The party which was on its full swing a few minutes before deluged with sheer silence. Shocking gasps and murmurs could be heard in the dark hall after Dylan's shocking confession. He was still on his knees, talking to Evelyn with a sorrowful voice while she kept listening to him patiently.

“I know Eve. I know whatever I’ll say, neither it would make any sense nor it will be useful as it's high time now. But just let me confess my sins today,” he cried. Evelyn still didn't utter a word. Dylan took her silence as a cue to continue further. He immediately stood up on his feet and faced everyone who was watching him with bewilderment.

Dylan then heaved a deep sigh before speaking in his husky voice, “I know that this news must have come as a shock to you all but it's the truth. Evelyn Clarke was earlier the manager of her dad’s company, Clarke Enterprises. I met her in the US around three years ago. She caught my eyes at our first meeting and arouse my curiosity. Instantly I started my little research on her. I was surprised when I came to know that Eve is a child prodigy. Initially, I wanted Evelyn to only work for me but when I came to know that her company is bogged in heavy debt, that's what emboldened my plan to capture her. You all must be thinking as to why I was crazy for a girl whose own company was on the verge of bankruptcy. It's because one of the employees of her company leaked important documents to a company that was none other than Black Estates,” he said and turned to Evelyn who froze on her spot.

She never had thought in a million years that her company was in debt because of Black Estates. But how could this be possible?

Dylan noticed Evelyn's perplexed face and he very well knows the reason behind it. He then walked closer to her and cupped her right cheek in his palm, “Eve, you do know that your company was in a debt but why did you never try to find the reason behind it?”

His words tore Evelyn out from her daze. She blinked her eyes before speaking in a soft tone, “The debt issue also came as a surprise for me. I had never taken such a huge loan from any company then how come we were accused of fraud and deception? I tried multiple times to unveil the name of the company that sued us but the court always used to shun me up harshly and also gave me a deadline to pay the charges. I was so stressed because of all this. Also, our further delay would only pile up the cost of the loan that's why I put a stop to my investigation.”

She gave Dylan an honest answer and shot him a glare. Her eyes welled up with fresh tears as she recalled her hardships and restless nights when she used to work like a maniac to save her family's reputation.

Dylan's heart ached to watch her pained expressions. He gulped a big lump of guilt and averted his gaze down, “I will tell you what happened three years ago. Do you remember Clara Smith? Your Dad fired her when he caught her misusing her authority and oppressing her juniors. She lost her mind after that and was hell-bent to take revenge on your father for firing and insulting her. You must be thinking how I know her, right? Clara was Sophia’s best friend. Sophia told me that Clara was deceived by her ex-Boss and wanted me to help her. Clara then stole some important files of your company and handed them to Black Estates. She even inveigled me to buy the shares of your company. I didn't believe her at first and also throw her out of my company. But then one day, she cited some fake evidence against your Dad of being a fraudster and how your company deceives people and tricks its business partners. Unfortunately, I came in her words and charged your company with a fine of fifty million dollars. For me, Clarke Enterprises was nothing but a gang of pickpockets who love to take people for a ride to sate their hunger for money that's why I charged you such a hefty amount. But when I met you in the US and personally saw your impressive skills and unique talent, I realized how wrong I was.”

He said, his face loomed with sadness. Anger surfaced through Evelyn's pretty face. She started shaking in fury. His brutal words were like a bucket of cold water that was splashed on her years of dedication and hard work.

Evelyn couldn't control herself anymore and grabbed his collar, “AND THEN THE SCALES FELL FROM YOUR EYES AND YOU FORCEFULLY MARRIED ME! IS THIS SOME SORT OF JOKE FOR YOU? THEN WILL YOU ENLIGHTEN THIS FACT THAT AFTER KNOWING EVERYTHING WHY YOU STILL DIDN'T WITHDREW THE CHARGES? WHEN YOU FINALLY CAME TO KNOW THAT WE WERE INNOCENT THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU DROP THE CASE?” She shouted while angry tears rolled down her cheeks. Dylan sighed and held her hands.

“As I said, Eve, I lost my mind. I thought to make you work for me but when I checked your profile, I dropped the idea. You were too strong to break and I was hell-bent to make you mine. That's why I lapped up the opportunity and threatened your father to pay off the money as soon as possible. He denied it as it was an impossible task so I made a deal with him to marry off his daughter to me and I will clear the company's debt.” He said coldly and removed her hands off him. But his words only fuelled up her anger more. Evelyn again pounced on him like a wild kitten and shouted on his face.

“I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!! TELL ME EVERYTHING? WHAT DID YOU SAY TO MY DAD THAT FORCED HIM TO SELL ME OFF? WHY DIDN'T EVER TELL ME ABOUT ALL THIS? I AM SURE YOU WOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING OTHERWISE DAD WOULD NEVER HAVE SOLD ME OFF LIKE A COMMODITY! I KNOW HIM. I KNOW MY DAD.”

"But you don't know me, Eve."

Dylan said in a spooky tone. Evelyn immediately turned stiff as a pole. She forgot how to breathe when her rained hazel orbs fell on his malignant ones.

