I think I'll pass " he said as she shrugged, and gave the coffee a weird look.

"How is grandpa Ethan," he asked as grandma dropped the newspaper on the table.

"He is ok. And you know where to find him" she said as he nodded and stood up.

"Should I get you meatloaf?" She asked walking to the fireplace.

"No thanks. I am full" he lied as he walked to grandpa's room.

Bonnie and Peter alighted from the cab at the roadside.

They walked to the Bellos mansion where Sarah and Elena now live in.

"Bonnie!" Alex said as she ran to him.

"I miss you," she said touching his cheek.

"Bonnie!" Laura and Elena raced to her as they hugged her.

"Oh my Gosh. I am a celebrity already" she said giving them hugs.

"Sheriff Elena, I am so proud of you," She said looking at Elena as she smiled.

"I am so sorry I missed you and Sarah's swearing-in and oath-taking"

"Who is feeding you with that news? We are no Sheriff and Mayor. There is just an elect committee till we come of age I guess"

" And speaking of that, where is Sarah? Where the hell is she? I heard she talks now!" Bonnie said excitedly as Sarah who was standing next to her tapped her on the shoulder.

"Oh! Here you are! You were so tiny that I could not notice you" Bonnie said smiling as she held her hands.

"Mayoress Sarah. Can you please say Hello? I wanna hear your voice" Bonnie said as everyone laughed.

"Uhmm, Hello?" Sarah said.

"That is the spirit girl!" Bonnie said making everyone giggle.

"AND I am not the Mayoress" she added.

"Yet" Bonnie corrected. "So, who is the elder amongst the twins?' She asked searching their faces.

"We do not know!" Sarah said as they all laughed.

"I have missed this team. Let us say cheese!!!" Laura said as they all gathered and took a group photo.

"Hey, Laura! Over here!" Laura was surprised as she followed her to a corner while the rest carried on with what they were doing.

"What is it?" Laura was scared that she might have something weird or scary to say.

"I want to ask you a question. And I need nothing but the truth. Am I understood?" Laura shrugged and nodded, wondering what the little girl was up to.

"Can I trust you?" Laura was no longer finding it funny as she stood up from her bending position and arched her brow at her.

"Ok, Bonnie, I am beginning to get scared. What is the matter?"

"It is about Peter"

"Ok... So, what happened to him?"

"Hey! Bring your voice down" she said as Laura shrugged and listen.

"Has he been seeing Sophia while I was away? I am scared they might get back together"

Laura could not believe her ears as she stared at the little girl. She was not supposed to be surprised by Bonnie's attitude, but no matter what happens, she was always taken aback.

"Well, no. They stopped seeing each other long ago and I think they are not in talking terms"

"Oh, that is better" with that, she smiled and was about to walk away but stood and turned to face Laura.

"Do you have any idea why your grandpa keeps calling me Charlotte? I have corrected the old man severally that I am Bonnie, but, he would not listen"

"Oh, no I do not" she lied as Bonnie gave her a long stare and shrugged. With that, she left as Laura stood there, watching her leave.
