Chapter 150: Chapter 150
[CHU WONHEE: We’re going to complete the potion that will help Guide Ahn Kisoo recover his Guiding abilities!]
[Cabbage Kid: Okay! Let me know once it’s done!]
Wonhee was using her Status Window like a phone while chatting with Bitna.
They weren’t busy yet anyway.
Right now, she was in her older sister’s laboratory (not the Isolated Laboratory since it worked like an Inventory!) in the mansion with Semi and Ahn Kisoo.
The rest of the guests, including Yejun and Do Ahyeon, were outside.
[Geon Oppa is there if Yejun and Graham-ssi start to bicker like kids.]
"Hee-ya, you’ve learned about your Mana Tank, right?"
"Yes, Unnie," Wonhee said, nodding politely. "It’s where the Mana I get from Yejun or other Hunters I Guide goes to."
"Very good," Semi said, gently patting Wonhee’s head. "I’m not a Guide, but I heard from Rora that you can feel your Mana spreading through your body like blood."
"That’s right, Unnie."
"I want you to move that Mana from your body into this," Semi said, pushing a fancy-looking vial towards Wonhee. "Can you do that, Hee-ya?"
[Just like how I Guide Yejun and the others.]
Wonhee gently wrapped her hands around the vial. "I can do that, Unnie."
And then she closed her eyes.
She focused and imagined the Mana flowing in her veins like it was blood.
Then she moved it and gathered the energy in the her hands, then on her palms, and finally, at the tip of her fingers. She wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination or what, but the vial seemed to be cold suddenly.
"Hee-ya, it’s enough."
Wonhee opened her eyes, and then she let out a gasp when she saw that the vial had turned into ice. "I’m sorry," she said guiltily while moving her hands away from the now frozen bottle. "I didn’t mean to freeze it. Did I mess it up?"
"No, you did well, Hee-ya," Semi said proudly. "The recipe that I received says the potion should end up in a frozen state after you put your energy into it. Then Graham is supposed to use his red flame to melt the potion. Once the ice is melted, only then would it be safe for Ahn Kisoo to consume it."
So, it was a success.
Ahn Kisoo smiled at her. "Thank you so much, Wonhee-ssi. I mean it. If it weren’t for you, then I would have been forced to retire as a Guide early."
If that happened, then Graham would definitely snap again.
[I prevented yet another national crisis.]
"I’m indebted to you, Wonhee-ssi," Ahn Kisoo said sincerely. "Again, thank you."
Wonhee felt proud of herself, but she tried not to show it in her smile. "You’re welcome, Kisoo-ssi. I’m happy to help." Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by novel fire.net
[AS EXPECTED, Maru is a genius.]
Yool only had to listen to the demo once, and he already got inspired.
He was able to finish his rap part in just an hour or two.
But he spent the entire night making it perfect, of course.
After several revisions, he was finally done with his part.
That was how he ended up at Peace Entertainment– Maru’s agency.
[I could have just recorded my part and sent the demo to them, but I don’t have the equipment. When I said I was going to rent a studio, the agency’s representative invited me here.]
But when he got there...
"I’m sorry, Yool-ssi. But it seems like Maru’s new single will have to get postponed."
That was what Jina, Maru’s manager, said after she brought him to the conference room instead of the studio.
Yool honestly thought he was going to meet Maru in person.
[But it seems like there’s a problem in the company.]
"It sounds like it’s not Maru-ssi nor the company’s decision to delay the new single," Yool said carefully. "If it’s not too much to ask, may I know what the problem is?"
"Since you’ve come all the way here, you deserve to know that much," Jina said in a friendly voice. Then she paused and let out a sigh. Her face looked crestfallen while explaining what happened. "Do you know Kei? The current popular solo singer?"
"No, I don’t really listen to new artists."
[Kpop is boring in this world because they only debut Awakened People these days who don’t put in enough effort to improve.]
"Kei is a B-Class Hunter who debuted as a solo singer last year," Jina said, her voice quite bitter. "He has the visual of an actor, but his singing and dancing are pretty mid. But his music sounds a lot like Maru’s old songs."
"It’s sampling– Kei used the same samples that Maru used in his old songs," the manager said, sighing. "Anyways, long story short, Kei’s agency wants Maru to delay the release of his new single because Kei doesn’t want their schedules to overlap."
Yool scoffed because he could already tell what happened. "He doesn’t want to be compared to Maru-ssi. That kid Kei must be more popular domestically. But you can’t underestimate Maru-ssi’s overseas fans. They even sent protest trucks to Maru-ssi’s Korean fans for being lazy when it comes to voting."
Jina laughed softly, but she sighed again. "Kei is from A-LIST Entertainment, and it’s a big agency."
[That’s Park Ruda’s agency known for only signing Awakened People.]
"They pretty much threatened our small company," Jina confessed in a sad voice. "When we didn’t budge, the CEO of A-LIST Entertainment talked to our investors. Then the investors backed out, so we can’t proceed with the preparations. Maru-ssi was willing to use his own money to fund his comeback, but our CEO is afraid of the retaliation that we might get from A-LIST. That company is known for controlling the big broadcast stations, after all. Maru-ssi might get blacklisted if we stay stubborn."
[This is why Civilian-celebrities are either losing their jobs to Awakened People or losing their motivation to work.]
"Is the CEO of A-LIST Entertainment more influential than the Big 4?"
"Do you think the CEO of A-LIST Entertainment can go against a member of the Big 4?"
Jina laughed while shaking her head. "Of course not, Yool-ssi. Not even APA could go against the Big 4. How could a CEO of an entertainment agency fight them? They’re richer, more powerful, and more influential than any company president in our country."
"Good," Yool said, pulling out the phone from the pocket of his pants. "Please tell your team to proceed with the preparations– I’ll get us a new investor."
SONG MOONHO was in the middle of a meeting with the Autumn Guild’s elite team in his house when it arrived.
A mysterious package.
He had a feeling that it was from Yool because the label suggested that the order was made when Yool was staying at his mansion.
[This might be one of his pranks.]
Like those stupid little duck toys that Yool hid in his house.
[I wonder what is it this time.]
Before Moonho knew it, he was already opening the package in front of his team.
And it was a big mistake.
"OHH!" Zaizai, the loudest member of the Autumn Guild’s elite team, got the biggest reaction. "Are those sex toys, Guildmaster?"
Moonho stood up with a blank look on his face, then he excused himself and left the drawing room before anyone else could react,
[Yool-ssi... you’re testing my patience.]
As soon as he got into his bedroom, he pulled out his phone. He was about to call Yool, but he didn’t have to because Yool called first.
[Did he call to confirm if I got the package?]
"Yool-ssi, your prank this time–"
<"Ahjussi, would you like me to fulfill your dream of becoming a sugar daddy?">
Moonho raised an eyebrow, smiling. "Should I start calling you ’baby’ now?"
