Chapter 21: Chapter 21
*Laura Pov*
The driver parked the car and I walked out of the car to be slammed into a hug by Katherine.
"I can't breathe," I whispered, but loud enough for she to hear me.
"I'm sorry, I just missed you. Luke and Anne have been together for the whole day and Sandra has been in her room since you left, so I got no one to play with," She pouted, I chuckled at her statement.
"You can let me go now," I blurted, and she pulled away from me and mouthed a sorry.
"Go freshen up and meet me in the garden," She grinned, I nodded and made my way inside.
"Laura," Luke yelled in excitement as he ran to hug me but I was fast. I shifted swiftly and he frowned.
"Don't be so fast," He smiled and I rolled my eyes.
"Come give me a hug," He said with his hands wide open. I scoffed, thinking of how jealous Anne would feel but suddenly remembered about our talk.
"I need to take a bath," I complained, a stern look from him shut me up and I sluggishly dragged myself into his arms.
He patted my back and just his warmth make me feel at ease.
We just met yesterday but he's acting like my elder brother that I never had and for a change there, I like it.
He pulled from the hug and smiled at me, "Now go take a shower you smell," He frowned and I sent him deadly glares, the most deadliest.
He laughed at my reaction as I made my way to my room.
I am both shocked and relieved that I didn't forget the way to my room.
I walked in and was shocked because of what I saw. Grinning Sandra stood up from my bed and walked towards me.
She pulled me into a hug and tightly wrapped her hands on me. She sighed and said, "I know that it was just a few hours that you were gone but I missed you," She pulled from the hug and I started breathing heavily.
"Sorry about that," She laughed and I smiled.
"It's okay," I said.
Just a day that I've know them, and they are already acting like my overprotective siblings and it's fun.
"You have two hours to yourself, after that come and meet me downstairs, understood?" She asked bossily.
She reminds me of Madison and I just can't believe am saying this but I miss them, a lot.
They were my first friends, I mean first sisters-friends.
Does that make any sense to you at all?
Oh well!
"Don't forget, two hours," Sandra rang in my head, I snapped out of my thoughts as she walked out of my room.
I sighed, carefully dropped my bag, locked the door, got undressed and ran into the bathroom for a cold relaxing shower.
After a brief shower, I dried my hair and put on some clothes and jumped on my bed, brought out my note books to study and to also do my assignments if any.
I know Katherine is probably waiting for me but I can't leave my books hanging and I can't leave Katherine hanging too.
I just have forty minutes and an hour to go.
I finished with my assignments, tucked my books neatly into my bag, grabbed my phone and walked out of the room.
"How long does it take you to take a shower," Katherine snapped at me as I walked towards her.
"Twenty minutes," I shrugged.
"Just come sit here with me," She patted a soft spot beside her and just like that I obeyed and sat down.
She sighed and smiled as she gazed around, "Isn't it beautiful and quiet," She said and I nodded, "It is"
With beautiful colours of flowers surrounding the environment and an unusual sense of quietness.
I shouldn't jump into conclusions, maybe it's always quiet here, or maybe not.
"It's too quiet for my liking I want some noise!!" Luke voice echoed, his yelling made me flinch. I almost had a heart attack and I can say the same thing for Katherine.
"Do you always have to be a crook!" Katherine yelled, her British accent making her statement a little bit funny.
"You always misuse words Kat, I think a crook is someone who does illegal things, do I look like I do illegal things," He stated with a smug look on his face, Katherine rolled her eyes and I giggled.
"I hate you," Katherine hissed under her gritting teeths.
I laughed, they both act like twins but I know they aren't.
Bummer!!
We spent the next hour together, laughing over Luke's jokes and Kate's supposed flaws.
I didn't know when my time was up, because for me it seemed like a few minutes, "Laura, time's up" I heard, I slowly turned knowing exactly who it was.
"Sandra, it's great to see you," I smiled, thinking of a way of beg her for more time.
"No time for this, let's go," she stated and I nodded, having no say in the matter.
"Be easy on her," Luke said as we walked inside.
Why did he say that?
Are we going to train or something.
It's just a few chores.
"Let's start with the laundry, please go up to the princess room and collect hers," She ordered, I nodded and walked towards the stairs. I should have asked her where the room was. I'm so dumb sometimes.
