Chapter 268: Chapter 268
Shen Mubai sat there motionless, his body rigid with tension, to the point where his breathing was almost halted.
He stared unblinkingly at the girl in front of him, his heart pounding uncontrollably.
He watched as the girl’s lips, delicate like cherry blossoms, nearly touched his slightly pale thin lips.
In that moment, Shen Mubai was so nervous that he forgot to breathe, his mind went blank, only filled with the rapid and chaotic sound of his heartbeat, one beat after another.
But in the next instant, the girl slightly tilted her head, bringing her red lips near his ear, and whispered with a smile, her breath fragrant as orchids.
"Young General Shen, there’s a blade of grass on your head."
Shen Mubai was stunned for a long time, unable to recover his wits.
Suddenly, a cold and domineering gust of wind lifted the light curtains hanging from the pavilion.
As the curtains fluttered wildly, a long whip, like a swimming dragon, flew through the air, wrapping around the girl’s slender waist with the speed of thunder.
Yun Ran let out a low exclamation, her figure soaring like a startled swan, being pulled outwards by the whip’s force, flying backwards out of the pavilion.
Shen Mubai suddenly came to his senses, getting up to chase out of the pavilion, "Wanyue!"
Outside the pavilion, Yun Ran’s figure floated lightly like a wisp of cloud into an embrace filled with a chilling aura and ghostly hostility.
Yun Ran didn’t even need to open her eyes to know what kind of expression the owner of this embrace bore at this moment!
Nevertheless, she still looked up, meeting the sight of a man’s face that resembled a black deity.
His face was filled with a mix of hostility, murderous intent, resentment, coldness, and anger, making anyone who glanced at it not dare to look a second time.
Yun Ran silently looked away, gazing at the sun in the sky, "Nangong Mo, why are you here?"
Shen Mubai, also out of the pavilion, saw this unexpected guest, especially noting his expression at this moment, along with the powerful and terrifying aura emanating from him.
Shen Mubai’s eyes filled with a hint of worry, "Prince Qin, there might be some misunderstanding here, Wanyue she..."
Nangong Mo sharply turned to look at him, and in that instant, his gaze made Shen Mubai shudder all over, involuntarily silencing him.
Yun Ran felt the arm encircling her waist was like Xuan Iron, holding so tightly, it nearly felt like her waist would snap!
She tried to pry it a bit, but it wouldn’t budge in the slightest.
Helplessly, she reached out to push his chest, "Nangong Mo, let me go first."
The man pressed his lips tight, his handsome face seemed cast in frost, chilling to the soul.
Yun Ran quietly swallowed, her fingertips poking his arm, "Nangong Mo, you’re hurting me."
The man’s eyelids fluttered slightly, yet he still pressed his thin lips tightly and ignored her.
However, the arm around her slender waist did loosen slightly, though not enough to let her escape, she remained tightly held in his embrace.
Yun Ran discreetly observed his expression, her eyes lively and cunning, darting around, "Nangong Mo? Why aren’t you speaking? You’re really scary !"
Shen Mubai had just heard Yun Ran say it hurt, now hearing her say she’s scared, and seeing Nangong Mo’s demeanor, though fearing him in his heart, couldn’t help but speak:
"Prince Qin, Wanyue has been frail since childhood, if you have any anger, please direct it at me, do not harm Wanyue."
After Shen Mubai’s words, the chill around Nangong Mo surged, his murderous intent was overwhelming.
Yun Ran’s heart trembled, she hurriedly held his hand, afraid he might lose control and unleash a killing spree.
"Nangong Mo, calm down! I was just talking to him, I didn’t do anything... mm... mm..."
Before Yun Ran could finish, the man suddenly lowered his head, his thin lips, filled with boundless rage, fiercely capturing her soft red lips.
His kiss was like a fierce wind, like pouring rain, like a terrifying storm, enveloping her entirely, almost dragging her, her heart, her soul, into the vortex to be devoured and drowned.
Yun Ran’s mind went blank, some remaining sense told her this was still outside, on Lake Heart Island, above the water, where people could be around anywhere.
She used all her strength to push him, but couldn’t move him one bit.
"Prince Qin! She doesn’t want it! Let her go!"
Shen Mubai seemed to want to step forward to rescue Yun Ran.
Nangong Mo’s gaze sharpened, he swept out a palm strike in mid-air, the domineering and mighty palm wind rolled towards Shen Mubai like a tsunami.
Shen Mubai quickly dodged, but still got caught by the wind, his body staggered back several steps and he spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
Nangong Mo finally let go of Yun Ran as well, gazing at her red-cheeked, misty-eyed face that seemed to carry a faint blush like she was drunk, his eyes darkened slightly.
His fingers caressed her face, gently rubbing her plump, rosy lips, his movements gentle but his voice cold as a chilling breeze from the Nine Netherworld Prison.
"I kiss my own woman, what does it have to do with Young General Shen?"
These words pierced his heart, making Shen Mubai’s heart shrink fiercely, a kind of indescribable dull suffocating pain.
His throat welled up with a metallic taste of blood again, forcibly suppressed by Shen Mubai.
His complexion was somewhat pale, his gaze glanced reluctantly at Yun Ran before swiftly looking away, "Even so, you shouldn’t disregard her wishes."
Nangong Mo’s gaze was as if tempered with ice, cold and disdainful. The source of this content ɪs 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵~𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖~𝙣𝙚𝙩
"She is my woman, and I won’t allow anyone to touch her. If you dare covet her again, I’ll kill you."
Shen Mubai’s heart trembled, his gaze on Nangong Mo, unable to speak for a good while.
Yun Ran kept her head buried in Nangong Mo’s chest, unusually quiet.
She didn’t even look up at Shen Mubai once.
Her compliance caused Nangong Mo’s previously somber and terrifyingly gloomy face to soften just a tiny bit.
In truth, Yun Ran just felt embarrassed and didn’t want to look up and show her face.
She knew he would surely sulk, but she never expected he would do such a thing in front of Shen Mubai, in front of who knows how many people...
Thinking of this, Yun Ran simply closed her eyes as well.
Finally cut off from everyone’s gaze, finally a bit of private space, Yun Ran slowly let out a breath.
Then she realized she was still being held in that person’s arms...
Yun Ran tugged at her somewhat stiff lips, her fingertips lightly poking his arm, "Nangong Mo, put me down, I need a moment."
All she received was silence.
He seemed unwilling to acknowledge her.
Yun Ran was speechless, this man’s temper was really something! She hadn’t even held him accountable for doing that in public...
"Nangong Mo, let go now, did you hear me? I want to get down."
Yun Ran even wondered if he had turned to stone?
Seeing no response, Yun Ran had no choice but to pry his hand, struggling to get off his lap.
In the next instant, a low, cold voice laced with suppressed anger and almost demonic charm floated past her ear.
"If you keep moving, I don’t mind doing it right here in the carriage."
Yun Ran was stunned, blinking blankly.
[What did he say? What does he mean? Here in the carriage what? Silence her forever?]
As if to answer the question in her heart, the dangerous voice sounded again by her ear, "I’ve seen illustrated albums, in a carriage."
