Chapter 121: Chapter 121

[After Chu Wonhee disappeared...]

SOOBIN cursed under his breath.

If his Status Window didn’t show up when it did, he would have snapped already.

[Guide Chu Wonhee is inside the dungeon! The System launched an for Hunter Hwang Yejun!]

"Calm down, children."

Soobin turned to Song Moonho and saw the man assuring Do Ahyeon and Gong Yool, Wonhee’s friends, that everything was fine.

[I guess the System notified Song Moonho, too.]

"Chu Wonhee was summoned inside the dungeon to guide Hwang Yejun," Song Moonho explained to Wonhee’s friends. "You don’t have to trust Hwang Yejun, but you can trust his skill. Even in his current state, no one in Korea can replace him as a member of the Big 4."

Soobin didn’t comment on Song Moonho’s remark because he didn’t want Wonhee’s friends to worry.

But he could neither trust Hwang Yejun nor his abilities.

And it was because Soobin saw Hwang Yejun during his rampage a year ago.

Song Moonho approached him, leaving Gong Yool and Do Ahyeon who were talking to each other.

[And it looks like it’s confidential since Do Ahyeon has put up a barrier around them.]

Come to think of it...

[Based on Hee-ya’s conversation with Gong Yool in the car earlier, it seems like Gong Yool can help Hee-ya. But Hee-ya doesn’t want to sacrifice Gong Yool. I wonder what it could be and if I could use Gong Yool–]

"Yeon Soobin, don’t even think about it."

Soobin’s knees nearly collapsed when Song Moonho released his bloodlust, the pressure almost crushing him to the ground.

He may be an S-Class, but he was still no match against a naturally awakened S-Class.

The only thing he could do to save face as an S-Class Hunter was to remain standing.

Soobin clenched his jaws. "Are you picking a fight with me, Song Moonho?"

Song Moonho flashed his annoying fake-ass "gentle" smile. "Soobin-ah, you’re a national treasure, so I want to cherish you as much as possible. But if you try to touch what’s mine, then I’m afraid our country will suffer a huge loss."

[This old bastard noticed my ill-intent towards Gong Yool.]

"Is Gong Yool yours?" Soobin asked quietly. "Song Moonho, that child is the same age as our Hee-ya. Although twenty-five is an adult, don’t you think Gong Yool is too young for a forty-year-old ahjussi like you?"

"That’s none of your business, Soobin-ah," Song Moonho said, still smiling. "Don’t touch Gong Yool or else I’ll break my contract with the System and mess with your plans."

Soobin didn’t want to admit this, but he didn’t doubt Song Moonho’s words even though he hadn’t met a Hunter yet who was able to break a contract with the System.

[He’s the type to make the impossible possible just to be petty.]

"And if you really mess with Gong Yool, I’ll tattle on you to Chu Wonhee," Song Moonho added "cheerfully." "Not only would you upset your precious baby sister, but you’d also lose the System’s favor."

Soobin looked at the old bastard coldly. "You talk as if you know something."

"The System rewards people who are good to Chu Wonhee and punish those who aren’t. It’s not that hard to figure out, Soobin-ah," Song Moonho said. "Your precious baby sister doesn’t look dumb. I bet she already figured it out as well. Aren’t you afraid that Chu Wonhee might doubt the love that you have for her?"

"Our Hee-ya will never doubt our love for her because she knows it’s genuine," Soobin said confidently. "So, it’s not a big deal even if she has already figured out the System’s carrot and stick scheme. That’s not the thing we should be worrying about."

"Is there a bigger problem than that?"

[The bigger problem is the reason why the System is giving rewards and punishments according to how Hunters treat our Hee-ya. But if Hee-ya finds out the reason behind it, her heart will definitely break.]

Aside from the System, only Soobin and Semi knew the truth.

[Semi Noona and I promised to protect our Hee-ya and the secret behind her luck.]

"It seems like you know something that we don’t," Song Moonho commented. "Let me guess. Semi Noona also knows about this little secret of yours?"

"The System recognizes me and Semi Noona as our Hee-ya’s guardians. So, of course, Semi Noona knows as much as I do," Soobin said, but he didn’t elaborate. "Anyway, stop prying. I’m not telling you anything."

"Aww. I thought I was about to make you spill the beans, Soobin-ah."

"Only Graham and Hwang Yejun would fall for your tricks since those kids could sometimes be too naïve for someone of their status."

