Chapter 1609: Chapter 1609
The next morning, having suffered severe mental exhaustion, Rupert looked as if he had aged decades overnight. His mental state was appalling. As soon as dawn broken, regardless of everything, he rushed to the highest peak nearby. Standing on top of the mountain, he spread out his arms, channeled all his energy, and shouted at the top of his lungs towards the entire Extinction Domain: "The master has arrived!".
"Guardians, show yourself—"
The voice echoed through the mountains, frightening flock of birds into flight and sending wild animals fleeing in disarray. However, throughout the Extinction Domain, there was still no sign of human presence...
Feelings of loneliness, loss and desperation filled Rupert’s chest, nearly driving him to his knees.
What he didn’t know was that he truly was the only person in the entire Seven Stars Mountain Extinction Region. He was utterly alone.
He spat out a burst of three-pronged flame from his mouth. The flame was light-golden in color, stable and calm, like a golden blossom pasted on a piece of paper. However, the divinity it subtly exudes, made the heavens and earth stand silent, showcasing its extraordinary nature!
Yet with no Guardians responding, Rupert was at a loss. He had no clue how to proceed next, and neither did his family’s ancient heritage offer any guidance.
Inside the large house on Cliff Mountain, where the "Guardian" resided, Master Andrew began shaking violently, while the surface of the Magic Treasure tower emanated powerful, colorful halos.
Only one person remained in the house, this was routine. When someone was monitoring the world from the Magic Treasure tower, another one would humbly assist at this location.
However, over tens of thousands of years, there had never been any accidents. The "Guardians" had already grown accustomed to viewing the entire Central State from their "lofty" position. To them, disasters that would be fatal in other’s eyes were merely "trivial matters". Their casual attitudes had long since deeply ingrained itself into their Primordial Spirits.
The man inside the house was just the same. He was presently engrossed in a tantalizing storybook. The plot had just reached a critical moment—the little monk had just leaped over the rear wall...
In the Magic Treasure tower, Master Andrew had already been bleeding from seven orifices, eyes rolled back, and the halo above the tower had become as dazzling as fresh blood... It was then that the man exclaimed, "Oh, no!".
Rushing to tuck the book in his bosom, he ran down to open the Magic Treasure tower, rescuing Master Andrew and stuffing the precious "Returning Heaven Pill" into Andrew’s mouth as if they were worthless...
It took Master Andrew half a Shichen to recover, while poor Rupert was left alone on the mountaintop for the same length of time.
Upon regaining his ability to speak, the first thing Andrew did was report the serious situation: "There was an issue with Seven Star Mountain. The members of the Rupert clan and the Guardians failed to make contact, yet the second layer of Seven Star Mountain clearly opened up. Moreover, for some reason, I was unable to view the situation within the second layer..."
The trio was taken aback: "According to our arrangements, only those Guardians should know how to open the second layer... In other words, the Guardians have already gone inside. But without receiving the Divine Envoy, why would they act on their own? Even if they had sensed something and acted out of rebellion, it would be useless for them to go inside, they can’t possibly resurrect the evil God..."
After a chaotic discussion, it was the weaken, Master Andrew who lifted his hand first, "I suggest, we immediately implement the Family Laws". To them, the entire Central State was their own, and for every issue, they used their Family Laws to resolve it.
"I agree." The three unanimously agreed. Instructions were swiftly issued and three figures shot out from the Cliff Mountain. They were the Disciplinary Officers of the "Guardian" organization.
The Chief Witch stared at the Divine Envoy intently, he could feel that Divine Envoy was incredibly powerful. Yet the task of resurrecting the Guardian God was ultimately the pursuit of his life. If he were unable to accomplish it, even at the cost of his own life, he would trap the man before him in this layer of the world!
The Divine Envoy suddenly stretched out his hand, a faint flame ignited from his palm.
The Chief Witch moved closer to inspect the flame—The mysterious power it emanated, something so profound that the Chief Witch had never encountered in his life. It seemed weak yet appeared incredibly strong, ordinary yet arrogantly transcendent.
The Chief Witch was overjoyed to the point that his eyes were wet with tears: "This is... the power of divinity? It truly produces a sense of reverence!Good, good, good, this is just perfect. Our deity is finally going to return!"
He bowed to the Divine Envoy:" Divine Envoy, please wait a moment. Once I’ve made the arrangements, you just need to introduce the fire seed into it. We promise to fully fulfil our end of the agreement!"
It appeared that Divine Envoy couldn’t wait any longer, he nodded and stood to one side, a look of impatience still evident on his face.
The Chief Witch started arranging the witchcraft again, much more complicated than before, even using the precious materials for witchcraft, each of which could cause cultivators to fight for them!
In the gray and black world, a huge sacrificial altar was built by him, a huge witch array with a range of hundreds of miles radiated from the altar as the center.
The Chief Witch was extremely careful, checking each detail over and over again. After an unknown amount of time, he finally finished the preparatory work, turned excitedly to the Divine Envoy and said, "Everything is ready! Honourable Divine Envoy, please ascend the altar with me!".
He gripped the Divine Envoy’s arm and without a word, they ascended the sacrificial altar. He released the Divine Envoy and sincerely prostrated to heaven and earth nine times on the altar, chanting ancient, obscure witchcraft curses. In a sudden act, he snapped his skull rosary, releasing a terrible force that completely activated the sacrificial altar.
As if a divine wind is blowing, the Divine Envoy could feel in this Deathly Silent world, a sudden hint of divine sense appeared, permeating the air.
Chief Witch again prostrated himself, eyes filled with tears: "My God—has returned!"
"Our clan will no longer be humiliated by enemy countries, we will unify Central State, the Reign will be endless!"
Chief Witch turned around and shouted at Divine Envoy: "Quickly, add the fire seed—" Divine Envoy was somewhat puzzled, looking up at the sky, then asking Chief Witch, "Didn’t you feel the divine sense in this world?"
"Divine sense?" Chief Witch frowned, but looked perplexed: "What divine sense?" He asked the Cloud Palace Martial Gods around him: "Do you feel the divine sense of my god?"
All ten Cloud Palace Martial Gods shook their heads together. Divine Envoy was even more confused, looking down at the "Ancient Lamp Artifact" in his hand that was disguised as the "fire seed", could it be because of this thing, that only he could hear the so-called Guardian God’s call?
"Fairy, what about you?" Divine Envoy asked Fairy, she also shook her head in confusion: "I didn’t feel anything."
Chief Witch solemnly said, "Divine Envoy sensed divine sense... So what did my God say?"
Divine Envoy hesitated, but eventually decided to translate it as it is: "A bunch of waste, fools, useless people! I will absolutely not go out at this time to court death!"
