Chapter 10: Chapter 10
Yvonne was seen shopping with her father in a big mall, she showed her father the dress she had on her hands. "Dad, how is this dress, I want to wear it on my next date with him." She turned to the mirror.
"It is gorgeous," Malcolm told her, leaning on the wall, he looked at the happy smile on his daughter's face. "So, have you decided?"
Yvonne blinks and turns to him. "Well...dad, I want to give it a try, I might come to love him, even though he is haughty." She grins and picks up another dress.
"Well, I have seen you want to give it a try, I wish you all the best." Malcolm smiled, this was the first time Yvonne had said she would give a man a try, she had always ended every meeting with a man the first day she met them.
Yvonne looked at the mirror with another purple dress this time and she blushed. "Dad, do you know, he hugged me that day, that means he also felt something strong for me..." She shook her head, her heart leaping for joy just at the remembrance of that date with Russeli.
"You're so much." Malcolm chuckled.
"Dad, out of all the men I went on a date with, he is the person who stands out uniquely, buying me a necklace, putting it on me, telling me I am very pretty, agreeing to where I want to go, and he asked for my opinion first." Yvonne smiles. "Dad, he is special, I have to see his cuteness until the end."
"Wow! I can't believe you said all those things in one breath." Malcolm told her as he laughed.
"Dad, that's because I am excited." Yvonne did a little shoulder dance with her shoulder and picked another outfit. "I have to go try this one." She heads over to the dressing room and Malcolm smiles, he had never seen anyone who made Yvonne this happy, she was just like her mother right now.
Russell POV
Dominic, my best friend, came back from California and came over to my house to visit me. It has been a long while since we saw each other, well we were both too busy, me especially.
We sat down on a chair in the living room discussing, I have to call our maid whose name I still don't know, nor bother to know. She came over to the living room, with her eyes down on her feet. "Sir, you called me." She said softly in her sweet voice.
"Get me two glasses and a bottle of wine from the wine cellar," I told her, she made a little bow and left to do as I said, when I turned to face Dominic again, his eyes were still the exit our maid just left from.
"Who is that girl, is she your new friend, like a girlfriend?" Dominic asked and I scoffed, rolling my eyes at him.
"You are crazy Dominic, how can a maid be my girlfriend, whereas she is not my type." I can't believe Dominic will even think to that extent like I got class in choosing people I go out on a date with.
"You said, maid?" Dominic looked at me confused, I think he was because the last time he came here there was no maid, but what he said next surprised me. "How can a pretty girl like that be a maid?"
I raised my brow. "Pretty you said?" I lean back to my chair, Dominic loves women a lot, so he can call any lady pretty, whereas how did he see her face when she had her eyes on her feet all the time she was here.
"Are you blindfolded to see it?" He asked me and we were both silent as our maid came in to serve us the drinks. She put down the two glasses and was about to pour the drink when I noticed Dominic staring at her with that lustful eyes.
"Hey!" I called out the maid's attention and she looked up at me. "Just go to your room, leave us," I told her and she bowed and left, I turned sharply to Dominic. "Hey, Dominic, stop looking at her like that."
Dominic exhaled softly like he was holding his breath all this time. "She's too, didn't you notice her gentleness, long pretty hairs and lovely red lips.."
"Lips.." That word made me have a flashback of kissing her in my room but I was confused. "Hey, Dominic, stop it!" I furrowed my brow. "You are making me imagine things." I poured myself a wine and sip it, did I kiss her?
"Like...you hugging her and kissing her?" Dominic said it so softly that it sinks into my head.
"Hugging..." I got another flashback of hugging her in my room and it was making me crazy. "Hey, Dominic, what the heck do you think you're saying!" I snapped.
Dominic chuckled and leaned back to his chair. "I was just joking, but you took it so seriously." He paused and looked at me. "But of a truth, she is pretty, too pretty to be a maid, and whereas she looks like she is stressing herself, don't her parents know she is doing such work or is she poor?"
I was raising my glass to my lips but stopped at his question. "She is an orphan," I told him softly and put down my glass.
"Huh!" Dominic was rather a shock. "An orphan?" He exhaled softly. "Why do these things always happen to pretty girls?"
I shrugged and looked in the direction of the kitchen. "It's her business, whereas she is working for the money and she is the one gaining, so let her be." I picked up my glass and took a large sip of my wine.
I heard Dominic sigh. "I have known you to be a person nonchalant in one's business," I smirked, I was glad he knew how unconcerned I am about that. "But, to tell you the truth, you have got to feel for her and help her, you are being so strict and look around this big house, no help only her."
My friend Dominic is stupid at times and talk without think, I knew he was trying to get me to pity the maid who is working to earn her keep.
"Dominic, don't be sentimental." I shoot him a hard glare. "Do I have to clean the house which she does for money, or attend to the needs of my father which she gets paid for, or..."
"Not that." Dominic interrupted me and I raised my brow. "Like this cup of wine you asked her to bring, you should do it yourself, it is part of helping."
I couldn't believe the gibberish that came out of Dominic's mouth. I raised my hands and he stopped speaking. "Dominic, I have heard enough of your words. Was that why you came to see me?"
"Oh! I almost forgot the reason I was here." He paused. "I want to..."
"Least I forget." I cut him off before he could say a thing and he looked at me curiously. "That girl, my father's maid, the way you stare at her, do not do that anymore," I told him seriously to get that into his head.
"How?" He looked confused so I sat up to explain it better to him.
"You have bad thoughts and your eyes are filled with lust, don't have any intentions whatsoever to do anything like even saying a word to her, and you should be meeting me outside my house from now on, cause I know what you can do to every girl you call pretty."
Dominic smiles and leans to his hands. "And what do I do to them?" He asked me like he doesn't know what he always does.
"You flirt with them, have fun with them and even have sex with them, then after three days, you dump them," I told him to his face, this was the kind of person Dominic is.
Dominic laughed at my words and I frowned. "So what difference is it between the both of us?" He said, still smiling.
"I am far different from you." I raised my glass to my lips and sipped my wine.
"How long do you stay in a relationship with a girl?" He asked me with his hands on the chair he leaned and his legs crossed.
"It's far more than three days." I know I don't have emotions or fall in love with any girl but the one who wishes to stay with me, I still leave them when I lose interest.
"I agree, but it doesn't last for a month." Dominic picked up his glass of wine and lifted it to his lips with a silly smile on his lips.
"I am still different from you at least..."
"No, not different.."
"I am..."
"Your last girlfriend, how long did you stay with her.."
"It was up to three weeks and four days, it is just a bit more days before it gets to a month.."
"But, it's still not.."
