Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Russell POV

A month later, my father came back from his business trip. He had succeeded in clearing the misunderstanding that arose in the entertainment industry in Japan. He had also convinced a few directors that my next song would be the best.

I have a way of starting up a mess and have my father clear it for me. I shouldn't always be the busy one. Well, celebrities just happen to always stir things up to become more popular, and I was on many headlines recently.

I walked over to the garden where my dad stood, staring at the lovely bloom of flowers. It was spring and everything seemed to shine, and it was a really beautiful sight to see.

There was a light breeze running through our faces, I looked at my father and he seems so relaxed and in his world here, he was old, but now he looked like a man a lady can still look upon, and I was a photocopy of him, he was so handsome, but he decided to hide his charms, all I could do with mine was attract more fans.

"How was your journey?" I asked as I lifted a glass of wine from the table next to him, I smiled before lifting the glass to my lips, I knew Malinda was the one who served him this.

"It was great." My dad looked at me with a broad smile on his face, I already knew why he was happy, he had achieved what he went for, he loves money a lot and won't want anything that will make him lose some millions.

I sometimes wonder why he makes so much money, but doesn't spend much. I shook that thought off. If he wasn't ready to spend his money then I would always be here to help him do that. A family must always have a good balance in an equation, one must be different from the other and make use of what the other one doesn't.

"I hope your new song is progressing?" He raised the corner of his brow, waiting for my positive response.

I put my glass down and beam as I uttered. "Yes, I even sang a hit while you were away, dad, I have got that thing called emotions, now I know what it is all about." I rub my hand together as I stare at his eyes with smiles.

The corner of his eyes was crinkled. "I would like to hear it." He said in his deep voice, one thing about my father, he always wants evidence that logic just shows him the damn thing, he compliments it also when he likes it and it is always hard to make him like something.

"Okay, dad." I lifted my glass to my lips again and he averted his gaze, I traced it and he was staring at the beautiful garden again.

"It is so good to be back in my homeland again, I miss the scenario." He said softly and turned to me after taking a deep breath and exhaling. "How did you live seven years away from home?"

I chuckled at his question, although he had not sent me away, I had gone away on my own since I love travelling and also part of the reason I left was for my music. When you are a musician, you tend to become a traveller.

"I tried my best to adapt to dad." I leaned back to my chair and closed my eyes as I muttered. "Being away is not easy." It was not, but the few ladies I met with made it more difficult.

My dad's phone rang and he talked for a few minutes and then turned to meet my gaze. "Why don't I listen to the music now?"

"Okay." I brought out my phone and turned on the song as I placed it on the table. "Dad, it is just to show you how my emotions clouded this song, I will produce a better one soon."

I watched my father listen to it, he would raise his brow for a while and then nod his head, but I couldn't read his expression, but I really love this song, since I composed it when Malinda was next to me, she had helped me find a better key and was good at it, I have also taught her few keys and we had played with the lyrics of this song.

It made me smile as it got to a line where I described Malinda, she was the one I dedicated this song to, and I might dedicate all my future music to her, also she was the first female I have never gotten bored of and am not sure I will.

I always push ladies aside in a week or two, but it has been a month now, still, I haven't been able to know everything about her, she is a mystery every day.

"Wow!" I heard my father exclaim as I pulled out my mesmerized thoughts and looked at him. "You proved to me that you can have emotions just by being in love with someone, I see that Yvonne was a big help to you." He made a little clap with his hands and a smile curled up on my lips.

I touched the corner of my chin and nodded, my father wasn't aware so I had to play along for a few minutes. "Yes, she helped me to know my feelings." This was part of the truth and my dad looked so happy that his eyes were dancing.

"I know you would fall in love with her." His eyes glistened and his eyebrow wagged.

"I don't love her." The smile on my lips had disappeared and my dad's expression also changed as he sat up and looked down at my phone and then at me.

"Then, this song, was it not dedicated to her?" He asked me as he stared at me with pursed lips.

"No." I shook my head. The music was a love song, describing in detail how I have finally fallen in love with one person and how I happened to discover that it was love and perhaps, he must have seen me smiling when the music was playing.

I have dragged this all for too long and I love telling the truth about things. "I dedicated it to the person I love," I told him with a smile. My father was happy with the song, he was happy because of the emotion in it, then, he would also be happy if I told him who that person was, but little did I know.
