Chapter 503: Chapter 503

The players expected Norman to come into the locker room shouting and calling out the players he thought played shit today but none of that happened.

He walked into the room quietly even though he had that gloomy look on his face and talked to the players like he would talk to them normally, some of them did get scolded a little but it was nothing serious.

The highlight of everything he said was that he wanted to see them at the stadium tomorrow evening because they had a rough road ahead of them.

They had to head back home that night on the team's private plane.

The plane was lively when they were coming to France yesterday, but right now, it was almost completely quiet and that made perfect sense.

They just lost a match so most of them weren't in the mood to talk about anything, that plus the fact that the match was pretty exhausting.

Dave was sitting beside Mateo just like always but while he was wide awake with his left hand on his chin, the winger was fast asleep with his earbuds in his ears and his phone on his chest.

"This one sure took a lot out of everyone, didn't it?" The goalkeeper muttered.

'Oh, that's great, right after we've lost the match. Just turn it on.' He sighed inwardly.

[ System is back online ]

[ +10 skill upgrade points ]

'There's no attribute point but I guess this doesn't look that bad. Can I see my post-match rewards now?'

[ Thirteen crucial saves: +130 exp ]

[ Goals conceded(3): 0exp ]

[ Provided an assist: +50 exp ]

[ Match rating: 7.0 ]

'Those guys really wanted to kill me with shots.'

'Your jokes are lame.'

'Anyway, pulling off thirty shots in a match is really crazy, we only fired at their goalpost twelve times.'

'Yeah, everything was pointing in that direction.'

After almost two hours in the air, the plane finally arrived at the Bilbeth airport.

Mateo was still asleep so Dave had to give him a little tap on the shoulder.

"You've slept for almost two hours now, that's a lot of sleep for a so-called nap." The goalkeeper remarked before moving his face closer to his. "And you were ever drooling."

"I was?" The winger muttered in a hypnotic voice before slowly wiping the liquid off his mouth with his hand. "Oh, I guess that happened."

They got off the plane and got into the bus that took them straight to the stadium and now, they just had to head home and get some rest.

Mateo was in a hurry to head home because he was really just like the rest of their teammates but Dave wasn't really feeling that tired.

It was understandable though since he was the goalkeeper who hardly did any running in the match, and with his stamina stat that high, his energy problems no longer existed.

He got in his car when there were only two cars left in the space, and after starting the engine, he started heading straight home.

'So, who's our next opponent?'

'Oh, shouldn't be a problem, I guess.'

It didn't take long before he got to his home, and after using the remote control to open the gate, he drove into the compound and parked his car however he pleased.

"I guess that marks the end of today." He sighed before he got out of the car and slammed the door shut.

He made his way straight to the door, and instead of knocking like he always did, he just decided to open it.

That was a good decision because when he walked into the house, he found Emma fast asleep on the couch with a blanket that was supposed to be covering her body on the floor.

"It was a long day for you too, huh?" He muttered before he slowly made his way to her.

He picked up the blanket and slowly used it to cover her body before kissing her on the forehead.

After that, he slowly took three steps backward with his gaze still on her.

"Did her stomach get bigger?" He pondered with his left hand on his chin.

'Hmm, I see, looks like Devon's getting bigger.' He smiled before he turned and made his way to the kitchen.

After getting to the kitchen, he made his way to the freezer and opened it to grab a bottle of water.

He opened the bottle and emptied everything into his pocket in no time before dropping the empty bottle on top of the freezer.

With that taken care of now, the goalkeeper let out a deep sigh before slowly walking out of the kitchen with both of his hands in his pockets.

He turned his gaze to the couch to see that Emma was still fast asleep before he began to make his way upstairs.

'I know I shouldn't be thinking about it, but I seriously don't know how we're going to beat Lyon at home after what they did against us today, but for what it's worth, I hope the system doesn't misbehave like it did today that day.'

There was no response from Catherine after saying all that in his mind, but he didn't think anything of it and just kept moving.

He was about to enter his room when she finally said something.

'Well, that caught me by surprise, you rarely call me by my name.'

'Huh?' He replied this time with a confused expression on his face.

'Inner subconscious?'

'Oh, that's what it's called? Yeah, I figured out how to do that a while back.'

'Yeah, that was sort of easy to figure out.' The goalkeeper replied with his right hand on the back of his head.
