Chapter 80: Chapter 80
Author's POV
"Mrs. Wel, Did Angela inform you where she's going? I didn't see her in the house!" Eric looked at the old maid and asked her.
He completed office tasks early and purchased a roses bouquet for Angela in a passing way. He wanted to see her happy face and drive fast for that.
But as soon as he got back home, he didn't find her anywhere which made him a little surprised.
Angela never leaves home without him texting or calling.
But he shook his belief and thought to ask housemaids. What if she goes outside informing the maid.
But the maid's words made him doubt.
"Sir, Madam didn't say anything before leaving." Mrs.Wel answered, While his face frowned and he added another question.
"Can you tell how long she's been out?" He inquired.
"Yes sir, I saw madam going out in the afternoon." Mrs.Wel answered immediately.
"Afternoon?" His eyes turned cautious.
"Yes, Sir! After she ate her lunch, she just went out!" Mrs.Wel reported.
Where could Angela go, it's already seven o'clock in the evening? He looked at his wristwatch and thought.
Mrs.Wel saw his worried expression and said with a concerned tone, "Sir, Why don't you try to call madam? What if she goes to check on her parents or yours?"
Eric suddenly thought about that and looked at the maid while nodding his head.
"Yes, It can be! I'll check!" Eric responds with a slight smile.
Mrs.Wel responded with a nod.
"Mrs.Wel, you can go now!" He declared.
Mrs.Wel showed a small smile and then left to do her hanging work.
Eric pulled out his phone from his suit pocket and scrolled the screen to see Angela's number on the first in the call list.
He immediately pressed the green button and phoned her but a few minutes passed and the call didn't connect.
He tried again and again but it was out of the area. He didn't stop and tried a few more times and finally, he heard a ring sound from another side.
He felt relieved and waited for her to pick up the call.
But no matter how many times he dialed the number or the phone rang. Angela didn't pick up his phone.
With every passing second, he started to feel anxious. He doesn't want to think negatively but the kidnapping incident made him insecure. Even the thought of another excuse for why the phone is not connecting or why she's not picking up. Not made up his mind at all.
He tried to call Angela's mom at the landline number which was picked up by the maid.
"Hello!"
"Hello, I want to speak to mom!" He immediately talked.
"Sir, Madam went with Sir (Angela's dad) to a friend's birthday party in the evening."
Hearing her, Eric's face darkened.
"Did Angela madam come to the home?" He questioned.
"No, Angela madam didn't come here!" Maid answered.
He greeted his teeth with frustration.
"Alright!" He disconnects the call and dialed his parent's number.
"Hello, Son!"
"Mom, Is Angela with you?" He immediately asked.
"No, son! She didn't come here!" Mrs.Brooks responded.
"Alright!" He sighed while he pressed his temple with frustration and anxiety.
"Son, what happened? Is Angela missing?" Mrs. Brooks's voice filled with concern.
Eric doesn't want his mother to be worried so he lies.
"No mom! She went to meet Ella and told me she will go home also. That's why I asked!"
"Ohh, dear! She would be busy with her friend. Let her enjoy herself and don't disturb her. After the kidnapping incident, she needs a change!" Mrs.Brooks explained.
But Eric's mind filled with tension.
"Alright, mom! Now I need to go! I'll come home this weekend!"
"Okay, son!" As she responded, Eric disconnected the call and tried Ella's number.
After ringing almost a third time, Ella picks up the call. But before he could speak. Ella said hurriedly.
"Erish, I'm at an urgent conference meeting! Let's talk later!"
Eric got his answer while she cut the call the next moment.
She's not with family or friends. So, where could she be? He shouted with frustration because of distress.
His mind now only can think about Ayesha. So, be sure, she's in prison. He called the police officer.
He informed him that she is still in the prison and sent to another city prison the next morning.
Eric nodded while his forehead deepened.
"Alright officer! Let me know after she checks out from there!" He instructed.
"Alright!"
Eric wanted to cut the call but the officer suddenly asked.
"Mr.Brook! Is everything alright?"
"Yes! Everything is good! I'm just asking to be assured!"
"Alright! If that is the case!" Officer said while Eric finally cut the call.
He didn't tell him about Angela because he doesn't think Ayesha is behind Angela's disappearance.
She should be somewhere.
"Where could she go?" He felt helpless.
He tried to call her and text her but there was no response. Eventually, her phone turned the switch off.
His face lost its calmness with each second and finally, he made up his mind to search for her in every place where she loves to go or can be.
He gets in the car and starts searching for her like a madman everywhere. It turned out to be midnight. But she's not anywhere. His heart tensed.
After searching everywhere there was only the beachside left to see. So he drove there and stopped at the beachside.
He immediately gets out of the car and starts looking for her everywhere.
Shouting her name, he starts walking along the beach.
"Angela!"
"Angela!"
The more he walks, the louder and heavy his voice becomes.
But still, the seashore makes his voice sound low to hear by far as the seashore is powerful.
"Angela!" He started huffing while his legs almost tripped with many stones.
He started to lose hope as he couldn't find her anywhere.
"Angela! Where did you go?" He weakly whispered between his heavy breaths!
Now, he can only go to the cops and get help to find her. He clenched his hand while his heart tightened.
Why is this happening again? He felt like a loser who couldn't keep her safe.
