Chapter 114: Chapter 114

[OH, THEY’RE still here.]

Yool shook the mini safety vault.

The vault was a bit heavy even though it could only fit a few notebooks inside.

"Aren’t you going to check the content of the vault?"

"Not in front of you, Ahjussi," Yool said, facing Song Moonho. "Thank you for helping me retrieve my stolen items. I’ll contact you again once I have the information that we need to get rid of the enemies."

Song Moonho, who was sitting on the bumper of his luxury car, crossed his arms over his chest. "Are you throwing me away after using my body?"

"Yes, I’m a heartless person like that."

"I think you’re too trusting for a heartless person, Yool-ssi. Do you believe that the singer just happened to see your belongings on the internet?"

"Maru-ssi gave a plausible explanation. And he has no reason to target me since both of us are Civilians." Nᴇw ɴovel chaptᴇrs are published on N0veI.Fiɾe.net

"According to my investigation, Maru is a devout member of the Systema Church."

"Sistema? System?" Yool asked, tilting his head to one side. "Isn’t ’sistema’ a foreign word for ’system?’"

"’Sistema’ is a foreign word, but not in this context," Song Moonho explained. "It’s spelled as S-Y-S-T-E-M-A. The followers of that religion fondly call the System as ’System-ah.’"

"Because... we’re Koreans?"

The old man chuckled and nodded his head. "Yes. Since the System appeared over nine years ago, they believe the System is a child around that age. Hence, they fondly refer to it as ’System-ah.’ When foreigners who weren’t familiar with the honorifics we use here joined the church, the word ’System-ah’ soon evolved to ’Systema.’ That’s how they got their church name."

"That’s strangely wholesome."

"There are many religions that worship the System appeared all over the years, but so far, the Systema Church is one of the few that hasn’t been involved in a scandal yet. Their activities mainly involve feeding and helping people who have been orphaned by dungeon breaks," Song Moonho explained. "Even so, you must be careful around people who obsess over the System."

"I don’t think Maru-ssi is dangerous, but I’ll keep that in mind."

"Good. Anyway, it’s starting to get late. Let me drop you off at the hotel."

[I knew he’d insist on driving me back to the hotel.]

Maru had a schedule that evening, so after handing Yool his stolen belongings, the idol left after getting fetched by his manager.

So, Yool was now in the parking lot with Song Moonho while getting ready to leave.

Yool got distracted when he noticed that Song Moonho’s body was quickly getting bigger and bigger.

The effect of the potion that he took earlier was probably wearing off already.

And, as a result, the shirt he was wearing "shrunk"– especially in the chest area.

[Look at the old man’s broad shoulders and wide expanse of chest– ouch!]

The buttons of Song Moonho’s shirt snapped, and one flew towards Yool and hit his forehead.

"Are you trying to kill me?" Yool complained. He couldn’t even touch his aching forehead because he was hugging the mini vault in his arms. "That hurts."

"I’m sorry," Song Moonho said, laughing softly while removing his shirt. "I’ll give you a potion for the bump on your forehead."

[Does he really have to strip in front of me?]

Yool couldn’t take his eyes off Song Moonho’s sinful body.

Fortunately, he got a distraction when his phone rang. The ringtone indicated that it was Do Ahyeon calling, so he put down the vault on the ground.

And then he picked up the call while turning his back on Song Moonho.

<"Hyung, where are you? Wony Noona is self-destructing! She started acting weirdly after talking to Lee Seodam!">

That freaking guy again, huh?

"Send me your location," Yool said, his jaw clenched. "I’ll be there."

He then ended the call.

A few seconds later, he received a text from Ahyeon.

[They’re at the Han River?]

To be precise, Wonhee and Ahyeon were at the park that served as Wonhee and Lee Seodam’s dating spot in the past.

"Yool-ssi, let’s go."

Yool turned around and was momentarily mesmerized while watching Song Moonho– who had now completely returned to his original appearance– roll up the sleeves of his new crisp shirt.

[Look at those sexy forearms...]

"Yool-ssi, I’ll start to get the wrong idea if you keep looking at me that way."

"I only like your face and body like how I admire my favorite fictional characters, Ahjussi."

"You don’t have to be defensive, Yool-ssi."

Song Moonho just laughed, and then he snapped his fingers.

Just like that, the mini vault floated in the air.

"Should I hide this precious vault in my Inventory?" Song Moonho asked. "It will be better for us to teleport than to use a car. Where do you need to go?"

"To the Han River. Is it within the range of your teleportation skill?"

"I can go anywhere within Seoul. But the farther it is from my current location, the fewer people I’d be able to take with me. It won’t be a problem since I only need to move with one person."

[So, this is why Graham-ssi said that Ahjussi’s teleportation skill is more convenient than his ability to create portals.]

"Please take care of the vault, Ahjussi."

Then, with just another snap of the fingers, the mini vault disappeared.

"Come here, Yool-ssi," Song Moonho said, opening his arms while beaming. "We need to cuddle."