Her heart skipped a beat when Dylan abruptly coiled his veiny arm around her dainty waist and pulled her to himself with a jerk. Evelyn didn't expect that as she collided on his rock-hard chest with a thud. Her eyes turned wide as saucers when she looked at Dylan who shot her his famous signature evil smirk.

“You as well as all others don't even have the slightest idea as to what extent Dylan Black could go to fulfill his dreams. My dream was to have you by my side, the girl who infatuated me with her innocence and purity. Using you for your brain was just an excuse to possess you. I wanted something else. And that was you, only you. Do you want to know how I threatened your Dad? I threatened him with your mother's life. I threatened him to fucking convince you to marry me or else I will stab your mother's heart,” he growled menacingly. Everyone gasped in shock. They stared at Dylan in horror as he was looking no less than a Devil.

“After killing your parents, I would have forcefully married you. And trust me when I say that, I fucking mean it,” he said and threw her a diabolical smirk. Evelyn blanched in shock and fear.

Dylan's parents were earlier feeling pity for their son when he was owning up to his crimes in front of everyone. But they also couldn't mask their shocked expressions when they heard his bone-chilling words. Evelyn whimpered when Dylan flushed her petite figure to his stout frame. She was looking like a lamb who was crying loudly in the hold of a voracious wolf.

“My naive Eve, you don't know to what extent I would have gone to make you mine. Call me sick, call me insane but I am telling you the truth Eve, I would have made you mine either by hook or crook. No power on this earth would have stopped me from claiming you. I don't care if I had to drag you to an aisle or marry you at gunpoint. I would have done anything to make you mine.”

He chuckled darkly like a deranged person. Evelyn broke out in tears as she started crying like a child. She was terrified out of her wits. Dylan's gaze zeroed in on her quivering pink lips and without wasting a second, he took them in a searing kiss.

"DYLAN!!"

"HOW DARE YOU!!"

A thundering growl followed by a raging blare echoed in the hall. Everyone instantly turned back only to see Brandon and Xander at the entrance, glaring at Dylan ferociously. The duo immediately dashed Dylan and Evelyn only to be stopped midway. Brandon frowned and looked to his right only to find Dylan's guards holding them.

“LEAVE ME YOU BASTARDS!!”, Xander shouted and wiggled hard to free himself but his strength was nothing compared to Dylan's hulk-like bodyguards.

Dylan broke the kiss and wiped off her tears with his thumb while Evelyn kept thrashing in his hold violently. He then looked at Brandon and Xander who were fuming in anger.

“Again, you two? Well, guys give a warm welcome to my two ubiquitous best friends who always stick around my wife like gum,” he snorted. Dylan then dropped his gaze down to Evelyn who was trying hard to get away from him. He tightened his grip around her waist only to make her flinch. She then lifted her head and shot him a glare. But Dylan just smirked in return and caressed her cheeks with his rough knuckles.

“YOU MONSTER! YOU'RE THE WORST HUMAN BEING ON THIS EARTH! FOR A SPLIT SECOND, I FELT BAD WHEN I SAW YOU ON YOUR KNEES, BEGGING EVELYN FOR FORGIVENESS. BUT NO, YOU AGAIN PROVED ME WRONG!! DYLAN BLACK, YOU'RE A DEVIL IN HUMAN FORM!!”, Brandon yelled.

His acrimonious words grabbed Dylan's attention. Dylan whipped his neck back towards him and shot him a death glare, “I would suggest you keep your mouth shut, or else it won't take me a split second to throw you out of here. So, fucking just shut up and let me finish.”

He snarled with gritted teeth. Xander's gaze fell on Evelyn who was silently pleaded with him to stay quiet. Although he wanted to murder Dylan at the moment it will be better to stay here rather than outside. Already their one mistake had again landed her in the arms of her tormentor. Now they can't afford to leave her all alone together with this devil.

Xander silently nudged Brandon's left elbow without getting noticed. Brandon glared at him with burning eyes only to see him gesturing him to calm down. He then shifted his gaze back to Evelyn who was looking at him with teary eyes. Brandon exhaled loudly and closed his eyes.

Dylan also breathed in relief but he very well knew what succumbed to their struggles. It was Evelyn for sure. He knew her very well. He glanced at her only to find her already glaring at him.

Dylan then took a sharp breath and slowly released his vice grip from her body.

“I know I did wrong and I don't want the whole world to remind me again and again. Moreover, there is a limit for everything. A limit to commit mistakes, a limit to confess, a limit to apologize, a limit to forgiving, a limit to break promises, a limit to healing the scars. And I know very well that I have crossed all my limits so it's high time for me to apologize and cry for your forgiveness. That's why I have decided that today I won't beg you for forgiveness instead I will surrender myself on my own volition to the law,” he said and looked at her earnestly. Evelyn looked at him with wide eyes. Even Brandon and Xander looked at Dylan in shock.

Suddenly cops came rushing inside the hall and marched towards Dylan. Dylan retreated his steps back while looking at Evelyn with teary eyes.

"Arrest them, officer."

A deep voice echoed around. Evelyn swiftly turned her neck back to meet the owner of that voice. But her eyes nearly fell out of sockets when it fell on a man who was none other than Mr. Swift, Dylan's right hand and Black Estates' Assistant Manager.
