Chapter 120: Chapter 120
Author's POV
"Doctor, how is he now?" Angela's tears dried on her cheeks while she looked at the doctor with hope and at the same time she was scared to listen to terrible news.
The doctor saw her messy bloody clothes, her hand and legs were slightly injured and blood turned dried around her wounds.
He sighed, feeling sad for her, and reported in a serious tone, "Miss, the patient has lost so much blood coming here and he got a deep wound on his head which we need to do the surgery as soon as fast to close the wounded area completely."
"For now, we control the bleeding but internal bleeding is still needed to stop."
"Moreover, there is a fracture on his left leg while his left hand's bone and shoulder's bone are displaced from their places. His right side body is fine but his other side got deeply wounded. If we don't do the surgery at the right time. The patient's health could be critical and his body could be the disabled left side. Moreover, we can't confirm his chances of survival!"
Angela's face turned pale to hear this news. While her steps moved backward to feel disbelief hearing the doctor's words. She felt someone stab a knife in her chest and she was struggling to breathe.
"Doc…Doctor…wh-what you mean he can't survive?" Her voice was completely broken at this moment.
"Miss, if you sign the surgery confirmation document now, we will proceed with the surgery on him but we can't guarantee anything! You need to be ready to hear whatever the result is!"
"What is the percentage of surgery success?" Angela wiped the tears and looked at the doctor with fixed stares.
"There is a 30% chance of success! So, please think faster and sign the procedure document. By the way are you…?"
"His wife…" She responded in a light tone.
Doctor nodded.
"I'll send the nurse with the documents. Please sign it fastly! If you want to save your husband. Because with passing time the percentage rate is going to decrease and he will get in danger."
After explaining everything, the doctor went back to his duty.
Angela looked at the emergency room with sadness. She sat on the floor in absence of mind, without caring about her surroundings, while tears again took place on her cheeks.
"Mam, are you alright?" Suddenly, one nurse rushed toward her and helped her to move from the floor to sit on the couch which was placed in the corner.
Angela looked at the nurse and she noticed she got some paper in her hands.
"Is this the paper I need to sign up for surgery?" Her voice is too weak.
The nurse nodded.
"Yes, you are right."
"Please sign the paper. The doctor informed me that you are the wife of the patient." The nurse moved the paper in front of her while she pulled out the pen from her skirt pocket.
Angela silently looked at the paper as her heart clenched forward her trembling hands to hold the papers and pen.
"Please sign it faster, if you want a doctor to start the surgery procedure." The nurse's words made Angela move faster. She immediately signed her complete name 'Angela Brooks' and gave the paperback to the nurse with a pen.
"Thank you, Mom. Now just pray to God!" The nurse left with papers while Angela's head looked down to the ground with heavinesses.

"We are going to start the surgery soon." The doctor informed Angela.
"Doctor, can I see him for a moment!" Angela's eyes rimmed red while her voice wiggled.
The doctor wanted to deny it but Angela whispered 'please' again and finally, he nodded.
"Alright! But for a minute."
Angela agreed and thanked him.
She went to the ward and looked at Eric's covering with all the medical machines around while he got an oxygen mask to breathe.
She went closer and looked at his pale face which had some scratches on it. If he didn't get the oxygen mask. Anyone thought he was lying on the bed lifeless. Seeing him like this, she felt someone put thousands of needles on her chest. Seeing his condition, her heart held for a second.
Her hand slowly went to hold his hand which was resting on the bed without any movement on it. And soon when her palm touched his hand, she could feel the coldness around her palm. The warmth was gone from his hand which she wanted to find at this moment.
"Eric…" She whispered his name with great pain which she was sensing right now to see him lifeless like this in front of her.
"Please don't leave…" Her fingers folded around his hand. While her eyes never left his face.
"Mam! You need to leave now! We need to start the surgery!" One of the nurses entered the ward and informed Angela.
Angela wiped her tears and looked at Eric last time with pain and finally released her hand to let his hand rest again at the bedside.
She walked outside with a feeble heart. While the doctor, nurse, and ward boys take Eric to the operation theater.
Angela with a heavy heart followed them and stood outside the operation theater while doctors and nurses entered inside.
Half an hour later
Suddenly, the operation theater door opens, and one nurse comes out in panic, toward Angela.
"Miss, your husband needs blood urgently and we don't have his matched blood in our blood store. Can you arrange it or call someone from the family like his parents or siblings to come here."
Angela felt tense and immediately said," Yes, I'll call his parents but please don't let him get into danger! I'll call them immediately!"
"We are already here Angela…" Suddenly, Hearing Mr. Brooks's voice coming from behind her, she turned to see him.
She saw both Mr. And Mrs.Brooks come together while they both looked panicked and got tears in their eyes.
"Uncle-Aunt!"
"How did you both come here?" She asked in a heavy voice.
"The driver and guard told us about Eric's accident and we rushed here immediately!"
"Angela, how is my son?" Mr. Brook asked after explaining his sudden arrival.
"Uncle…" Angela's eyes got tears.
Mrs.Brooks came towards her and held her hands and asked sobbing," Answer Angela! How is Eric? Did he get so many injuries?"
Mrs. Brooks' voice turned panicked.
Angela struggled to tell them the truth and tried to find the word to say something but before that nurse talked to them.
"See, Sir and Mam, patient health is too critical right now and we need urgent blood for him, So, any of you whose blood matches with your son. Please immediately come with me to donate blood."
Hearing her, Mr.and Mrs.Brooks, both of them tensed. While Angela felt her soul getting caught in this moment.
"No! sister! Don't say that! I got the same blood! Please take mine as much as you want but just bring my son alive!"
Mr.Brooks pressed both of his hands together and quivered completely in panic. Mrs.Brooks also shed tears, nonstop, and said in a pleading tone, "Yes Sister, please save our son!"
"We can't live without him!"
