Chapter 130: Chapter 130
Author's POV
"Aunt, you come early in the morning?" Angela asked to see Mrs.Brooks, as soon as she came out of Eric's room.
"Yeah, actually, I wanted to see Eric and you too."
"Me?" Angela's face turned confused.
"Yeah, As I know, you should feel tired staying here for a long time. I just came to help you to rest." Mrs.Brooks smiled weakly.
"Aunt, I'm fine. You don't need to come too early. It will affect your health. I'm just alright and there is nothing wrong with my rest." Angela clarified.
"Still, I want to do that…and I also bring breakfast for you." Mrs.Brooks showed the tiffin in her hand.
Angela couldn't help but smile warmly.
"Thank you, Aunt."
Mrs.Brooks nodded and replied, "let's first eat breakfast together, and then you can go home for a little rest."
"But I…"
"Angela, I know, you want to stay and I know you are still blaming yourself for the accident but it's not true, we all know, so please stop blaming yourself."
Angela felt touched to hear her words while her eyes turned a little reddish before she finally agreed with her.
"Alright, as you say." Angela's response made Mrs.Brooks satisfied and she nodded with a warm smile.
"Good!"
"Now let's go to the canteen. We can eat there."
Angela agreed with her and both women went to the canteen.
.
.
"Do you like the food?" Mrs.Brooks asked as soon as they finished their breakfast and came out to go back to Eric's ward.
"Yes, Aunt. It's good." Angela responded while walking.
When they both went in front of the ward, they saw Mrs.Brown already waiting for them outside on the couch with a tiffin bag in her hand.
"Mom." Angela went toward her mom.
"Angela." Mrs.Brown gave a warm smile to see her daughter.
"Mom, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"I just made breakfast for you. So, I just came to meet you and sent this tiffin …"
Later, Angela noticed the tiffin in her hand and then looked at her with a small smile.
"Mom, Aunt already came with the meal and we both just came after eating that." Mrs.Brown nodded and looked at Mrs.Brooks with an awkward smile.
Mrs.Brooks also flashed a small smile hesitantly.
Angela saw their interaction and felt a little bitter. As both women are special to her. But things complicated the beautiful relationship between the two families.
"Angela, are you going to stay?" Mrs.Brown asked.
"Mom…I…"
Before Angela could answer, Mrs.Brooks, answered before her, "No, she will go home with you and take a rest.
Angela looked at Mrs.Brooks and sighed as she knew she can't argue with her. She turned back to see her mom and responded," Yes, mom! I'm coming with you."
Mrs.Brown nodded and gladly said," It's good! You also need rest…"
Angela nodded with a warm smile.
"Angela, you should go now with your mom. I'll watch Eric."
"Alright, Aunt!" Angela understands and is ready to leave the hospital with her mom.
But as soon as she turned to leave the corridor with her Mom, the nurse came out of Eric's room and stood in front of Mrs.Brooks.
"Mam, your son opened his eyes!" The nurse's announcement made Mrs.Brooks shocked while Angela and Mrs.Brown also turned to hear the nurse's words.
"W-What did…you said?" Mrs.Brooks couldn't help but ask again.
While Angela walked to the nurse.
"Sister, what did you say?"
"I'm telling you, your son…" The nurse moved her eyes to Mrs.Brooks and then to Angela," And your husband finally opened his eyes."
Mrs. Brooks's eyes got wet while she moved in Eric Ward's direction immediately.
Angela stood there and closed her eyes with big relief at this moment, while tears fell from her cheeks.
"I'm going to inform the doctor!" The nurse declared and rushed towards the doctor's cabin.
"Angela…" Her mother touched her shoulder.
Angela immediately hugged her mother and cried out, "Mom! He woke up…" she sobbed, turning harder.
"Yeah, I heard…" She also sobbed with her daughter.
.
.
.
"Eric! My son!" Mrs.Brooks red eyes filled with emotion to see his son staring at her from lying on the bed.
She rushed and kissed his hand.
"Mom…" Eric tried to talk but because of the oxygen mask, he couldn't say clearly.
"I'm glad you are finally awake. Do you know how scared we are to hear the news of the accident?" Mrs.Brooks cried out with deep sentiment.
Eric's eyes got tears and he wrapped his palm around her mother's palm to make sure he is alright now.
Mrs.Brooks smiled warmly and wiped her tears. I need to call your dad. She immediately dialed the number in front of him while announcing that Eric's regaining his senses.
Eric saw his mother with a tender eye while his eyes went toward the door but he didn't see Angela coming at all which made him a little upset.
Mrs.Brooks watched him look at the door and realized what he was waiting for.
"Eric, baby you just opened your eyes. Don't think too much and relax for now. I know what you are waiting for but please don't let yourself get pressured to think about all this."
Eric silently nodded to his mother while Mrs. Brooks creased his forehead tenderly.
"Angela, are you not going to meet him?" Mrs.Brown asked to see her daughter still didn't take steps toward the door.
Angela never thought her mom was going to say that. She thought they didn't want her to be attached to Eric after he woke up.
"Mom…" She gazed at her mom with questioning eyes.
Mrs. Brown caressed her cheek while continuing her words.
"Dear, I know you love him. If there is no love, how could you stay here day and night even after what he and his family did to you!"
Angela's lips pressed tightly.
"I always knew, It's not only for the responsibility you are here, but It's also for love, which doesn't let you stay away from him when he needs you most." Angela's eyelashes flickered.
"Now, go and meet him!" Mrs.Brown gave a small smile.
Angela wanted to flee at this moment to meet him and see him. And she immediately turned and went to the door to open it lightly to peek at Eric and Mrs.Brown who were just beside him creasing his son's head lovingly.
Angela looked at Eric's figure with deep eyes before she closed the door and didn't go inside.
Mrs.Brown saw it and felt confused.
Angela comes toward her mom.
"What happened? Why don't you go there?" Her mom asked.
"Mom…I don't know if meeting him now is right or not."
"What do you mean?"
"I-I don't know, but I'm still not ready to face him." Mrs.Brown sighed.
"Alright, then let's go!" Angela nodded.
"Angela!" Suddenly, Mrs.Brooks comes out and finds her leaving.
Angela turned to see her.
While Mrs.Brooks immediately rushed to hold her hands and asked," Angela are you not going to meet Eric?"
Angela felt chaos at this moment but finally responded," Aunt, he is now fine, so there is no more need to stay…"
Mrs.Brooks wanted to make her stay but she didn't want to burden her more. She hugged Angela next later and mumbled, "Alright, I'll not go to make you stay without your permission anymore. Thank you for everything you have done until now for Eric." Her eyes got tears at this moment. Angela also couldn't help but get tears back.
"Now, we should leave." Mrs.Brown speaks out.
Angela and Mrs.Brooks broke the hug.
"Bye Aunt..."
"Bye… dear…"
Angela turned to leave with her mom while Mrs. Brooks felt so much pain to see her go. But she knew, now it's time to let her go.
