Chapter 479: Chapter 479
Qiao Xi was removing her makeup when Shen Dang entered the makeup room.
Bei Bei, seeing Shen Dang, immediately sat up straight from her previous playful demeanor beside Qiao Xi.
"Sister Xi, your husband is here."
The man exuded a subtle yet assertive aura, making people instinctively turn serious in his presence, daring not to act out.
Moreover, Sister Xi had asked her to turn off her phone today, and since Boss Shen still found his way to the set, it indicated there might be a problem between them.
With the immortals clashing, she hoped their dispute wouldn’t drag her, a mere shrimp soldier and crab general, into it.
Qiao Xi’s makeup was almost completely removed, and she glanced at Shen Dang through the mirror without any reaction.
Shen Dang, focusing on her, asked, "How much longer will you be?"
"Almost done," Bei Bei quickly responded, then asked, "Sister Xi, is there anything else? If not, I’m going to clock out."
Now that her brother-in-law was here, there probably wasn’t anything left for her to do.
Qiao Xi wasn’t actually angry; she just wanted to scare Shen Dang a bit, since he had been messing with her.
She needed to give him a serious lesson.
Otherwise, he would do it again.
Qiao Xi didn’t intend to perform in front of others, so she let Bei Bei go with a nod in response.
The minion immediately retreated!
Bei Bei sighed in relief as she stood up without delay, "See you tomorrow."
She fled quickly, her figure vanishing at the door.
Now alone with Shen Dang, he sat on the armrest of Qiao Xi’s chair, one long leg planted on the ground, his upper body leaning slightly towards her.
His arm wrapped around her from behind, resting on her shoulder as he peered at their reflection in the mirror.
The brightly lit makeup mirror clearly reflected both of their figures.
Truly a perfect match.
Shen Dang’s voice was still deep, tinged with an indescribable hint of amusement.
Her angry expressions always made him irresistibly tender-hearted.
Shen Dang didn’t think his significant other being angry was bad; on the contrary, he found it good since without it, life would be too bland and lose its flavor.
Although many relationships inevitably become mundane, they were not at that stage yet. They should passionately and intensely express their emotions and love, unrestrained.
He wanted his wife not to hide her temperament: to laugh when she feels like laughing, to cry when she needs to cry, not to feel wronged or forced.
She, Qiao Xi, deserved all kinds of pampering.
Even a slight temper was acceptable.
He would indulge her.
Who else would pamper his wife if not him?
Qiao Xi slightly raised her eyebrows, with a not-so-displeasing arrogance, "Then do you know why I am angry?"
This question was a tough one.
To say he didn’t know would imply a bigger problem.
To say he knew, would she accuse him of knowingly erring?
But he truly did not know.
So, how should he answer this question?
Qiao Xi was still waiting for Shen Dang’s response, unhurriedly continuing her actions. Google seaʀᴄh NovᴇlFirᴇ.ɴet
She wiped off her lipstick, revealing a bare, stunningly beautiful face, as pure as a snow lotus on a snowy mountain.
After weighing his options, Boss Shen decided to answer honestly.
Qiao Xi inhaled sharply.
Before she could speak, Shen Dang offered his complete sincerity, "No matter why you’re angry, it’s my fault."
"Wife, don’t be mad anymore."
It had been a whole day.
She hadn’t answered his calls.
Here he was, rushing to the set to coax her.
Shen Dang’s voice softened, "Being angry is bad for your health."
Qiao Xi suddenly laughed, her smile cool and delicately arrogant.
She leisurely countered, "You don’t even know why I’m angry, how could you know what you did wrong? Since you don’t know, how could you say it’s your fault?"
Qiao Xi’s lifted eyes were sharp, her presence pressing directly towards him, her eyes filled with half-mockery.
Shen Dang immediately felt troubled, realizing her reply actually made sense. He didn’t argue with her.
He touched his nose, offering an embarrassed smile, "Maybe my wife could give me a hint?"
His voice dropped even lower.
While speaking, he also raised his hand, "I’ll correct my mistake, really, I won’t do it again."
He seemed very serious about his vow.
Qiao Xi raised her brow, "What if you do it again?"
Shen Dang, seeing her intrigued expression, suddenly suspected he had fallen into some sort of trap.
He hesitated for a moment, not responding.
During his moment of hesitation, Qiao Xi seemed to gain the upper hand, saying righteously, "Look at you hesitating, it’s clear you aren’t sincerely admitting your mistake, never mind forcing yourself."
Finishing, Qiao Xi pretended to sigh deeply.
Shen Dang knew she was acting, yet he still hopelessly walked into the trap she had set for him.
"I won’t make the same mistake next time," Boss Shen stated earnestly. "Can you tell me why you were angry now?"
Shen Dang was still waiting for the answer, but Qiao Xi said, "I wasn’t angry."
Doubt filled his eyes.
Qiao Xi watched his stunned expression and couldn’t help but "pfft" a laugh.
Her laughter was brimming with pleasure.
Shen Dang pinched the flesh on her cheek, grinding his teeth softly, "Not angry but turned off your phone for a day and didn’t return my calls?"
Qiao Xi swatted his hand away, huffing lightly, "It’s because you left marks on me, and I still had to film. I nearly got caught by others in the crew, luckily Bei Bei noticed and reminded me, otherwise I would have died of embarrassment."
Qiao Xi’s eyes still held a trace of resentment.
They could have their little fun in private, which Qiao Xi didn’t mind, but if others saw, where would she put her face?
Shen Dang’s lips curled into a faint smile, "Is that all?"
Seeing his nonchalant attitude, Qiao Xi grew serious, "Is this issue not serious enough?"
Under Qiao Xi’s cold, clear gaze, Shen Dang obediently nodded, "It’s a big issue, I’ll restrain myself more next time."
"What we just discussed wasn’t about restraining, but about not making the same mistake again!" Qiao Xi said expressionlessly.
Shen Dang’s eyes drooped, revealing a hint of pathos, "What if I can’t control myself?"
Qiao Xi: "...You really are a hopeless man!"
"Thank you for the compliment, wife," Shen Dang responded agreeably.
Qiao Xi gritted her teeth, half-smiling, "In any case, don’t do it again on my neck or any other noticeable place!"
Shen Dang’s eyes sparkled with interest, "Wife, does that mean it’s okay to do it elsewhere?"
He had caught the loophole in her words, immediately becoming more daring.
He nodded, his beautiful peach blossom eyes gleaming with layers of amusement, "Alright, I’ll listen to my wife, I’m very obedient to my wife."
It had been too long, Qiao Xi had almost forgotten his dog-like trait of climbing up the pole.