Song Moonho chuckled. "That’s true."

"Anyway, what were you trying to say earlier?"

This old bastard wouldn’t approach him for a small talk.

It looked like Song Moonho was about to say something, but he paused and his gaze went past Soobin.

When Soobin followed the old bastard’s gaze...

"Soobin, has Hee-ya returned yet?"

Semi and Graham appeared out of thin air.

"The System notified us that they sent our Hee-ya to the dungeon to guide Hwang Yejun," Semi said worriedly. "That ice brat hasn’t cleared the dungeon yet?"

"It’s a Special-Grade Crack, so even Hwang Yejun will have a hard time clearing it," Soobin said. "But I’m sure Hwang Yejun and the System will keep our Hee-ya safe."

"Yeah," Graham said, nodding. "And I can’t imagine Hwang Yejun losing."

"Now that all the important Hunters are here, let me ask a question," Song Moonho said. As expected, he was taking the lead again like he had often done in the past. "Raise your hand if you believe Hwang Yejun will clear the dungeon."

Everyone raised their hands and offered an explanation one by one.

"Hwang Yejun may not be as strong as he used to be, but a Special-Grade Crack is still nothing for him," Soobin said. "I don’t trust him, but I trust his skills."

"Same," Semi agreed with Soobin. "I can kill Hwang Yejun in his current state, but I’m sure I’d lose an arm or two in the process. That means he’s still capable of clearing a Special-Grade Dungeon. If not, then our reputation as the Big 4 will go down the drain."

Graham laughed as if he found Soobin and Semi’s answers funny. "Hyung, Noona, you’re too serious. Hwang Yejun is a simpleton– he doesn’t care about boring stuff like our reputation as the Big 4," he said, shrugging. "That kid is a huge simp for Chu Wonhee, so he won’t die in front of the woman he wants to impress. As simple as that."

Soobin thought it sounded stupid, but come to think of it...

[Hwang Yejun is academically smart, but he’s just a dumb kid inside.]

"I guess you understand our maknae the most because you’re as dumb as him," Song Moonho said, obviously teasing Graham. "Birds of the same feathers really do flock together, huh?"

Song Moonho smiled coldly at Graham, and Graham immediately hid behind Semi.

"Anyway, even if we believe that Hwang Yejun will clear the dungeon and come out alive, APA won’t," Song Moonho said. "So, I have a plan."

Soobin raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

Song Moonho chuckled. "Hwang Yejun is the plan."

Wonhee covered her mouth with her hands when she was greeted by the first thing that she noticed after getting out of the igloo.

The snowy mountain moved.

And it turned out it wasn’t a snowy mountain.

"A giant tortoise?" Wonhee asked in disbelief. "And it has the snowy mountain as its shell..."

It was a beautiful monster.

"Dungeon monsters are usually strange like that," Yejun said while looking up at the giant tortoise calmly. "It’s an S-Grade Final Boss monster. Hmm."

"Why? Is there something wrong?" Official source is novelfire.net

"I’m thinking of asking the System to send you out."

"What? No, I’m staying here."

"I need to fight, all out," Yejun explained, looking at her with a confident smile. "Don’t worry, Wonhee-ya. I won’t lose. Not after you gave me back half of the power I lost a year ago."

She knew that Yejun got stronger just by his eye color.

Even so, she was still worried.

[TAKE THE FINAL BOSS OUT OF MY DUNGEON, YOU DAMNED NORMIES!]

Wonhee was pretty surprised when her Status Window popped up again.

She received a message from another Awakened Person.

[It’s the that the System wants me to meet.]

Earlier, the System informed Wonhee that her future was there to help them get out of the dungeon.

[Let’s try talking to them.]

"Uhm, isn’t it dangerous to bring out the final boss?" Wonhee asked worriedly. "And we can’t come out of the dungeon without clearing it first."

Fortunately, her words turned into texts.

And she received a prompt reply from her .

"They told us to follow their lead," Wonhee said, and then she turned to Yejun. "What should we do, Yejun-ah?"

"I’m not good at following orders, though," Yejun said, raising his hands as if he were going to attack the giant tortoise. "Tell your friend to follow MY lead."

[This brat can really read other people’s Status Windows...]

Wonhee was about to scold Yejun, but she was distracted when her Status Window suddenly popped up.

This time, she got a call.

And the display picture of the caller was a cabbage...

... and angry cabbage, at that.