"It's the third room on your left, incase you still mix it up, a star is drawn on the door of the room" she stated, it was just like she read my mind. So cool!
"Thanks," I smiled and walked upstairs. I turned to my left, and instantly got confused. There were also rooms on the right hand of the left wing.
What am I even saying?
After the staircase, to your left there are multiple doors facing each other and that got me confused.
Like I said, I am so dumb.
I sighed and turned back to ask Sandra but yet again she said, a star is drawn on the door of the room.
I looked around and caught sight of the star, thank goodness!
But yet again, it is the third day, if I count them, it'll fall on this door as the third and if it wasn't the right room, I would have to turn to my right to find the other door facing it.
Oh Laura, you are so dumb sometimes but you just redeemed yourself.
I shook it off and knocked softly on the door.
"Come in," Her voice boomed, her accent so sweet that it sounded like music.
I turned the knob and entered into the room. She was laying on her bed, her legs swinging from side to side.
It looked like she was....drawing?
I didn't know princesses draw. I didn't know she draws. Well, come to think of it, I don't know her that well.
Her room was sparkling pink, the walls filled with paintings and drawings that I think she drew.
A pink ball chair was kept at the center of her room.
The right side of her room had a window like wall, I think it can be slides open.
It's so fancy!
The curtains and beddings are pink. This is the only room that I've gone to that has only one colour.
"Nice drawings!" I exclaimed, she flinched and stood up from her bed.
"Oh, it's you, you scared the hell ou... I mean I you startled me," She smiled and I nodded a little confused.
"Thanks by the way," She added.
"Did you draw all these by yourself?" I asked, hoping to start a conversation.
"Yeah, I did," She smiled.
"I didn't know that you draw," I stated and she sighed.
"Um, my laundry is right there," She pointed, trying to ignore my statement.
"Shot! I forgot to bring a laundry basket," I muttered.
"Don't worry, I have mine, it's right there," She pointed and I nodded, went over to carry her clothes and the basket and made my way to the door.
"I'm sorry for the way I acted towards you yesterday," She stated, I froze and turned.
Did she just apologize?
"It was wrong for me to talk to you like that, I'm sorry," she said as she sat down at the edge of her king sized bed.
"There's nothing to be sorry about," I shrugged.
"You don't get it do you! I'm a princess, I'm taught to be polite, brought up with diligency and humility," She sighed.
"Having servants in my disposal, if I want some eggs, I'll ring the bell and the maid comes running in, she serves them on a silver tray and brings a cookie tin and while i eat she rubs my feet and strolling minstrels play, but I'd rather be in the artistdom but mother never lets me," she said sadly.
"That's nice having maids at your fingertips but why does she do that?" I asked, referring to her mother.
"She never listens to me, she's always bent on her own rules, wants and needs not minding what I want or need," she said.
"Oh," Was all I could muster.
"I never agreed to the marriage to, she did that without asking for my consent or opinion," She stated.
"I spend hours learning about poise and stuffs but never art, she never let's me go to the artistdom, she just wants to ruin my life," Now she sounds like Luke.
"She never let's me go out my that much, I just often go to dinner parties, balls and grand ceremonies, my hands aching from piano lessons, headaches from frequent hair styling, toes paining from wearing long heels and dancing all day, body itching from wearing long hot dresses. But never have I been allowed to paint or draw, painting could have been included in my schedule but my mom knows that I crave for it, so she wouldn't let me paint not to talk of draw," She said and I nodded unable to say a word.
"I have been restricted my whole life but when I came here, everything changed, no schedules, am free, I can draw, paint as much as I like," She smiled.
"I finally have the feeling of having friends that I want not friends that I'm forced to have. You see, princesses are suppose to be flawless but how can I be that when I'm...."
"Human!" I interrupted, smiling sheepishly at her.
"Yeah," She smiled, "Thats why I behave stupidly before, am not used to this," She stated.
"As I far as I know, princesses are suppose to be honoured so that's what's going to happen right now, am sorry your highness but I have to take care of your laundry now," I smiled, bowing a little and she giggled.
She's now looking livelier!
"Please call me, Anne," she smiled and I nodded.
"So Anne, can you please teach me how to speak like you?" I asked hopefully.
"Sure will," She nodded and I smiled.
"Be seeing you," I smiled as I walked out of the room.
I guess everyone have something troubling them in there life, even a princess!
