Chapter 44: Chapter 44
*Laura Pnt Of View*
"What do you mean by that?" I asked as I shifted back.
"I love you, okay?" That was not bad at all! I'm been sarcastic. Why does everyone love me? Why am I complaining.
"I'm sorry but I don't feel the same way," I said calmly, thinking he would understand.
"I didn't ask you! I just want you to know," he said. "If we get married, I will help you out of here."
"I'll find another way," I said and he smirked. "There's no other alternative and you have no choice." he stated as he slowly walked towards me.
I shifted back, back and back till I was corned by a headboard. He leaned slowly towards me, his target my lips but we were fortunately interrupted by his father.
"What's going on here?" His voice echoed in the room and Cody straightened up.
"I was just telling her about my mother. Since she is going to be my step mom, I...." He croaked.
Liar!
Pretender!
"I see and how did she take it," his father asked and Cody shrugged.
"The usually," Cody stated as he stared back at me. Giving me a 'don't talk' look that I turned away.
"I like that about her," His father winked and I gulped in disgust.
"I would be having my nap now. Don't make a noise," His father stated and just like he came, he was gone.
"That was close," Cody breathed out and I rolled my eyes.
"You two are no difference. You are a liar and pretender. I can't believe that I didn't see it before" I spat out.
"Don't tell me that you haven't pretended or lied in you life," He pointed out and I kept mute.
"I thought so!" He snarled and I turned away. "Now where was I?" He furrowed his brows while stroking his chin.
"Yeah! I will help you escape if you agree to date me," he stated.
"I thought you said married?" I asked.
"Do you want me to change it?" He asked and I ignored him.
"I took you as my friend, a good friend and this is what I get. I'm so stupid," I mentally face palmed myself.
"You didn't do anything wrong. I just don't want us to be just friends, let's be something more," he smirked as he stepped closer.
"You are crazy," I blurted and he frowned, stopping on his track.
"I'll show you what crazy means!" He smirked and jumped on the bed.
"What are you doing?" I panicked when he started removing his belt. "What I should have done a long time ago," he answered and I gulped. Was he going to whip me?
"I'm going to be with you Laura."
"I already got the hint from what you are doing and I won't let you do it," I blurted.
"I wasn't asking," and just like that he pounced on me. I didn't know what he was doing, I didn't want him to have his way. I punched and kicked him. I kept struggling and shifting away till my hands caught something, it was a flower vase.
What else happened? Yeah! I smashed it on his head and he stopped moving. Blood gushed out of his head and I panicked. I took off, out of the room and down the stairs. I got into the living room and got confused. Two doors were before me, I didn't know where to go. I hurriedly pushed open a door and luckily it was the right one. The wind collided with my face as I continued running. There's no time for resting. I sighted someone afar and I started screaming.
"Help! Help! Hel--" unfortunately, my third scream was muffled into the hands of....my kidnapper. He dragged me into a corner as I tried to pry off his hands. I thought I was free for a second there.
"You are in big trouble now," he whispered in the most intimidating voice I heard and I knew that I was really dead!
He dragged me back into the house, to the room I was. Cody's body was still surrounded with blood but the only difference was that he was now awake and he had this cold stare.
"I need to take care of that wound, let's go," he spoke up and Cody nodded slowly. He forgot that he had a cut on his head.
"You! I was trying to be nice but it seems like you don't want that!" He snarled.
"The day after tomorrow we are getting married," he left. Wow! I was speechless but not numb or frozen. I knew what I had to do. I wasn't going to get married to him, never!
