Chapter 1607: Chapter 1607
The method of witchcraft can’t quite be labelled as "interfering" with the rules of Heaven and Earth, it’s more like pestering them persistently. To use a less fitting analogy, it’s like you asking a friend for a favor, but they stick to their principles and refuse to do anything that goes against them. However, you remain persistent, nagging them daily with a smile on your face, indifferent to laughter or scolding. Eventually, your friend can’t hold on anymore and promises to do it just "this one time" — but everyone knows that this one time will become countless times.
Mr. Sun even thinks that the sound of bone bells is like nagging to the rules of Heaven and Earth.
Soon after, Mr. Sun lowers his head with his expressions behind more surprised, because after the power of witchcraft connected to the rules of Heaven and Earth, the rule of the void in this place suddenly underwent a change that even he had never seen before!
The void was layered!
In people’s eyes, there was a round-moon-shaped lake whose water was gradually turning into sand, becoming a sand lake! But if you blink, it seems like a normal lake again. The alternating changes baffle people.
"Something’s amiss..." Mr. Sun carefully feels the change in space. Describing it as "layers" is not accurate. It’s more like the theory that was popular in the previous life: parallel space.
Mr. Sun is studying it as if he were starving or thirsty! The Extinction Domain inherently is a special void and it can set up such a parallel space. The rules in the void are so mystical that no wonder he had no feeling when he inspected the space before.
The quicksand in the Sand Lake started to rotate and quickly became a huge vortex. The Chief Witch breathed a sigh of relief, already drenched in sweat! The level of witchcraft he had just cast was extremely high, not noticeable to the unanticipated eye, but opening the second layer of the void is certainly no ordinary feat!
His final action was to shake his entire body. During the dense noise, one bone bell after another disappeared, turning into a smoky light and vanishing.
Chief Witch stealthily rubbed the skull bracelet in his hand a few times, drawing concentrated power to replenish himself. He then waved to the three Cloud Palace Martial Gods, "You go ahead and clear the way, arrange everything, the old man and the Divine Envoy will follow soon."
The three Cloud Palace Martial Gods jumped into the Sand Lake and, with the rotation of the quicksand, they turned into three points of spirit light and disappeared in a flash.
The Chief Witch said to Mr. Sun, "Without self-praise, without our witchcraft, even if you invite all the protectors of Central State, they wouldn’t be able to find the entrance to the mysteries of Seven Stars Mountain."
Mr. Sun tentatively asked, "Is the Guardian God sleeping under the Sand Lake?"
"We’ll see when we get there." The Chief Witch made an inviting gesture, then took the lead into the Sand Lake, with Mr. Sun following him.
After a brief void chaos, Mr. Sun landed in a cold, broken world where everything was covered in grey-black, causing an inevitable sense of depression.
It was unclear whether the ground underneath was mud, rubble, or sand. Every step gave a delusion that one would totally sink into the terrifying bottom of this world!
There were no mountains or rivers, not even terrain undulations. Gazing into the distance, there was an endless expanse of grey and black. Mr. Sun turned to the Chief Witch with questioning eyes. The latter turned his palm over and took out an oddly shaped tusk covered in minute cracks.
The ordinary tusk appeared in this world, suddenly emitting a faint red light. Chief Witch explained, "This is a token left by the Guardian God before plunging into extinction, given to our clan. Only this thing can guide us to find our God in this directionless world!"
The red light drifted, like a candle in the wind, and the Chief Witch headed in that direction.
He warned Mr. Sun beforehand, "I don’t know how far this journey will be. The Cloud Palace Martial Gods and I will protect you, meet all your demands, as long as the Divine Envoy fulfils the wish of our clan for tens of thousands of years- to have the Guardian God protect our clan again! The rewards we promised you will also be handed over in full after the job is done."
Mr. Sun found that his Seventh Realm perception had become "superfluous" in this world, still existing but useless, because wherever it was, there was only dead silence, like dead leaves that had dried up, lost their moisture and fallen from the tree.
Surveying his surroundings, Mr. Sun saw ten Cloud Palace Martial Gods standing around and asked, "There is no need to leave a guard in the real world?"
The Chief Witch in front shook his head seemingly casually, "The passage to the second layer of Seven Stars Mountain was opened by my witchcraft. When I came in, the passage closed, so there is no need for guarding."
However, Mr. Sun sensed a hint of hidden intent from this answer, and when he looked back, the Sand Lake had indeed disappeared. In other words, in normal terms, Mr. Sun was actually trapped in this world. If he wanted to go back, he would have to ask the Chief Witch to reopen the passage.
Mr. Sun was inwardly calm and even a little relieved, because coming to this side and closing the passage meant... the real Divine Envoy had been locked in the Extinction Domain of Seven Stars Mountain, and he wouldn’t be exposed!
In his heart, Mr. Sun was quite curious, what kind of ritual would it take to resurrect a God? Looking around, it was vast and boundless, presumably it was once its divine kingdom which was very grand, glorious, and gorgeous. The status of that god of the past was quite high.
