Chapter 181: Chapter 181

SONG MOONHO was a Necromancer.

Of course, he could tell how Song Sunho— his precious younger brother— died.

To be honest, he didn’t have to use his abilities.

Moonho carefully put down Song Sunho on the jacket that he spread on the floor, and then he inspected his dead brother’s body.

It was obvious that his limbs were cut off one by one with a sharp weapon.

After that, someone sewed his severed body parts.

[How dare those bastards do this to my brother...]

Moonho could tell that Song Sunho suffered before he died.

In short, his younger brother was tortured.

There were only a few Swordmasters in the world who could cut a person this cleanly.

The first person who entered his mind was APA’s loyal dog— Kunwoo.

[Kunwoo likes cutting people, but he also likes hiding a limb or two for the victim’s family or friends to look for like a treasure hunt. The fact that Sunho’s body parts are complete, and that the severed limbs are sewed back, suggests that it wasn’t the old dog.]

But there was a bigger mystery than who tortured and murdered his poor brother.

"Why? Why didn’t you use your abilities to fight back, Sunho-ya?" Moonho whispered in disbelief. "Did they seal their abilities? Did you lose them?"

He had so many questions.

If Song Sunho didn’t lose his abilities, there was no way he would get caught and killed.

His little brother could be dumb sometimes, but he was still an S-Class Hunter with abilities that allowed him to escape even a monster like Kunwoo.

But if his abilities suddenly disappeared...

"Do you want to know what happened to your brother?"

Moonho raised his head, glaring at the person who suddenly appeared before him.

It was a square-headed villain with an ’AI’ voice to hide their identity.

[He must be a member of the Anti-System Faction.]

However, unlike the weaklings that Moonho had met in the past, this one seemed like an ’Executive.’

The golden pin shaped like a standard computer mouse said so.

"It looks like you’re here to tell me anyway," Moonho said closely, putting a hand on his brother’s bare shoulder. "You better speak now while I’m still sober."

The church already exploded when his anger reached its peak earlier.

Now he was starting to feel the urge to kill.

"But then again, whether you open your mouth or not, I have no intention of letting you leave this place alive."

The square-headed villain flinched, and then he jumped away from him.

If the bastard was thinking of running away, then it was already too late.

Moonho waited until the black miasma swallowed Song Sunho’s entire body.

And when his brother’s body was safely stored in his ’Coffin’— a space similar to his Inventory, but only for corpses— only then did he stand up and face the enemy properly.

The square-headed villain looked around and clicked his tongue loudly.

It was because the bastard noticed that the entire place was already covered with black tentacles.

Those gigantic tentacles were from the corpse of the Kraken that Moonho got recently.

The body of the Sea Monster was attached on the ceiling, its red eyes glowing menacingly. Its gigantic tentacles were blocking all the possible exit. And some of those tentacles had already found their way outside the church.

Moonho could control the Kraken so its tentacles wouldn’t hurt anyone.

But he wasn’t in the mood to care about other people right now.

"Fine," the square-headed villain said as if he was giving up on escaping. "Since I’m already here, might as well do what I came here to do."

Moonho raised an eyebrow. "And what would that be?"

"As a Necromancer, I’m pretty sure you already realized how Song Sunho died."

He neither confirmed nor denied it. ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by novel(ꜰ)ire.net

[Because my silence usually pressures the other person.]

And it worked, as expected.

The square-headed villain obviously panicked and talked more than they should, probably. "You may have already guessed it, but I’m here to confirm that Song Sunho did lose his abilities as a Hunter."

Moonho maintained a poker-face, but he was seething inside.

[So, I was right. There’s no way Sunho would go down without a fight. All I need is to make this bastard tell me how it happened.]

Hence, he kept his mouth shut.

Giving a nervous enemy the silent treatment always made them talk more.

"You should check your phone and watch the video I sent you, Song Moonho."

Moonho didn’t move an inch.

"Man, just check it!" the villain urged him nervously. "You’ll find the answers you’re looking for if you’re quick-witted enough."

Only then did Moonho move to pull out his phone from the inner pocket of his jacket.

As expected, he got a message from an unknown number.

Since there was no important data saved on his phone, he played the video without much thought.

It was a CCTV footage taken inside a private hospital room.

The patient was a young man who kept on coughing up a pretty huge chunk of blood while his guardian, a woman in her thirties, pressed the emergency bell.

"That young man is Lee Seojin," the square-headed villain said. "Lee Seodam’s brother."

The young man’s guardian ran towards the door impatiently while yelling for the doctors to hurry up.

Moonho got to focus on Lee Seojin after the woman disappeared from the frame.

And that was when he saw it.

The drops of blood that Lee Seojin threw up a moment ago suddenly floated in the air, circling as if someone was controlling them. And then it changed its form. The blood suspended above Lee Seojin took the form of a small knife.

But when the female guardian returned to the room, the blood shaped like a knife suddenly vanished.

Moonho felt a chill down his spine.

[It’s the same ability as Sunho...]

"It’s normal for some Hunters to have similar abilities— just like how you’re not the only Necromancer in the world," the square-headed villain said. "However, do you think it’s a coincidence that Song Sunho lost his abilities for no reason? And then someone else awakened as a Hunter with the exact same abilities as your brother?"

Moonho thought the same, but he kept his mouth shut while looking at the enemy coldly.

"I heard Song Sunho attacked Chu Wonhee’s best friend— Gong Yool— recently."

Moonho couldn’t help but react this time because Gong Yool was brought up. "What about it?"

"Chu Wonhee must have a burning hate for Song Sunho because of that."

Moonho already knew where this conversation was headed.

"And it just so happens that Chu Wonhee treasures Lee Seojin like a little brother," the square-headed villain said, laughing. "Song Moonho, do you think it’s a co-incidence that Song Sunho lost his abilities while Lee Seojin awakened with your brother’s abilities?"

Moonho crushed the phone in his hand, an ungodly amount of anger rising in his chest.