"No, we don’t. Didn’t I say I’ll start charging every time you touch me unnecessarily?"

"How much for one hug?"

Song Moonho shrugged. "For some reason, I feel calm whenever I touch you, Yool-ssi."

"Gimme one million then."

"Send me your bank account."

"One million US dollars and not Korean won."

"Or do you want it in cash?"

"Yes," Yool said bluntly, and then he wrapped his arms around Song Moonho’s taut waist. "Cold hard cash is always the best choice."

Song Moonho chuckled while wrapping his arms around Yool’s body. "You’re adorable, Yool-ssi."

"I SAID bring me to the Blue House," Wonhee complained when she found herself sitting on a picnic blanket while eating ramen. Ahyeon lent her his suit jacket and put it on her lap. So, now, she was warm and full while watching the beautiful Han River in front of them. "But you brought me back here, Ahyeonnie. Has your rebellious phase begun already?"

"I’m already twenty-one years old, Noona," Ahyeon complained lightly. He was sitting next to her while having ramen, too. "I’m too old to go through a rebellious phase."

"But you disobeyed my order."

"This is for your own good, Noona."

She couldn’t really refute that.

[I miss Yejun, but I won’t see him even if go to the Blue House.]

Plus, the Blue House was being guarded by the Special Forces (Cracks Division) Agents. They would probably contact Wonhee’s older siblings if they saw her there.

[And I’m being targeted. I should be home, honestly.]

"I called Yool Hyung," Ahyeon said. "He texted back and said he’d be here with Song Moonho-nim."

"He’s still with Song Moonho-ssi?"

She just nodded and enjoyed the rest of her ramen.

And, a few minutes later, Yool finally appeared...

... in the arms of Song Moonho.

[Is he trying to become a BL main character?]

Yool, who probably noticed Wonhee’s teasing gaze, immediately pushed Song Moonho away from him. "I got the diaries back."

Wonhee and Ahyeon both let out a sigh of relief.

WONHEE glanced at Song Moonho nervously.

The S-Class Hunter was currently inside her car while talking to someone on the phone.

On the other hand, Wonhee and her friends were sitting on the picnic blanket while surrounding the mini safety vault that Yool brought.

Ahyeon put a dome-like barrier around them in case someone ambushed them again.

"Wony-ah, don’t worry about the old man," Yool said when he caught her glancing at Song Moonho worriedly. "He was the one who offered to guard you from afar. He’ll be fine."

"I just feel bad," Wonhee said. "I’m making a lot of people worry about me."

"Don’t feel guilty for every little thing," Yool said while punching the code to open his mini safety vault. "Your existence is enough to protect this country, Wony-ah. You’re allowed to act entitled from time to time."

Ahyeon nodded in agreement. "But please d-don’t put yourself in danger, Noona. Going to the Blue House wasn’t a good idea."

"Yes, I’m already reflecting on it."

Wonhee was really sad earlier because of Lee Seodam.

But she had to put her personal feelings aside in the meantime when Yool pulled out the mini safety vault.

[It’s more important than my feelings, after all.]

"We’ll drink and curse at Lee Seodam later," Yool promised while opening the mini door of the vault. "For now, let’s check the content of my diaries."

Wonhee and Ahyeon both nodded firmly.

Yool then pulled out three notebooks from the vault. He picked up the one that said ’Volume 1’ on the cover. And then he flipped through the pages.

"It’s blank?" Wonhee wondered out loud. "Why are the pages blank?"

"Did the thieves replace your diaries, Hyung?" Ahyeon asked worriedly. "Oh, no. What to do now?"

"No, these are my diaries," Yool said while flipping through the pages of the other two notebooks. "My doodles are still here. But, for some reason, the pages are blank."

Wonhee was about to say something, but her Status Window suddenly popped up.

[You may view the contents that Ong Yool has written in his diaries in exchange for Ong Yool’s soul!]

Wonhee let out a loud gasp. "What do you mean by that? And you’re using Yool’s real name..."

Yool pointed at himself. "The System is talking about me?"

Wonhee didn’t get the chance to answer Yool because her Status Window popped up again.

[If Chu Wonhee chooses to read Ong Yool’s diaries, then the System will send Ong Yool’s soul back to its original world for a fair trade! To simply put, the price of exposing the truth is Ong Yool’s soul!]

Wonhee’s eyes widened in surprise. "But what will happen to Yool if he returns to his old body? Is he still alive in the other world?"

[The System can’t guarantee Ong Yool’s survival in the other world because it’s out of our jurisdiction!]

"How can you send Yool back to his body without knowing if he’s still alive in the other world or not?"

Ahyeon gasped out loud. "The System wants Yool Hyung’s soul in exchange for the truth?"

"Then let’s do it," Yool said casually. "If we know the truth, then we can save this world. I don’t mind returning to my world if it means saving yours."

"No," Wonhee said sternly. "I will not save this world at my best friend’s expense."

[Because I’m done being nice.]
