Chapter 6: Chapter 6

If I could just go back to that night and change what happened, I would. A million times, I would. But everything is too late. It is too late.

Waking up from a nightmare is worse, but waking up next to a stranger and finding out that you're now married is much worse than I thought. Especially the fact something happened to the two of you.

"How did it happen? I didn't... what... what did I do. Fuck!" I repeatedly whispered to myself.

I felt even more frustrated because I don’t remember any of what happened. I looked again at the man next to me who was still behind me. I closed my eyes firmly and hurriedly got dressed and arranged my belongings, and then it turned out that even though I could still feel the weakness in my whole body.

I hurried out of that hotel and took a taxi home. I don’t know how I’ll feel at first. My chest was full of nervousness and confusion. I can not remember anything. The last thing I remember was Riley pouring alcohol into my mouth. After that, everything is blurry and gone.

While I was in the taxi, I forced myself to open my cell phone. When it opened, Elena's call immediately registered, so I answered it quickly.

"Oh my God, Ana! Where the hell have you been? Why did you just answer now?" She immediately opened up to me. I even heard the noise of her background which my guess was it was Via and Riley.

"What happened? When we returned to our table, you were gone. Where are you?" She asked again.

Gradually, the incident registered in my head after they made me drink a lot. I was caught in my mouth when I remembered how I danced in the middle of a crowd while drowning myself in the music.

"Sir Ares was looking for you on our last night, all night! It's a good thing Via answered and just said you're asleep. Where are you really?" She asked again.

"E-Elena... I can't remember anything..." I almost whispered to myself. Next, I heard her firm cuss.

"What? What do you mean you don't remember anything? What happened to you? Are you home yet?" She asked a series of questions, so I was even more confused.

Especially when that man’s face registered in my head.

"I'm on my way home. I don't know what happened. I just woke up..."

I could not continue what I was going to say because she had preceded me.

"Oh my god! Don't tell me... fuck! Fuck! What have you done? Fuck it! Let's meet. I'm going to your house!" She told me angrily, so I felt even more scared.

My hands began to tremble as that call was turned off. I was just stunned outside the window and didn't know what to do next. I feel intense fear in my heart, but I also feel something strange that I can’t explain.

When I got home, I immediately went straight to my room and locked it. My knees and hands began to tremble as I plugged in my cell phone. When it opened, texts and calls came from Elena, especially Ares.

Sometime later, I heard a loud bang on the bedroom door, so I almost had a heart attack. I felt even more intense pain in my body, especially that part. I no longer knew what was going on!

"Ana! Are you there yet? Ares is here!"

I almost fainted when I heard that from mama. I kept sitting on my bed thinking about what to do or say to him. I feel like I can't face him now. My conscience would not allow it and it's eating me up big time!

Again, the door slammed and mama shouted again from outside.

"Your brother saw you come. Where did you come from? Ares is here, waiting for you!"

At the same time, my cell phone rang, so I turned my gaze to it. When I saw Ares calling, I was still hesitant about whether to answer it or not. But eventually, I answered his call.

"Babe... where have you been?" He immediately opened up to me. Concern was evident in the tone of his voice.

I bit my lower lip and blinked emphatically. When I opened my eyes, I was struck by the sight of the wedding ring I was wearing.

"Ana? Are you there? Are you alright? What happened? Please, talk to me, baby," he begged which made me suffer even more.

"A-Ares..." I said in the middle of my trembling voice.

"Oh, thank God you're okay. Where have you been? Can we talk, please? I'm fucking worried about you." His voice is pleading, so my conscience hit me even harder.

"I... I'm sick and... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." I just said that and ended that call because I really couldn't do it.

I quickly ran into the bathroom of my room and turned on the shower. I didn't even take off my clothes and read right away. As soon as the drops of water fell on my body, I started to cry. I closed my eyes firmly as I heard a series of knocks from outside.

How can I tell him about what happened last night? How can I tell him about the marriage and that I was with a man I do not know? How can I tell him that I gave in to a stranger? That after I repeatedly reject him, I would only give in to a stranger?

How can I tell him everything? Damn it, Ana! What are you going to do?

I cried for almost an hour as I remembered those waiting for me after this day. Later, even before I could get up, the bathroom door opened and Elena spat, so I cried again. She came quickly to me and helped me to my feet.

"Damn it..." She whispered loudly. "What happened to you?"

I did not answer her. She helped me get dressed. When that was over, she was still asking me some questions when she took me to my bed.

"H-how did you get in?" I asked her. She just laughed sarcastically at me and then shook her head.

"Are you serious? That's really the first thing you're going to tell me?"

"Ares is outside—"

"I already talked to him and I said don't force you to talk. Now, tell me what happened. Where the hell have you been all night?" She asked me a serious question, so I quickly avoided looking at her.

I fell to the bed and covered my eyes with my arm.

"I-I don't know, Elena. I just woke up next to..."

I took a deep breath and did not continue what I was about to say. I sigh tiredly.

"I really don't know what happened! I don't remember anything. I... I asked him what happened but he refused to answer me. I don't know how to tell Ares what happened because I don't really remember and I don't know the man... that..." I caught my breath when I said that.

I get up frustrated and looked at her. I could see the shock in her.

"You had a one-night stand with a stranger?" She couldn't believe it, she asked me.

I felt even heavier when I remembered Ares and his voice earlier when we talked.

"I-it's not just that, Elena... I married him and it's an official marriage. No fucking joke," I told her emphatically and showed her the ring I was wearing.

Elena's eyes widened even more as she stared at my wedding ring. She kept sitting next to me while cursing repeatedly.

"How did it happen... Who is that man? How can you tell Sir Ares that you married a stranger and you even went on a honeymoon?"

I bit my lower lip and then hit Elena hard on her arm. She just screamed. I went back to bed and then remembered Ares again. His voice earlier. It was full of pleading and worries. My conscience couldn't even bear it all. When I first heard his voice earlier, my conscience could no longer bear it. How else could he cope? How can I face him after this day?

"Look, someone texted you," I heard Elena say, so I looked at her.

I quickly took my cell phone from her hand and read that text.
