Chapter 8: Chapter 8

Russell POV

I opened my eyes and closed them immediately because of the bright light that came in through my window. I turned around and sat up. It was seven in the morning and I was supposed to meet my dad to talk to him today.

I quickly got up from bed and saw the cup of water the maid brought, it was still untouched which made me wonder how I happened to fall asleep last night.

I could not see the bottle of white wine I took last night, but I know I drank some alcohol, I can't remember what happened last night, I don't like drinking, I hate drinking for what it does to me.

I rub my head softly and walk into the bathroom, I turn on the shower and stood on it for a long time, still trying to remember what I did last night, I knew I was angry since she told me she was sorry, I knew I told her to get me a glass of water, but what I did and say after then was what I can't remember.

I decided to stop trying to remember, for it all meant nothing since I don't remember, I won't ever take alcohol again too. I have to see my dad before he leaves for the company.

A few minutes later I put on a blue jean and back top, did a little touch to my hair and walked over to my father's study room, when I got in he was already ready to leave. "Good morning dad." I am very respectful to my dad even though I act like some asshole at times.

"Yes son, you slept in." He finished gathering his things and faced me with his hands on his briefcase.

"I was really tired." I touch my hair softly. I normally wake up before six in the morning, but because of the alcohol I drank I lost control of myself.

"Was it because of the date?" He asked with a big smile on his face, damn it, my dad never ceases to amaze me.

I sank into one of the chairs in the large study room, just like myself, my dad loves spacious rooms. "One major reason." I lied.

"How did it go?" He asked, sitting down on the chair next to me, I was sure what he would love to hear.

"Well...it was kind of okay...she is pretty and you know, nice too..."

"So do you like her?"

I knew that was what he was curious about. I leaned back to the chair, lifting my hands to my chin like I was contemplating, and he fell for it, but to disappoint him, I shook my head. "No, I don’t." He raised his brow to look at me. "I am only trying to learn through her," I said honestly, who cares about feelings these days.

"You're a spoiled brat." He said with a small laugh, and I wondered why it took him too long to notice. "You have to start planning to like her because I do want her for you."

"No, dad." I shook my head, no one will decide who I love for me, and for all I know I am not ready to love, nor will I even want to.

"Son..."

"Let's see how things go between us," I told him immediately. I was not ready for his words about emotions and feelings again.

"Should I set a date for you and her today?"

"Oh come on dad!" I rolled my eyes. "Give it a break, we met yesterday." My dad can be a pushover sometimes but I won't let him do that to me. "Let me rest today and next..."

"Son.."

"You're running late," I told him, pointing at my wristwatch.

"Oh, I almost forgot." He got up from his chair and picked up his briefcase to leave. I got up too, glad that this was all over. "Least I forget." He turned around at the door. "How is your new music coming up?"

I closed my eyes as I remembered that our maid had my music note. I open my eyes and smile at my dad. "It's going okay," I told him with a smile, a total face smile.

"I would like to see how far you have gone by next week." I nodded and he left the house, I watched him drive off and turn around as my eyes darkened, that maid will get it hot from me today.

I went inside, in search of her, I checked in the kitchen where I knew she might be and I saw her hide behind the pillar, and it made me wonder why she was hiding from me.

I run my hands through my hair, what else can make the guilt hide. "Hey! You are hiding there because you haven't completed the note right?" I put my hands into my pocket, she was still hiding behind the pillar and it was annoying me.

"Come out of this instance before you get me more provoked!" I shouted and she gently stepped out with her eyes on her feet like she always does. How far have you gone?" I asked her softly this time because she looks just like a small child.

"Not much." She said softly. "I am confused since I have not handled such a script and most of them got soaked and erased, I hardly see them." She said softly.

"Do you understand?" I have been saying something but her eyes were down like she was lost in thought or something. "Hey!" I called out but still no response. "Are you listening to me?"

"Huh!" She looked up and I scoffed. "What?" She asked and I got so angry, I have been talking to myself all this while.

"Are you deaf or crazy?" I shouted and she shuddered, the effect I wanted to see in her.

"I am so..." I immediately covered her mouth with my hands as she stopped what she was about to say, she looked up at me with big eyes and I wondered what she was thinking.

"Don't say that word." I looked into her eyes that were crystal clear, her eyes were filled with words that even I can't interpret. I immediately left her lips and stepped backwards. "Just come with my note to the sitting room," I told her and walked away.
